Campsite coffee that's great.
I have used mine at my campsite and am very satisfied. If you do it right this pot cooks good coffee. I use a 12 cup carafe and 3 inch tea strainer to eliminate grounds in my coffee. It doesn't require as much heat as I first thought. A moderate to low flame will get it done. Be patient because it does take a while but the end results will be satisfying. Six tablespoons is enough coffee unless you favor stronger or weaker coffee. I let it percolate for 8 minutes Whatever design flaws might have been present have been eliminated. I turned the sight glass until it starts to snug up and then backed off 1/8 of a turn. They do add an extra sight glass just in case but an easy touch is all that is needed. If you have gorilla hands incapable of a light touch let someone else attach it. Stainless steel is the way to go and I anticipate years of good coffee with this percolator.

Great Coffee
I love coffee and there's nothing better than percolated coffee. I purchased my first percolator a couple of years ago - an electric version by Hamilton Beach - and I knew I would never go back to a drip coffee maker again. There is simply no comparison in the two methods. Unfortunately, my electric percolator stopped working recently. Apparently making a better cup of coffee doesn't mean it's reliable or built to last. I was determined to find a coffee pot that would last and this stainless steel stove-top percolator is exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfectly on the small burner on my stove and makes wonderful coffee. It also makes my kitchen smell great when the coffee is brewing, much better than the electric percolator. The best part? It should last forever. I would recommend this product to anyone that loves a good cup of coffee and is tired of having to purchase a coffee maker every couple of years. It's a well made product that should outlast any electric coffee maker.

The best I could find
This is a pretty good percolator. I have seen older ones (made in USA) that were nicer, however this one is of acceptable quality. The glass knob at the top hasn't broken on me after 15 months of use, and they did send a second one in case it ever does, though I have no idea where it is at this point (nobodys fault but mine) If I bought another one, I'd read reviews and try to find a better brand, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was nothing better and I ended up getting the same brand/model again.

Great old-time perculator
Purchased this peculator as a gift for my son-in-law to use on his antique cast iron stove. They use their old stove (1903 vintage) as an extra cooking appliance and as a source of heat. (Their primary source of heat is wood, and they have 9 members in their family.) I was impressed by the quality of materials used in this perculator, as well as the wood handle so that burning of the hand does not occur when gripping the handle. Also very impressed with the top "hook" feature that allows the user to place the perculator on a back burner, and retrieve it with a pole or some other retrieval device. This coffee perculator makes enough coffee for those who like big mugs, and allows for the reasonable keeping of the coffee warm for use over several hours. The 14 cup size is a perfect size for everyday use. My son-in-law used this perculator within an hour of receiving it, and loves it!

Five Stars
I did have to return the first percolator as the hinge on the lid was damaged and the basket did not fit properly on the stem. The coffee did boil all over and the coffee ground spewed out of the basket making one heck of a mess. I contacted Amazon Customer Service and got a replacement one hassle free. The new coffee pot works great. Keeps the coffee hot until the last drop!Thank you Amazon Customer Service for your prompt, efficient assistance.

I don't know
All around decent purchased it for camping trip. Now the whiney part. Washing it before the trip, lid went inside pot, cut finger bring to get it out, four stitches later, trying to scrub label off( that's some industrial glue), putting it together to pack up and purculator part rolls off counter and bends at the base, try to bend it back an it broke off. So now gonna have cowboy coffee an pain meds.
