On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, greeted by scores of screaming, swooning fans who rushed the gate to catch a glimpse of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they took their first steps on American soil. Two nights later, on Sunday, February 9, 73 million viewers in the U.S. and millions more in Canada tuned in to CBS to watch The Beatles make their American television debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show.’ In what remains one of the world’s top-viewed television events of all time, The Beatles performed five songs on the live broadcast and ‘Beatlemania,’ already in full, feverish bloom in The Beatles’ native U.K., was unleashed with blissful fervor across America and around the world. The British Invasion had begun. The U.S. albums were originally issued between 1964 and 1970 by Capitol Records, Apple Records, and United Artists in the United States. These new releases seek to replicate the unique listening experience heard by Americans at the time by preserving the sequences, timings, and artwork found on the albums. Capitol’s engineers in the 1960s took great care to produce what they believed to be the best possible sound for the playback equipment in use at that time. Due to the limitations of the record players of the day, engineers often compressed the sound by raising the volume of the softer passages and lowering the volume for the louder parts of the songs. They also reduced the bass frequencies since too much bass could cause the record to skip. In some cases, reverb was added to the tracks to make them sound more “American.” This CD is packaged in a miniature vinyl sleeve that faithfully recreates the original U.S. LP release down to the finest detail, including the inner sleeve. THE EARLY BEATLES was originally released March 22, 1965 in the U.S. This album is a limited edition release. Review: Mono rules - Contains most of the Beatles first album (British version) minus the great "I Saw Her Standing There" and "There's a Place." The songs were originally parsed out to various labels but once Capitol signed the band they took possession of the songs and released them in the USA. It's only value is it presents the songs in both their mono and stereo versions and the mono version is terrific. The sound is "In the room" impactful, you feel on some songs you can almost reach out and touch one of the band. Since the stereo versions are also on the album, you can do an A/B comparison and hear why Beatles veterans insist it's the mono mix to go with on their early albums up through Sgt. Ppper. Review: ...all the material is so strong. - More perfection from the Fab Four. This CD comes with both the mono and stereo versions of the album. These guys certainly earned their status as possibly the greatest band of all time. Lyrically and musically they hit it out of the park. Even when they do covers it's like the song is all theirs. I cannot pick any kind of favorite tune here, all the material is so strong. But "P.S. I Love You," "Baby It's You" and "Do You Want To Know A Secret" are all among my favorite early Beatles stuff. "A Taste Of Honey" has a stunning McCartney vocal, and Lennon's vocal on "Anna" is one of his strongest in any period. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention "Love Me Do," "Twist And Shout" and "Please Please Me" three songs that are easily in the top bracket of early Beatles songs. We even get a Ringo sung tune here. I cannot recommend highly enough ALL Beatles music. It simply does not get any better than what this band did.

Better than I thought
I thought for sure the album after all these years would be in a not so good condition but I was wrong. The Album cover itself was in perfect condition as was the sleeve for it. The album itself had one scratch on it but when I played it on the record player, the song played with no problems. I love the beatles and love the sound of the vinyl on the record player. Thank you so much. Having the Beatles album brings back such memories of when I was younger and used to play all the records down in my basement.

Good quality CD
I like the selection of songs but I don't like that all the songs are repeated twice once in mono and again in stereo.

Another Beatles classic
Contains several gems which Lennon-McCartney penned. Also has some covers that show the Beatles wide-ranging tastes in music. All-in-all a solid album.

pretty much UK's Please Please Me Album
A Good album for it's time. The Beatles were still growing as song writers. Of course the song writing team of Lennon/McCartney was the best ever1 Best for me are "Twist and Shout" "Anna" "Please Please Me" "A Taste of Honey" and " Do You Want to Know a Secret" Oh yeh Gearge had some great songs too.

Even Early the Beatles Were Great
Nice to have both the Mono and stereo tracks all on one disc. Good value. The sound quality of the Mono and the stereo tracks is excellent. My favorite tracks are Love Me Do, Twist and Shout and Please Please Me. This is the US Capitol Records version with some of the same songs as the first UK Beatles album Please Please Me. The stereo tracks are true stereo unlike the original Capitol LP which had fake stereo. My understanding is that the Mono tracks are true Mono unlike the original Mono LP that had fold down Mono taken from the stereo recordings.

This edition is really good!! The cover and the cd pressing is outstanding! The different way the Beatles was presented to the Americans, gives to this timeless creation deepness and richness. Even if you have the UK albums...you should try this, you know...it is magical.
