Nice wood block! Good wood, good finishing, great sound projection
Good wood and well finished, clear sound. Bigger than I expected but thatโs good for projection. I need to find a way to store the mallet so that it doesnโt get separated from the block but the wood block worked perfectly for performance and I anticipate being able to use it for years to come.

Great build and sound
This woodblock's build quality is excellent, with a beautiful finish. It has a nice, solid heft, weighing 12.4 oz (351 g). A mallet is provided, with a stick length of 7-1/2" and 1" diameter ball head, and according to an answered question, the head is made of hard rubber. Both block and mallet were packed snugly with paper inside a reusable, cylindrical, cardboard storage tube, packed inside an Amazon cardboard shipping box. With the provided mallet, I get a loud, clear and resonant sound. On this block, the sweet spot near the center edge resonates around E6 (2nd E above middle C), and I can get a higher pitch, around G#6, by striking near the left or right edge of the resonating channel. I'm quite happy with this instrument and am looking forward to incorporating it into upcoming performances.

Great!
I don't know much about wood blocks. I wanted the sound in my recordings. I will say I was surprised to how loud this one is and it really adds to me music.

Get a 2 x 4
This is a beautiful piece of wood but it is exactly that, a piece of wood. There is no special note or tone, in fact you could go in your garage or in your kitchen for that matter and beat on wood and that's what you get. I'm giving 4 stars one because it is nice looking and 2 because I laugh at myself and what on God's green earth possessed me to by a chunk of wood for that price.

Excellent wood block
This is an excellent wood block. The sound is exactly what our group needed. The packaging was carefully thought out and looked beautiful. The craftsmanship of this block is why we always go with small businesses who take care in design and craftsmanship. I highly recommend this company.

A fantastic instrument at a great price
Love the sound of this wood block. It sounds just like any you'd hear in a professional symphony recording where the instrument is featured (Prokofiev's Symphony #5 comes to mind).

Sotto alle aspettattive
Il suono non e' brutto, ma non risuona come altri analoghi che avevo sentito in giro. E' un po' secco e massiccio.

No tone variation
Looks nice, however there was little variation of tone. Not worth the price
