Chalk Pencils, 12Pcs White Water Soluble Pencil Sewing Fabric Pencil Dressmaker Practical Tool for Sewing Marking and Tracing

Dot painting is a new hobby for me and I bought a kit with all the tools in and it also came with a chalk pencil. You need to paint your surface and then stencil on guide lines ready for dotting. These guide lines need to to rubbed off after you have finished your piece. The pencil that came with the brilliant tool set that I bought was so hard to remove afterwards I needed an alternative. I researched a lot and came across this set that said the chalk was removable with water. I decided to give them a try. You get 12 pencils in the box and they are full sized ( my previous one was diddy). They sharpen really easily, you just need a half decent sharpener. I have a metal pencil sharpener and that worked brilliantly. So I set about stencilling in my lines and creating my piece. Once it had dried I got my ordinary rubber and the guide lines just disappeared. Absolutely brilliant. I didn’t need to wet it and it left no residue. I’m so chuffed. I then thought I’d test it on a chalk board and it was great on that too. I did use some damp kitchen towel to wipe it off and it just disappeared. As the pencils are fine it means you can fit more writing on your chalk board. Would be great on those wipe off labels you get on storage canisters too. My husband has already ‘borrowed’ a couple for his workshop and I’ve popped a couple in my sewing box. They do work on felt but the line is fairly faint. I was afraid to press on too hard as it can fluff up your felt. On dark material they work really well. I tested it on a couple of scrap pieces I have. I’m so pleased I found these as they do such a great job for dot painting. Highly recommended if you are trying this craft but they have other uses too so it’s a win win.

These were supposed to assist me in shortening a new pair of trousers and marked the garment as expected. However, I proved to be of limited skills in tailoring, so a local tailor will take over now!
