Yes, it is 3 years. My drops arrived in February 2018 and the EXP date is February 2021.

Could this be used to rinse contacts while traveling?

Yes You can use this to rinse contact lenses, I do. I also use it to store my lenses and when my eyes feel dry. It does not clean or disinfect the lenses. I use Clear Care solution for that.
