10 Live Painted Lady Caterpillars to Butterflies, Butterfly Activity Kit

My daughter (7) is super into critters and bugs. She had waited for these little guys with such anticipation and was so excited when they arrived! We were lucky and got a couple extra caterpillars, which all morphed into beautiful butterflies. One was unfortunately deformed, but that's because the chrysalis never attached to the top of the container's paper cover. But we are able to feed it and will keep it throughout it's little butterfly life! All of my kids found this super educational and cool! I will say that my daughter wanted to hold and handle her caterpillars but the instructions say to keep them inside the container until they form their chrysalis'. So that was a little bummer for her. However, overall a great learning experience and we'd likely do it again!

Caterpillars arrived timely and safely. Solid clear instructions. I did have a question about how cool we keep our house here in the south (65-67deg) so I called the number that came with them and they were so kind and answered all my questions. It was so fun to watch the process and growth! All caterpillars grew well, made chrysalis and emerged into beautiful fully developed butterflies! 11 in total! We will be getting more next year for sure!! 🦋 ♥️

The caterpillars came with food and instructions. Began moving immediately. I bought 10 and received 12. They are amazing little creatures. We released 10 this week. Sadly 2 have deformed wings and cannot be released. I am keeping them fed in an enclosure to live out their 2-4 week life span. Yesterday one of the butterflies came back for a visit!

I was worried about them arriving alive, as they're shipped usps and take several days. They all came absolutely fine and alive! Mine were all moving and ready to go. I ordered 10 and got 3 extra! Which was a nice surprise. Looking forward to watching the process with my kids! *First 2 pics are day 1 of receiving them. Second 2 pictures are them today, 6 days later! Will keep updating their journey! Out of 13 caterpillars, I got 12 healthy butterflies! They were so pretty and so cool to watch the process. The 13th caterpillar was the runt. It's chrysalis was so tiny and I knew it wouldn't be okay. It did come out, but horribly deformed. I hand fed it, brought it outside for some fresh air and sun and humanely euthanized it. I felt bad, but I was not about to let it suffer. It was all a really amazing experience for myself and my children! Would definitely order again and suggest you do too!

I bought two sets tiny caterpillars in Mid-May. When we got them, they were so tiny and so much fun to watch grow over the next two weeks. Today is June 5 and I’m happy to report, 14 out of 14 butterflies were released into the world! It was amazing to see them grow and so easy because of the cup of food that comes with it. After they formed the chrysalis, we took the top off and attached it to the side of the habitat. Once they arrived, we added a couple cotton balls with Gatorade/sugar water and fruit at the bottom for them to enjoy. This was an awesome experience and we will be back next year to get another batch! Highly recommend!

Ours came with 6. They were quick to grow and did well up until it was time to release them, one of them died. They were really aggressive towards one another. We have done this 3 times with a different brand with no issues. This was the first time trying this one

Absolutely wonderful. Caterpillars were healthy and turned into beautiful butterflies which I release each year on my late son’s birthday.

This was a great classroom activity. We were given a butterfly enclosure and wanted to give the kids the experience but the full ready made kits are so expensive. This has easy to folly instructions as well as videos to watch if you needed them. The caterpillars do all the work. We had five beautiful butterflies to release. They hatched at different times and even though two fell off and we just hung them back on they were all beautiful and flew. We can’t wait to get more next year!!!
