December 2020: What you need to know....
I bought this gadget for my daughter and son-in-law who are being deployed to Kuwait for a year. I am kittysitting my grandkitty while they are gone. I received the item yesterday and here's my experience: -the information they provide is fairly limited, especially for setting it up for others. There's about 7 pages of info in the booklet. We did figure it out and my kids were playing with their kitty within a half hour. I'm in MN, they were at Ft. Hood, TX. -the setup went very fast for me on this end as the first person with the product in hand. I have an iphone and was getting video within minutes. All the features work well.......treats, spinning, etc. It does so many entertaining commands as a toy! -if you are wondering, yes, it comes with the cat toy. There are two panels that come with it. One has an attachment for the toy. I was really happy about that because I wasn't sure it was part of the package at first. You just change out that cover and put the one on with the hook for the toy. The cat toy is a bit hard to attach. You must pull it through this little plastic clip and it will snap in. You can see it in the photo I've included. It hangs right in front of the toy. -I researched many of these kinds of toys/camera before I purchased. Honestly, I wasn't sure about this one as there seems to have been some problems with the app. We have used it on both android and iphone and it's working perfectly. Some reviews said their dog chewed it up. Well, that's certainly possible depending how big your dog is and whether they like to chew and destroy! For a cat, this is great! Our cat can pull on the hanging toy fairly well, but I haven't seen any problems with the unit not functioning well. It's not made out of titanium folks! You need to consider your pet before you decide to buy. -I have not used the charger yet. It worked right away out of the box, but I will update as time goes. My biggest hope is the kids will be able to see/talk/feed their kitty when they are in Kuwait. We'll see and again, I will update as time goes. It took just a bit of adjustment time for our cat to get used to hearing the voice, treats, spinning, etc. She loves it and is now napping after my daughter played with her for 20 minutes. Very pleased with my purchase and it will make life a bit more fun for my kids so many miles away from home. Our pets are so important to all of us. Thanks, Skymee!

No reliable, don’t trash your money
I was expecting to use this when we are out of home, so we can check in our two small dogs. I really wanted it work but it doesn’t. Very disappointed. First of all, the mic/speaker doesn’t work every time. Sometimes I can get the mic works but not every time. I contacted Helpdesk and they answer at night (located outside the US) and w/o a real solution for your problem. Anyway, I was willing to give the device the opportunity. But the big problem came when we left for thanksgiving for two days. Even a friend of mine was checking in the pups, we wanted to be able to see them, given them treats etc. it was imposible!! During those two days we were able to connect for few sec in the morning (both days), the rest of the day and night it was imposible to access to the robot, it was with status CONNECTING and never worked again during the rest of the day. Then when I came back at home yesterday, it started working again, I mean I can get the status online to access to the robot. But I need it to work when we are not at home, that is the idea of having this device. Please note that the Helpdesk replied (they did the first day when I was out town and didn’t reply my other messages until today when I’m at home already -they didn’t answer my questions or helped either) that the problem was caused because it was not close to the wifi access! My house is small and wifi access is good all around, but the robot was located all time in the office area where we have the wifi router!! and I have other devices working with the wifi w/o problem. The Helpdesk is not helpful either. They didn’t answer for days. And when they do they don’t actually answer your questions and try to help you with the problem. Not chat option or phone to call either. I’m going to travel out of the country for few weeks, and of course this device doesn’t work!! Again it’s not reliable. It doesn’t work!! I’ll request a return/refund today. Just wanted to send this warning to people who is planning to buy this robot device.

This is a great addition to monitoring and interacting with your pets....
This is easy to navigate, the camera quality is excellent, the product appears to be tough made and not cheap quality, the microphone seems to work good, and there are several neat features and tricks within the app. It is equipped to take an SD Card where you can snap pics and videos on demand from your phone. This toy allows great interaction with your pets. I use it for my dogs but I think my cat is more intrigued with it than my dogs. My cat follows it around from room to room whenever I use it. Not a bad thing considering she is overweight and needs to move around more! It came with a cat toy you can install on top of the unit that will encourage interaction but my cat knows how to pull it off so its not much fun playing with her. I actually purchased it to monitor my dogs and interact with them when I'm not home. It has a motion option on the app along with a cruise setting (where you can program the owl to run a selected pathway through your house or room). I haven't really used the cruise setting since I can control it whenever anyhow. The neat thing I like is the two-way communication it has. I can select to hear what's going on or I can mute it. I keep it muted most of the time while driving because you can hear the motor running when it is being driven and its noisy. If I have it in a stationary location, I will take it off mute and turn the mic on so I can talk to my dogs or cat and potentially get them to speak to me. Another cool feature is it will send you a notification on your phone when the food supply is empty. It has a decent size storage compartment for what it is. I use small (1/4'' maybe) round dog food to put in it. It takes about three handfuls to fill it up. It has an intelligent touch feature on the app that will dispense treats when it is touched between its eyes. My dog figured out that feature very fast and she is a 16 yr old Australian Shepherd mix. I primarily have it to monitor her when I am not home and to encourage her to become more mobile throughout the day. The battery life is pretty good too. It probably takes about 5 or 6 hours to charge it up but it can run for several weeks without needing to be charged again. I'm sure if I was on it all day everyday it wouldn't last that long. However, I do load up the app usually at least once every several days. Overall, I have had this for 3 months now and I am very satisfied with it so far. My dogs and my cat seem to enjoy it too!

Fun device once figuring out connection to wifi issues
*Edit: it worked perfectly all day while I was at work, but then I went out to dinner and it had completely stopped connecting again (despite having full bars) until I got home. Going to have to test it some more. Hopefully I won't need to return it because it's a cool device, but I need it to work reliably. I've only had this device for a couple of days (and today is the first day it has worked while away) but so far I really enjoy having it. Setup was relatively easy; it was out of the box and rolling around in less than 30 minutes. It worked great while I was home, but then while I was at work the next day it couldn't connect even once out of the 30 or so times I tried. It kept saying, "Loading, please wait a moment... network connection failed please check or make sure a good network environment and reconnect later", which rendered it completely useless. I did some googling and I think the connection issue was due to my router/5G Wifi. I have a Netgear Nighthawk mesh router that doesn't allow the creation of a separate 2.4G only SSID for devices (that I could find). It has both options on different channels, but no way to connect to one versus the other. I found a potential workaround by deleting the device from the app and forcing the connection at 2.4G by basically just moving far enough away from the router (I went and sat in my car because that was far enough for my system) that 2.4 was the only option available and adding it into the app at that point. It threw a few "connection unavailable" errors and I had to reset it a couple of times (it ended up adding the owl even though the app said it didn't), but it finally seemed to work. I'm away from the house today and it has successfully activated each time I've tried. It won't allow me to change the speed off of low (battery is at 53%), so not sure what that's about, but it isn't a big deal. Pros: -Good picture - both in color and night-vision. -Comes charged. -I love that it drops treats, and especially that it drops the treats and then automatically backs up a bit. (Works very well with Temptations cat treats!) When my more food-motivated cat found out treats came out of it, he bat at it all night until every single treat had come out. I learned quickly to turn off the "give treat after interaction" setting (though it took a few tries!! When I turned this setting off originally it continued to drop treats. I had to turn it off and on a few times and wait a bit before it finally stopped.) -It's bigger than I expected, but a really nice size. -I like that it comes with the cat wand (though it can get in the way of the camera) and extra little ball-wheels. -I like that you can zoom the camera. -I love the two-way audio and the ability to save pictures and video. -I love that it's movable so one camera allows me to view multiple locations around my living space. Cons: -We have mostly hardwood floors, but a thick oriental rug with tassels in the dining room. While the robot glides over hardwood easily, it really does not like carpet and the transition spot where the tassels are is almost impossible to traverse. It needs a lot of back and forth and manipulation to get over it. (Not entirely unexpected, though.) -Relatively loud. The first time it beeped during set-up both of my curious cats skittered from the room like a bomb went off, and the sound of the motor through the app while driving is pretty overpowering. (Again, not really unexpected.) -I was under the impression that if the cats go up to the owl and wake/play with it after it has been in sleep mode that I would get an alert on my app. So far that hasn't happened. Not sure if it's a setting somewhere. -The app is fine. Not terrible, but definitely not user-friendly to navigate. It has settings that you can turn on or off, but it doesn't explain what they do. Also, there's no way I can find to change the time zone, which seems odd since there's a timestamp on the camera. -There was a lot of frustration due to the 2.4G/5G issue and I thought I'd just have to return the device since I couldn't separate it on my router. While Skymee does a good job of making sure the customer knows 5G isn't supported, I hope 5G is available in the future to avoid this frustration. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it. I just hope it continues to not have connection issues.

Nice product but…
The OWL is a bit difficult to setup on Wi-Fi but once up it works pretty good. The battery life is great the motion detection is good but only if within 2 to 3 ft and it’s different with lighting conditions. The biggest issue is the lose of connection to Wi-Fi and unless touched or motion is detected, the app will not come to life without one of these interactions. Overall it’s a nice toy my cat however wasn’t very impressed even with dropping treats.

My dog loves it!
Honestly a solid product, I'm so glad I purchased it. At first, my dog was a little bit scared of the robot toy as she has never seen one before but after getting her used to it, she loves it. I always see her playing with it and waiting for it to dispense her some food. The app works great and the battery life is phenomenal, it still haven't had to charge it after taking it out of the box! This device is great since I am at work for most of the day, on my breaks I'm able to log right in on the app and see what my little pup is doing haha. For the most part, she's always either waiting for me at the door or waiting with her face next to the machine, it's so cute. My favorite thing about it is that you can take pictures and videos with it. They work great and it saves right into your camera roll. I have taken so many pictures of my dog with this and the angles are always great. It also lets me talk with my dog and it lets me hear what she's doing too! It can either manually distribute treats with a push of a button or it can also give treats by itself through interaction from my dog. I love telling her to sit through the microphone and give her some good treats when she sits. All remotely from wherever I am! This is truly a wonderful product that my dog and my family both love. I would highly recommend it.

My cat thinks it's a waiter and he follows it around to get treats
This product isn't perfect (specifics below) but it does exactly what it shows in the video and is loads of fun. My cat hears the Owl robot start up and he is up checking it out. I have it follow him around the house, or more accurately, he usually follows it. Lays down in front of it and waits for it to poop out treats for him to eat. He is not afraid of it at all. In fact, he will even let it bump into him before he moves. The negatives are that you can't change speeds unless your phone is on the same wifi network as the Owl robot. I have rugs on hardwood floors and the Owl robot can't get over the edge of some of them on low speed without some maneuvering. And I have had issues with the microphone, both for speaking and listening in, not always coming on when you tap the icon. But one thing I don't think they tell you is that the Owl robot has a number of preprogrammed "moves" that are really cool. Just hit the icon and the Owl robot waddles back and forth while moving forward, or it spins in two complete circles, etc. There are five preprogrammed moves. ALSO, after you dispense treats, it wobbles back and forth and backs up slightly so your cat can get to the treats.

Not what I expected
I have been using this robot for about a month. The cat has become familiar with it and no longer avoids it. The problem is with DRIVING it remotely which is a total fail. Left and right are always switching...I can hold down the left button in the app. and it goes left but after a quarter turn it tries to go right. Makes no sense. The only consistant direction is forward and backward. As for the automatic roaming and pet interaction it simply does not work. When the device is hibernating the cat loves to play with the attached feather....big deal I could have tacked a feather to the wall. It does give good video night and day and you can hear and talk through it. This bit works. If the driving worked it might be worth the money. You can also drop food remotely the app. is less than ideal. This product needs to be worked on and it could be something useful.

Excellent Product, Great Service, Reassuring
I love everything about the owl robot! It’s very reassuring for those occasions we need to go out leaving our pup behind. Quality is great, easy set up, night vision works perfectly, picture quality and sound/mic is clear and you can adjust the speed to which work best for you and the type of flooring you have; excellent value for money. I cant really fault it, the only time i had a problem which connection through the app, i contacted the company and they supported me in fixing the issue very quickly, they are very approachable as i have asked them questions regarding the robot and they have been kind enough to continue with their after care, which is rare from a lot of companies these days. I strongly advise purchasing this product with them. My puppy Milo loves his little robot friend and the treats dispensed.

Strong Functions for caring about pets remotely
We bought it before we leave for our vacation in Mexico. It is fantastic with powerful functions! We can watch our cat via camera, and talking with it, several funny movements successfully attract it to spend boring, lonely time at home. Furthermore, sending treats is the most expecting thing for the pet. Recommended!
