How many burgers can you put on it?

Depends on what size the one you have is. The small one 1 burger. There is a large version as well. Personally I use a cast iron skillet or a camping frying pan.

Does this reduce the smoke from the burning wood?

This is a standard wood burning stove albeit, a compact model. Being a wood burner it will create smoke, ash, and burning embers when in use. The same precautions that apply to an open fire will apply to this as well. Adequate VENTING and CLEARANCE from combustibles must be maintained to operate it safely.
