T.W Evans Cordage 07-080 8 Poly Cotton Twine 2.5-Pound Cone, 6000-Feet

This was ordered for a quilt I am tacking for a great friend. He wants an authentic antique quilt. Tobacco twine was what they used long ago.

We finally ran out of string in our antique newspaper bundler and this fit the bill perfectly. I can't tell the difference between this "string" and what we were using, and that's a good thing. Good quality, no frays.Edit - This item number and what you get no longer match up. They went from a 4-ply of thicker string to an 8-ply of thinner string. When I reordered this, I noticed it was still 4-ply, but much thinner and did not suit my use at all. I had to order direct from T.W. Evans to get the right diameter stuff. The description and what you receive via Amazon do not match up.

it is a Poly Cotton blend and not 100% cotton, however ther is only a couple tiny strands to help strengthen it. My use requires 100% cotton and I tried this product and it worked (dont recommend for food use)

This is gorgeous string for crocheting bags. Will order it again once I've blown throw 6000 feet. I'm about 2\3rd of the way there.

I bought this to use for kindling. Was a great price and seemed to fit the bill. I find this twine breaks super easy, I cannot tighten my rolls of kindling without breaking. If you plan on using this just to make crafts or to tie up bags then it would work. For anything weighing over 8lbs it will break. Would not recommend and will not buy again
