Works as I'd hoped, so no more paper filters
Presto 6 cup Coffee Percolator: I recently bought the Presto 6 cup coffee percolator (from another company) and none of the videos or descriptions mentioned that you needed paper filters - that part conveniently left out. It looked like you could use as is. I was disappointed to discover that they recommended using paper filters, and sent a few in the box. They were fine to use, if a bit annoying to insert (diameter a bit small) and I did notice some coffee sediment at the bottom of my cup and percolator (not a deal breaker). The percolator itself is small (does not take up much space on counter), neat, dinky, lovely to look at and just marvelous. Can be tricky connecting all the sections, but that just takes a wee bit of practice. Loving it and so far, very happy with it.Tops perma-brew coffee filter: I bought this filter to avoid having to continue buying paper ones. A lot of reviews were negative because, imho, while it does indicate that it fits 'most' coffee makers, it does say the measurements are 3½", which is not big enough for a 12 cup. So, that was helpful for me to spot as my 6 cup percolator is 3½" in diameter. Anyway, it arrived the other day and I used it with all of the percolator inserts and just by itself and it worked fine. The taste was perfect and no coffee sediment at all – (that could depend on the type of coffee, the grind, etc) - but it worked great for my needs. So far, very happy with this perma-brew filter. Thanks

A must have for your percolator
I have the Farberware Yosemite 8 cup stove top percolator Farberware 50124 Classic Yosemite Stainless Steel Percolator and have been using it and this filter for more than a month. Thus far, it's an excellent replacement for messy paper filter discs. Even better, it has done a flawless job of keeping coffee grounds out of the final brew. I noticed at least one review with a complaint about this filter not doing the job and I find that to be truly unbelievable. If you have a typical stove top percolator in the 10 cups or less range (and you know how to use it) then this filter is a no-brainer. I am not using any special grind of coffee nor do I have to run the metal percolator basket under water first. I get identical and flawless results with both coarse and fine bean grinds. Fill the filter with the appropriate amount of ground coffee, drop it into the percolator basket and cover with the basket cover. That's it. It cleans up in a snap, is as pure white as the day it arrived and is well-made for a very reasonable price.BREW TIP: I like a strong brew and have found a CUPS+2 formula works great. I use an ordinary teaspoon from my kitchen flatware. Example: if you fill the percolator with water up to the 6 cup mark then you would add 6+2 heaping teaspoons of ground coffee to the filter. That's 8 teaspoons for the math challenged. Subtract 1 or 2 teaspoons for a less hearty brew.FILLING TIP: The central cylinder on this filter is open at the top and bottom so that it can drop into a variety of percolator baskets. It resides in an already tight space and can make adding ground coffee to the filter a bit awkward. I avoid waste, odd teaspoon angling (and the cute, little counter mound that forms from the grinds that fall through the cylinder hole) with an ordinary marble. Use it to cover the cylinder hole, drop your ground coffee directly over it and remove the marble before you drop the filter into the percolator basket. It's bigger than the hole but small enough that it acts as a perfect dispersion tool for the grounds. A spherical bead or similar object works just as well.Happy brewing!

Tops Disk coffee filter
I was shocked by the miniature size of this filter. As you can see by the pictures it is Way too small for coffee makers. This affects the Quality of the product. I cannot even use it in my percolator; the coffee grounds are over the top and fall into the water. It can’t be used. The description is misleading.

Works Great But a Bit Small
I recently bought this re-usable coffee filter because of the rising cost of paper disk coffee filters. I have a Presto 12-cup percolator coffee maker, and this re-usable filter fit inside the metal basket just fine. It made a great cup of coffee and there was minimal if any coffee grounds in the bottom of the pot! My only problem with this product is that it is SMALL. I can easily make up to 6 cups of coffee in my percolator using this filter, but it will definitely not hold enough ground coffee to make 12 cups. I do plan to keep this product since I usually make 4-6 cups of coffee at a time, but please note the small size.

Better than a paper filter
I have an update for you. I have been bothered since I started using this product by weak coffee. It seems that when you use the cover to the original coffee cup, it allows the perked water to run around the new filter. To solve this, I have started leaving the original cover off from the coffee basket, low and behold, all the water is going through the coffee and not around it, and the strong coffee I desire is once again in my cup. Still no grounds though.I misread the product description. I got the impression that the basket was 3 1/2" because the text said that it took a 3 1/2" paper filter. When I opened the package and saw what looked to be too small, it is only 3", I also noticed that the hole for the where the basket sits on the stem that the whole was larger that the hole on the original basket. The new basket is not to replace the old basket, but any filters for the old basket. The new basket fits right over the old basket stem. I have made some delicious coffee with this set up. It is a bit tricky to get the grounds into the smaller basket when it is in place in the coffee pot. I am going to try filling it before I put into the old basket with the hope that it will be easier.I am making the BEST cup of coffee ever. I, much prefer perk coffee over drip coffee because to me, it has a much more robust deep flavor. Drip is too clean and light with less flavor.

Works great
I find it works fine for me in my electric percolator. It is small and other reviews say it’s too small, this would be true if you like very strong coffee or espresso.

To big
Very well made BUT, does not fit most percolators. To big and not worth sending back.
