Xpelair C4HTSR 4" Simply Silent Contour bathroom extractor fan with humidistat and timer, plus choice of square and round baffles, White, 240V

I installed the Xpelair C4HTSR 4-inch extractor fan in my bathroom, and it has been working perfectly. It’s quiet, even when running on the higher setting, and does a great job of clearing steam and moisture quickly. The humidity sensor is a great feature, as it automatically turns on when needed, which is really convenient. Installation was straightforward, and the adjustable timer makes it easy to customize how long it runs after the room is used. It also looks sleek and modern, blending in well with the bathroom decor. Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient fan that does exactly what it’s supposed to. Highly recommended!

This replaced a cheaper 100mm fan which ran off an isolator switch. This new fan is running off of the same switch permanently on, with the fan powering on when the room has high humidity - perfect for our use case where we want it to be able to handle for humidity without our intervention. Has two semicircle flaps to prevent backdraught which work reasonably well, a fixing-less clamp arrangement on each side, and two fascias. Not the easiest mechanism to remove the casing to get to the controls - these could be placed somewhere accessible - but otherwise a good investment so far.

Bought this to repair an older one which was no longer working. It was easy to fit but a couple of things to note. The default setting is for the fan to run at slow speed, which was not sufficient to clear the steam in my bathroom. Changing the speed required removing the front cover, then another cover over the electrics before finally moving a jumper switch. Changing the speed setting might not have been such an issue but I found it quite difficult to get either of the covers off to make the adjustment. Once fully installed and set up right the fan is powerful and relatively quiet.

Likes: Simple to install as it was a like-for-like replacement. Quiet when running so why 3* for noise level. Has already started rattling against the side walls. Removed the cover and "twiddled" the fan. Replaced the cover and the noise has gone away. Had the same fault as the previous one but it had been in for 3 years. Dislikes. Unable to fix the "square cover" as supplied as unable to remove the circular one, no matter how hard I try. Applying any additional force will most likely break it. The fan sometimes stays on and does not go off even when the bathroom is fully clear of moisture. Consequently, we have to turn it off at the isolator switch. Switch it off and on and it works perfectly again.

Happy with this , not too noisy. Apparently you can turn the power up or down, havent figured that out, but very happy with this

very good, very low noise. to the extent sometimes doesn't feel is on if there's no perfect silence. great product. takes off the steam away from the shower (I have it just close to it) surely recommended

Easy assembly, fit well in my toilet and looks great with my choice in square or circle cover. Very functional and very quiet.
