Makes it hard to pee. But also stops the annoying leak when you are coughing.
1. I used the large one because my flow is heavy. It does not last 12 hours, but it does hold a lot.2. I roll it up before inserting it like a tampon, then allow it to open up inside. Otherwise it's a literal pain in the ass.3. Unexpected side-effect/benefit? It makes it hard to pee. But it also stops the annoying leak when you are coughing. A smaller size probably will get rid of both but unfortunately I need the larger size.4. Yes it's messy. Not for public restrooms. But I could get away with it in office.

First time user, slight learning curve, but so far so good!
The media could not be loaded. I had been seriously thinking about switching to a more convenient and affordable alternative to pads and tampons. I've used mainly pads for most of my life but in recent years (I'm in my early thirties) my periods have been getting MUCH heavier and my flow or the angle of my vaginal canal just doesn't work with tampons, I ALWAYS end up leaking on my heaviest days (yes, even with super plus ones š„²), which is when I need the most help! Another reason I wanted to switch was because I hate having to adjust the type of underwear I use or activities I can engage in (like swimming) while on my period.Anywho, as a first time cup user, of course there is a learning curve and all bodies are different, so even though I watched PLENTIFUL period cup and disc content ahead of time, there's nothing like going in there and doing it lol.Honestly for the price of this product and being a first time user, it was not nearly as troublesome as I thought it'd be. I've been using the small one and emptying it every two hours or so during the heavy days as I get used to it. I am currently towards the end, so I'm going to leave it in a lot longer since I highly doubt it will get full anyway (absolutely no longer than the recommended 6-12 hrs).First time insertion was messy and a bit difficult, but adding a bit of lube around the edge of the cup and using the punch fold seems to be working (shown in the video using the large size). Make sure you push back and not up to get it in place. The hardest part for me so far is making sure it opens up before I go on my merry way. Pulling it out a bit, wiggling it around and dragging a finger around the perimeter seems to help. At first it was a little unsettling that it disappears so far up there lol, but you can definitely get it out.To remove I wouldn't recommend yanking straight down (the suction can be slightly uncomfortable), what I do is bear down so it will peak out, grab the stem and gently pull as I bear down in intervals (like you're pooping), then move it back and forth until one of the edges starts peeking out and slowly releases the suction. At the entrance it can feel a little tight but from there pull straight down, grab the cup by the sides and voila, it's out!I've had no leaks that I've noticed, and I can't really feel it while it's in there. I know part of the point is to not be wasteful, but this first time I've been using nitrile gloves to insert and remove just because my long nails can make the experience more...pinchy lolAll in all, I'm very happy so far and hoping this product will make my monthly period a far less inconvenient experience šIMPORTANT TIPS/REMINDERS!!!:1. Don't forget to sanitize (I'm boiling mine) for at least 5 minutes before first use and between uses.2. Wash hands before and after inserting/removing to avoid any bacteria getting in there.3. Rinse off with COLD water first after removing to try to avoid as much staining as possible.š 10/10 great cup especially if you're a newbie like me, and if it doesn't work for you, you're not out $20-$40 by getting the more well-known brands š

Perimenopause lifesaver!
Ok; here is my detailed review of the diva cup both pros and cons.*it's a pain in the ass to get it, but once it is you can barely tell it's there.*it's messy AF!You absolutely cannot be grossed out easily.*it's more time consuming but that outweighs the diaper and plug feeling.*only smell is what's collected. Once that's dumped smell is gone. Smell isn't grotesque, it's just intensified faramones.*it's definitely an at home use only thing, HOWEVER, if you do have to leave home, they can be worn for up to 12hrs.* I suggest wearing a pad on BAD days, and overnight incase spillage/leakage occurs.*my cramps aren't any better or worse, pretty much the same.*an absolute lifesaver for wearing overnight. Not Once did i have to jump up frantically and rush to the bathroom.*Also would be good for long car rides and events like concerts and such where bathrooms are limited or will have lines. So, so far; I approve.

I have birthed a human child but I also have a low cervix, so I have tried the smaller size and not the larger size. My period is heavy so it didnāt last the 12 hours but I do understand and most cups donāt last the tornado that is my period. But I did notice a pressure that would not go away, and I think it was due to the thickness of the rim. On the other hand the cup part is very thin and hard to work with when you are adjusting it. Every-time i tried to get the cup in the right position or to make sure it was open properly I would be playing cat and mouse because the actual cup part would just bend and move away. And you tend to get weird looks if you leave the bathroom after spending 10 minutes muttering āhere fishy fishyā to your menstrual cup in a desperate attempt to grab it so you can put it where it needs to go I think the cup works fine for what it is designed to do, but some adjustments could make it fantastic. I didnāt take any points off for the bigger size not fitting because I knew that it wouldnāt and I am not an A hole that judges size. She canāt help thatās she had wide shoulders! But this isnāt the most comfortable thing Iāve had in my cookie jar so I kept a star for that, and sheās (the cup) making my mom worry for me when I use the bathroom so I have to dock another for that. Hope this helps and jokes aside this is my honest review.

1 year later
Bought this about a year ago, there was a slight learning curve but I'm greatful it came with 2 sizes! And at such an affordable cost. I've definitely saved that amount multiple times over but not buying one use menstrual products and using this instead. I mainly use the blue one, and it has gotten a bit stained over time but I think that is largely unavoidable. Overall I'm super happy with this purchase, it makes my periods much lower maintenance and let's me forget all about it :)
