Classy & functional
I wore this to my husband's work gala that was out of town. We had to drive there so I needed something that was comfortable and wouldn't wrinkle and this DIDN'T disappoint!I loved the high collar, waistline (which is hard to get my approval), material and bonus was the pockets!!

The little black dress you must have in your closet!
Vintage look that never ages. This dress is so versatile that you can dress up or down and simply look flawless. I bought a petty coat from Amazon to improve the skirt volume but aside from that, nothing was changed. I wore size large but the fabric is stretchy and could have sized down. I am 5'3 158 lbs with 38D. Would have wanted to wear retro heels but I fractured my ankle 2 months ago and I would have not been able to walk. Lol.

Instant compliments; significant shrinkage
UPDATE, AFTER WASHINGAlas, this shrank so much after being washed in cold water and line-dried that it's now become a minidress, which looks stupid on me, so I'm giving it away. So be prepared to dry clean it, unless you like your hems to land well above the knee.------------------------I got a compliment literally *the minute* I walked into the office wearing this. Perfect length, gorgeous color, flattering sleeves, makes me feel Ready For Anything.I'm about 210 lbs, 44-37-46, 38G rack, so I got the XXL. It fits perfectly, except that the surplice top crosses too low for office-level propriety, which is the story with just about every surplice dress, on me. So I've worn it with a Grey Cotton No Lace Modesty Panel Cleavage Cover Chemisettes by Anne Sz E/xx and will probably sew the surplice closed, whenever I muster the patience to do so.The only other negatives I can think of are:1. The fabric is very substantial. Which is a plus! It smooths over lumps and bumps, doesn't cling. But it's definitely not summer wear for NYC, so I'l about to have to put it away for a couple of months, which makes me sad.2. The sash is made of different material from the dress. It's stretchier and softer, which is good for a sash, but this also means it's ever so slightly different in shade from the dress. Perhaps the same dye was used, but it reflects light differently.3. No pockets. But we're all used to that, alas.4. I am kicking myself, because I bought a VERY expensive but similarly styled dress at a local shop a few weeks ago, and then I got this one, which is dirt cheap, and…I like this one better. Oh, well. I guess that's not the dress's fault.

Spectacular
I felt absolutely beautiful in this dress. I saw a friend with it and she encouraged me to get one and it was one of the best decisions I've made. It fits wonderful, true to size and the material feels amazing. Great quality.

This dress is fantastic!
This is the first piece of clothing I have ever bought on Amazon. Based on previous reviews, I purchased this dress. And I am really glad that I did. Absolutely amazing. I am in a band, and I bought it for our first gig, and I felt so good in it! Having the belt at the waist that isn’t attached or sewn in makes it really forgiving as to the waist size. I will be able to wear this even if my weight should happen to change. My bust size was smaller than this was made for, so in the interim, I just used a heavy double sided sticky tape to keep it closed about 1/2” up from the snap. I’ll take it in to the tailor to have it altered to fit properly. The length was great. Just below the knee. I wore it with a pair of boots that come to the top of my calves, and it was great. The fabric has a great hand (it’s sort of like a thin neoprene) and it hides a lot of sins, so to speak. It falls really well over the body. It was *not* hot to wear. The fiber content on the tag was clearly wrong (it said 100% cotton), so I’m not sure what it is.I got it in black. It’s a very rich black, had a nice sheen, without being shiny. It was wrinkled when it showed up, but I hung it up, and a lot of them hung out. A couple of days in the bathroom exposed to steam in there from the shower, and most of them were gone. The last of them I hit with the iron. It took five minutes.I did order a crinoline to wear with it, but I didn’t wear it to the gig. It is very cute with it, however. I will probably use it the next time I wear the dress. If in doubt, or on the fence, buy it. You can always return it. I doubt you will!

Not as shown in photos...
Nice Navy color- dress not as shown, there are no pleats, the bow as shown in the pictures doesn't come tied. It is a wide flat sash that will not stay tied due to slippery material, and there are no belt loops to keep it from riding up from the waste. I ordered a 12/14 and the fit was tight, especially in the chest area. It does have a slip under the skirt which is a bonus. The sleeves are 3/4 length and have button accents. The dress arrived in a very thin clear plastic wrapper, and arrived wrinkled as it was in a package that was way to small. The fabric has stretch and it actually is comfortable, but again smaller than an actual 12/14- size up one and start practicing your bows...be prepared to steam out the wrinkles. I might actually buy this dress again in a larger size and add my own belt for effect.

Wore once
Its a beautiful dress really. But the fabric is way too stiff. To be fair I probably could have gone down a size. I felt like I was wearing a cardboard dress. No matter how much I moved, the dress didnt. Stayed the same. Hard to describe
