Especially great if you hook them into to Zman jig heads. They stay in place. These lures have a lot of action, yet they are tough enough to survive short bites. It seems some fish like to grab the tail, and then take the whole Thing. Some other lures break off when the fish short bite them. The Zmans hold up well. .

I've used the Z-Man diesel minnows for a few years now. I like that they stand up to tearing and biting. I like that the company has not sacrificed lots of tail action to achieve long-lasting use. I would offer this advice. I use a super glue to help secure the front of the lure to the hook shaft and back of the lead head. Since it is rare for a fish to pull or bite off the paddle tail, they can pull it down off the head without getting the hook. The glue holds it in place longer than any lead points at the rear of the lead head.

Lure it self catches fish for sure. I use it with 1oz jig head. It swims great. If there is fish around, you definitely catch one. Durability wise, it last few fishing trips but you definitely need them separately from other plastics etc. Otherwise lure goes bad. Other than that I don’t think any fish can break this lure. It is extremely elastic. It is better to use crazy glue head part to jig head then it stays intact. I used pearl color and it worked better than other colors for me. I caught 3 strippers with it in few hours without walking alongside shoreline looking for fish. Great lure for new beginners. Just cast it wait till it sinks down to bottom then slowly retrieve it. No need for fancy twist moves etc.

I caught my PB Calico Bass (4.5# 21”) on my first day using these. It took a thrashing all day and still looks as good as new; much better than my Big Hammers that require super glue after minimal usage. They did start to ‘melt’ after only a few days in my tackle box. To avoid the chemical reaction with PVC swim baits I isolate these guys in a ziplock bag in my tackle box. Seems to work and it’s a small sacrifice to keep these with my other swim baits while out on my kayak.

I haven’t used these yet. Heading to R.I. late next week for a fishcation. Plan to sink these to the bottom off of Block Island where the big Ol cows lay.
