Meg Mackintosh Mysteries Set: Books 1-4 (Meg Mackintosh Mystery series)

Gave this series to my granddaughter for her 8th birthday. She is reading at the 4th grade level and this was perfect. We immediately read the Case of the Missing Baseball. As soon as we finished we set out on creating our own mystery scavenger hunt with the rest of the family. She gobbled up both series I got her and i am waiting, as she is, for the next set to be published. It is hard to find books appropriate for this age of reader who is advanced in their reading skills. Thank you for offering this for our young readers.

Great for teachers

I ordered this set of books along with the RJ boy detective books as a Christmas gift for our neighbors son who is mildly autistic. He loves to read mysteries. I thought between both sets he would have fun reading and helping figure out the "who done it's". Unfortunately I never heard back from mom or dad if he read them, liked them or anything, so I can't really give a full rating, so Im rating on the fact that they were as described by the seller, arrived in perfect condition. The seller came through, I wish mom and or dad had the courtesy to do the same.

Meg Mackintosh has become one of our go-to gifts for elementary-age kids. The stories are engaging to both kids and parents. We got our niece books 1-4 for Christmas (she had never heard of the series) and then 5-8 for her birthday a few months later. When she opened the second set, she was ecstatic, because she loved the first ones so much. She dove in immediately. Why Meg Mackintosh isn't more widely known / read is the real mystery!

My advanced-reader seven-year old granddaughter would have no problem reading these books. However, it's a matter of relevance. She's never been on a whale watch or to overnight camp, and hasn't a clue who Babe Ruth is, for instance. These issues would seriously detract from her finding the series "a winner." I'm saving these books till she's older and has a broader frame of reference on life.

My kid loves these books. Wish there were more than just 8 in the series.

This book series is excellent! I gave it to my GF's daughter adopted from China and they read every night about the Meg's adventures. Highly recommend!

My eight year old daughter loves them, and she's at the perfect age. We got the first 4, and we're going to get the rest.
