Let Love Rule

Deluxe makes one of my favorites even better.
Loved this album 20 years ago - love it today. The rawness and stripped down sound of the sixties that I hear from this let me know right off the bat that Mr. Kravitz had talent and was not going to be a one hit wonder.I have 5000 cds. This is literally one of the top 20 of them all. Actually, buy any one of his first 3 albums and you will not be disappointed (though I think this is the best - how many successful musicians always seem to put out their best stuff in their first few albums?).I am a music junky and love all the extra songs - which is why I buy many singles and EPs - for the extra tracks only. This cd has many great extras. Let Love Rule demo is really cool as is the song "Mr. Cab Driver" demo. But the strength is without a doubt the original tracks - my favorites being Rosemary, My precious Love (fantastic live song) and let love rule.If you don't own it - buy it!!!!

Song is great the invoice said whole album!
Was wanting the whole album on mp3. The button I pushed said album. Then I only got the one song. I already have the song on his greatest hits. Not sure it is worth the effort trying yo get my $$ back, but this review is worth the effort. Be careful and sure about what you're going to get.

Soup for the Soul
Hard-hitting and emotional. Kravitz puts everything he has into Let Love Rule. A brilliant album and indicator of things to come.

Nice deluxe edition, but where's the JUSTICE REMIX?
While I think this is a nice deluxe 2-CD to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Lenny's debut album LET LOVE RULE, I just don't understand why Virgin didn't see fit to include the amazing, cool JUSTICE REMIX of the title track on the physical CD edition? Sure, if you hunt it down, you can buy the download of the Justice remix, but it would be so much nicer to have it in .WAV/CD sound quality for posterity - and it would have been a nice marketing hook to buy the CD for the fans. Once again major labels fumble the punt.

This Album Rocks !
This album rocks. I love the modern retro sound of Lenny's early work. Some of the tracks are reminiscent of what a modern Curtis Mayfield would sound like. If you have never heard any of Lenny Kravitz's earlier recordings you really should give this album a try. IMHO, his earlier work is far superior to his more recent recordings.I highly recommend this album and it's a must have for any Lenny Kravitz collection !

Classic
I remember seeing Kravitz on TV one Evening many years ago promoting this album, next day i went into HMV and asked for his new album only to receive the response "Lenny Who.."How times change, a classic first album, raw, no over production and stating "heres a new talent" it was clear he was going to make the big time even then.Great album with additional live tracks,If you haven't got it buy it and see where it all started.

Superbly Crafted
So many high spots. Great album to return to frequently as there is so much variety within it. Musicianship and vocals excellent. Many of the darker themes still v current. Also a softer feel and harmonies that remind you of the Beatles e.g. "let love rule" and "I bulid this garden for us." An album you should never tire of listening too - thoroughly recommended!
