I needed something that locked to keep my password book in at my office. I didn't have a lot of room and it had to be in a place that was visible. This was perfect. It's big enough to fit the book in without a problem, it locks and unlocks easily and it looks like other books on my shelf. The "pages" part doesn't look very realistic but you can't really tell when it's on the shelf. I would highly recommend this product.

I purposely bought this dictionary book safe to use as a single gun safe to be placed in a strategic location in my home. The book safe looks very authentic down to the fabric-like materials used in the cover. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to know it was anything but a dictionary. It can hold just about any handgun (revolver or semi-auto) up to about 8.5 in. in length, 5.5 in. high & under 2 in. wide. An example for the maximum size would be the S&W Governor. Although I would recommend not using it for guns at the safe's dimension-limit as they prove more difficult to extract if needed quickly.

First off I actually bought this of my own free will and wasn't paid to review. I would like to say this is a great little incognito safe. I bought this book safe to hide my rent money. (My landlord only accepts cash... He's a weeny, but anyway.) I really appreciate the locking mechanism. This is a awesome diversion safe, but bare in mind if someone (thieves maybe?) was to throw this baby off of a bookshelf or actually lift it up, they would notice it's a cleverly disguised hiding spot and all of your "preciouses" **smeagle's voice** (or my rent money) would be discovered. I still love this book safe regardless though, wish the pages where real paper to give this safe a more realistic book feel (but I knew the pages were plastic before I bought this, so why complain?) Still a great safe, it will definitely protect your goods but in the event someone (or thieves) want to use (steal) a dictionary your hiding-spot ("preciouses") would be discovered.

Looks like a real book. I purchased this to protect pain medication I have to keep from falling into the wrong hands. On the shelf nobody would expect this wasn't a book because even the edges look like pages of paper. This isn't made more for preventing someone from breaking in like an actual safe, but more so something doesn't realize that you are hiding something valuable. Not like someone couldn't just take the entire book safe with them and bust it open later, but the fact they will probably never know this is a safe because most people don't look at book shelves if they are rummaging thru your belongings. I placed this among other ordinary books and it fits right in. I don't even have to worry about my kids looking for a dictionary because who actually uses dictionaries when they have call phones. I can't believe they still make phone books..lol

Ordered the Wholeness Home Wholeness Home Large Dictionary Book Safe: Hide Your Valuables in Plain Sight - Diversion Safe with Locks - 2 Keys Included! Steel Interior - Cloth Like Exterior Looks Like a Real Book and the Trademark Home Trademark Home Dictionary Diversion Book Safe with Key Lock, Metal Diversion Book Safe and could not tell the difference between the higher cost Wholeness and the lower cost Trademark models. Both appear to have the same material texture covering, however, the higher cost Wholeness model has more definition (when close up), but both models present well. Both have identical "plastic" pages surrounding the inside case. The appearance of both models would indicate they are identical. The difference is the inside box. The Wholeness model presents with a steel case, The Trademark model presents with a metal case. The cases are not fireproof, and do not offer a tight seal. The title on the spine of the lower cost Trademark model is not centered across the spine, is slightly crooked, and the lettering is thicker than the higher cost Wholeness model. With regards to the spine presentation, the Wholeness product presents much better than the Trademark product, as it is more refined, but not so much as to justify the price difference between these two products. Both products will blend well with other books on a bookshelf. Inside deminsions are slightly different: Wholeness measures 8 & 5/16 x 5 & 11/16 x 2". Trademark measures 9 &1/8 x 5 11/16 x 2". Tradmark product has 3/16" additional space from top to bottom inside. Wholeness outside demision is about 3/16"" smaller than the Trademark model. Wholeness product is about 35% more costly than the Trademark product. The differences are slightly more space in the lower cost Trademark model and a better Spine presentation with the higher cost Wholeness model (which is what someone will observe from a book shelf). I will return both products, The Wholeness product because the lower cost Trademark product will do for my purposes. The Trademark product will be returned for what I believe to be defective workmanship. I will mention the uncentered and crooked spine print and hope I will receive a better crafted one.

A pretty useful and well-made product. The camouflage is good, better than the only other hidden-book storage box I've used; without actually opening it, I can't tell it isn't real. There's enough space inside for cash, passports, folded paperwork, or various other small items. I somewhat question the usefulness of having a keyed lock; it's trivial to carry the safe away whole if you find it, and I can't imagine it would be too difficult to cut open given shop facilities. But it's a useful hedge against casual or covert theft, and it'll keep curious children out at least.

I got the for my parents to keep small valuables out of sight. They live in an assisted living location and have concerns about things going missing. It is a very realistic looking book that will not draw attention to itself. In fact, I had this sitting on our dinning room table when my wife came in and was asking why I had bothered to buy a new dictionary. Once you start to handle the "book" it is clear it is not a traditional book. It is good for stashing stuff and keeping it out of sight, but please don't think of this as a safe. I am pretty sure a simple crowbar will be able to force this open if my parents ever lost the keys. It is great for casual storage of stuff out of sight, if that is what you are looking for. Enjoy.

It was a few more dollars than another one I was looking at and not possible to compare without seeing them in person but this product is very nice. The lock is not going to prevent anyone who is serious about getting in good enough and the book does look like a book and is best hidden by being in a bookshelf vs. sitting out. It is just what I was looking for and it shipped very quickly. Very happy with product and seller.
