I read the reviews before purchasing and everyone is correct about the thermometer not working, but I have noticed that if you follow the cooking temps and times that are recommended everything cooks very well. So far I have air fried pork chops, I have air fried homemade potato wedges and I grilled a few pieces of chicken. Everything came out really good. I was especially impressed by how well it cooked the meats. The pork just melted in your mouth and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The potato wedges were crispy and cooked perfectly with the recommended time and temp. I have seen a lot of reviews saying it's not a smokeless cooking experience but if you read the instructions it clearly states you should not use cooking oils such as olive oil or vegetable oil for a smokeless cooking experience. I tested it out by coating the pork and the chicken, very lightly (tossing them in a bowl) with olive oil and I had a smokeless cooking experience. So I assume people are just using too much oil if they are getting a lot of smoke. The machine it's self is slightly smaller than my small microwave, so it was a little bigger then I expected. I would say it's easy to use when the instructions are read properly. I've always had trouble cooking meats on the stove top, they never come out perfectly. I would recommend this for air frying and grilling especially if you're someone who is not particularly good at cooking meat. Update: I have been using the machine for a few months now and I had noticed anything, like meat that is very greasy will make the grill smoke heavily. I recommend cleaning the top circular smoke screen after every use for a smokeless experience. It is hard enough to clean after one use but I have noticed that they sell extra smoke screens on here so they can easily be replaced if not cleaned. I have also seen inserts for the bottom pan that I'm seriously considering purchasing because if you don't have a dishwasher cleaning this machine after use is a bit of a chore. I also recommend using the grill brush that was included. Trying to use a regular sponge on the grill makes it nearly impossible to clean properly. The grill brush makes it so much easier.

Awesome ninja. So far I cooked, bacon, hamburgers, thick steaks and salmon fillet. All came out perfect with little effort. Used highest temperature on broil, lowered towards the end to 450. It marks well, sear great and everything was juicy. This unit is very easy to use, very intuitive, easy to control. Clean up? Just rinse or soak the dripped crusted pan and dishwasher does the rest. Wipe the rest as needed but there is no mess. Now, this thing does not smoke but still produces cooking smell so use it under the hood or you house will smell . Can't wait to make my sweet potato fries in it . Honestly. It does replace oven for daily cooking. Money well spent. Great price. Couldn't be happier.

I saw this Ninja XL 6-in-1 on Prime day for a great price so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I've had it for several days and have used it in some capacity every single day now. It's easy to use, preheats fairly quickly, tells me when to "add food", and the settings are easy to use on the front screen. I'm still figuring out how to convert the temp/time on food packages to what the Ninja settings should be, but I've learned that the temp setting should be lower and the time to cook is shorter than package instructions. For example, tube biscuits that per package instructions take 13-17 minutes in a regular preheated oven only took 8 minutes in the Ninja. Cleanup is a breeze and so far, nothing has stuck to the baking pan. The odd thing is that there is NO temp setting between 375 and 390 so that leaves somewhat of a trial & error mission when deciding which temp to set. It's a little bigger than I had thought so I had to rearrange a few things on my counter, but I know I'll use it regularly so it will stay out. I plan on buying some accessories to go with this because I think it's so versatile there's probably not much that wouldn't work in here on either roast, bake, broil or air crisp. I'm only cooking for myself, but the surface area and air fry basket are large enough that it would accommodate a larger family for fries, burgers, chops, etc. I love this and I'm so glad I purchased it. I definitely wouldn't have paid the regular price but if you can find a deal on it, I wouldn't hesitate because I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's a great little grill/fryer/baker.

Love this grill. It comes with a lot of instructions so be prepared to read (I suggest you take the time) but it worked fabulous. I made 4 bone in chicken thighs in about 20 minutes- possibly less. The skin was very crispy but not burnt. I used the Grill function and it cooks quickly I would say use the thermometer it comes with if you are cooking meat on Grill or be prepared to have your food cook in less time than you might think. I will update my review with a video next time I use it. I am thoroughy impressed. Clean up is pretty easy also. It needs space when it operates as it does blow out heat but nothing like an actual grill. Can't wait to use it again!

i had a ninja air fryer before and it was good and effective but i did not like the style of it. i had a george foeman beyond grill (most recently) but........ i do not think they tested the power cord that came with it. when it worked it worked flawlessly, but i dont think the power cord was properly tested and it caused a lot of cutting in and out of power. sooooo i was in the market for buying a new air fryer/griller and the 1st generation of this product was down in price so i thought i would go back to the ninja. i actually choose a used option of this product and it arrived a couple of days before the suggested date (thumbs up). when i opened the box and examined the items/parts, it all looked brand new or was cleaned extremely well. almost all items were present except for the recipe book. other than that everything looks like it was there. i did a test run with frozen totinos pizza and at 350 degrees/air fry/ @ 8 minutes/on the grill plate the pizza was done to perfection. i mainly will use this for grilling steaks so i will report back after that test. i kinda know how long to flip/cook steaks in an air fryer so i do not need a thermometer, but if i use it i will report on it. my last ninja was well made and i hope this one has the same ninja quality/longevity. Edit: after cooking several items this ninja cooks a lot hotter and faster than it appears. Like if instructions on frozen pizza says 12 minutes at 370, the ninja will get it done at 8 minutes at 355 degrees. Not complaining, it's quite powerful. edit: 30 may 2023. finally cooked a ribeye steak and because it runs a lot hotter than advertise i was a bit worried about my steak. i like my steaks medium rare and knowing it does run hotter than suggest i had my settings on grill/hi/pre heated/8 minutes. i flipped as well as it told me to flip at 4 minute mark (which i did) and it looked very nice, but as the time the timer was going down i was a little worried it would cook too fast i stopped it 30 seconds before the full 8 minutes. steak looks amazing with good grill marks and i let it sit for about 10 minutes before cutting into it. after cutting into i think it was more on the medium side. not complaining but i like to factor in when i reheat it in microwave so i prefer it on medium rare because of that. i know the one i own runs hotter than the suggest recommendations, but i do not use the thermometer so if you use the thermometer then it may come out perfect for you. i stay in front of the grill every second when it comes to steaks so i am aware of the seconds when it comes to steaks so i do not use a thermometer. anyway in summary it still turned out to be a fantastic ribeye steak. also i washed the mesh screen before cooking the steak and i did not have any smoke. this was the first time i cleaned the screen after at least 7 uses of frozen pizza and sweet potato. so if you clean it well then i believe the smoke will be very minimal or non at all. very happy with my purchase. reserving the 5 star for longevity.

Literally life changing. No more heating up the place with the oven in the summer, no more waiting forever for something small to be cooked in the oven, no more stove top hamburgers due to not having a grill, and no more guessing with overcooking or undercooking meats. This literally does it all. The hype is real. The air fryer makes chicken nuggets and everything else super crunchy and tastes like it was fried, even my oven never could crisp like this. The grill cooks veggies, meats, fish etc perfectly and the thermometer cooks it to your liking (no more cutting open steaks and chicken to check). Chef-quality results in minutes. This machine is stupid-proof, meaning someone without too much cooking knowledge can turn out a professional meal easily. This is not complicated to learn, not a ton of digital menus to sort through (which was my concern at first). I took it out of the box and after a few minutes breezing through the manual, I knew how to use it. Throw some chicken wings on the grill and bam, crispy healthy wings for dinner that taste like they were fried but in reality, they are healthy and just grilled with a hair of avocado oil. Burgers turn out amazing, steak, chicken, fish, etc. Asparagus, broccolini, etc. You'll also never go back to microwaving chicken nuggets again after tasting them air fried. Also, dehydrated jerky is easy in here once you buy a small dehydrating metal rack (cut meat thin, marinate in your choice, then toss in here for a few hours and you'll have homemade jerky). My big tip is to also buy the Ninja Foodi Smart XL Grill Complete Cookbook by Mellanie De Leon to go with this, it has super delicious, easy to follow recipes, from basic to more flavorful, all within it. The best part is in the back of the book, there's a chart with settings and time to use to learn how to cook different things, which is a necessity when learning how to use this. Buy this cookbook! This applicance has made my life so much easier and was the spark of inspiration I needed when I was getting bored of cooking and running out of ideas to keep meals new and fresh. This is also very easy to use and not complex at all. Buy this with the cookbook and you're set!

I'm not a big fan of gimmicky kitchen appliances and don't fall for the hype of the newest and best gadgets. I try to minimize waste of money and space, not to mention time. I tried a ninja air fryer after being talked into it by a friend and hated it. I mostly eat a lot of meat and generally like moist meat, fat in tact. I never cook fries or frozen foods. I returned that and started thinking about my diet and what is practical. I really liked the versatility of this grill having so many functions. Yes, it does have an air fry function. I grill out a lot and decided this would be less messy, less time consuming and obviously less dependent on weather. I eat a lot of steak, burgers and chicken. This seemed perfect. My daughter does eat frozen foods and bakes so i knew she'd use it also. Plus it's 90 + degrees here right now so being able to keep the oven off is great. I've used this so many times already. Steak, chicken, burgers, muffins, toasted bread. It's amazing. The preset function with the thermometer works very well. You have to trust it as it cuts off a bit early but there is a carry and rest time on the meat. Burgers perfect medium every time.snd super fast without the greasy mess of frying open skillet. And it looked huge on the website but doesn't take up nearly as much space as I thought. Super easy to clean. This is an appliance that will not be thrown in the back of the pantry. Love this grill
