Rubie's DC Comics Deluxe Muscle Chest The Flash Child's Costume

I bought this for my 6 year old for Halloween. He LOVED it! He wears it all the time just hanging out at home! It is a little big so I had to do some adjusting with safety pins for Halloween. It will probably fit him next year also.

I got the medium for my 5 year old (he's 45 lbs, 45" tall) and it's a little big. The material seems really good quality though so it may hold up to multiple uses throughout this next year. Overall he is happy that some guy with a truck brought him a Flash costume for Halloween.

This costume fit as expected. My 9-year old son was IN LOVE with it! I was a little worried about the fit, because my son is a little huskier for his age, but it fit perfect. When he first tried it on he took off running outside. He FELT like the Flash! In the end, that is really all that matters, but it lost one star due to a couple of problems that were easily fixed!First problem was the lightning bolts on the head piece. They are foam filled and very "flappy". I fixed this with a couple of safety pins hidden to make them stay standing up! Otherwise they look like floppy ears!Second problem was the elastic feet straps. This is a problem with ALL of these type of costumes. The elastic on the feet that comes with the costume is crap and doesn't properly hold the foot material down. I fixed it by buying cheap elastic (which is still better than the costume elastic! ) and hand sewed a second set of elastic on both feet. It held it in place very well!Last problem was the back. There isn't much holding it together and the one connector at the top felt too tight around my son's neck. Again, I hand sewed a button and a little elastic loop to where I wanted it to connect, so it didn't choke him. I am not a sewer by any means! I think anyone can really figure it out. Safety pins might have worked too.Overall, little fixes here and there aside, this costume was a hit! I included two fun pictures. One before we went out Trick or Treating and the other when he had to take a "foot" break from all the walking (we thought that picture actually looked kind of cool and dramatic! ).

Great size. I bought it for a 7 yr old... 4'2" and 62 lbs. It fits him nicely with a little room to grow. My nephew LOVED the added muscle look:) Machine washable, however, I would recommend removing the belt before throwing in the washer. Detached headpiece. Attached boot covers are great because your child can wear the complete costume indoors & outdoors without dirtying your floors! Great quality fabric... well made costume!

Worth buying if you are prepared to make some modifications. You cannot velcro the neck closed without choking your child. It is crazy tight! There are no other velcro closures along the back. You will have to add velcro, buttons, or ties along the back to get it closed. Even though the quality is pretty poor, my son loves it (he is 5 years old and large for his age; we purchased size medium).

This costume was horrible. The muscle chest is like cardboard and parts were ripped and/or not sewn at all. He is the size of an average 6yr old and the costume (we got a medium) was unbelievably tight (couldn't even close the top velcro in back because it choked him) and very short on the torso but the legs were unreasonably long. He has several muscle chest super hero costumes - they are all made from a pretty thin spandex material with stuffing used in the muscle chest...nothing fancy but they fit well, he loves them, and look pretty nice. The only part of this costume that fit and looked good was the mask. Had it not been so pricey, I would have kept it just for that reason. Extremely disappointed...

Our 5 year old grandson is a superhero nut. He loves the outfit. One size was too big so we returned it and reordered. The Med. was perfect.

I read the reviews carefully on this costume. I also carefully followed the sizing suggestions. My grandson is 3 years old but wears a 5. The costume we got would have fit a five foot tall person. I’ve had to tailor it to fit him. The chest went from his shoulders to his thighs. Be careful what size you buy. They do not fit as a expected.I gave it two stars, one for arriving on time and two for containing all the parts.
