How many skeins in a order?

It is priced by skein (one ball of yarn). Your pattern should tell you about how much you need. I always order one or two more than it says. This is beautiful yarn. 4 is the number meaning medium weight. It is what I consider light weight. Hope this helps.

Amazing yarn. How does it feel?

It's nice and soft! I make hats for customers, and they're very happy with it. It's 20% wool, so it's not ideal for someone with actual allergies, but it's not itchy at all, as some 100% wool yarns can be.

I need white color yarn for baptismal blanket. Is Fisherman white a plain white color? Thank you!

No, it's a lovely warm off-white, like pale ivory or vanilla ice cream. If you like your baby blankets snowy white for the christening, don't use it. I like the off whites for baby things because it's prettier with the pastels you put with it, especially the pinks and yellows. WoolEase has a beautiful soft feel. Lion Brand Pound of Love is even lighter and softer, and the antique white is gorgeous. As I remember, Fisherman color is plain solid color and has no little flecks, but check first.

What size knitting needles do you use for this?

Katie- The suggested size on the ball band is a size U.S. 8 knitting needle. If your following a pattern try using that size needle first to get guage. I made a men's sweater using size U.S. 9 needles and a bunch of children's sweaters using sizes U.S. 4 through 7 knitting needles. I hope this helps
