The Best Of Jane Austen Knits: 27 Regency-Inspired Designs Paperback – Bargain Price, January 28, 2015

I would have given this book 5 stars, however Interweave has decided to make this a “print on demand” paperback. The pages and colors are substandard and I see nowhere in their description where it states that this will be the case if you purchase this version. The book was designed to be printed on a higher quality, glossy paper. I would have been much happier with the original printing of this book. Buyer beware!

A treasury of historical information, as well as a valuable compendium of timeless patterns for all. Highly recommended for all skill levels.

As a big fan of Jane Austen's work, A historian of the period I have enjoyed the "spin" on some of the modernization of the era. I respect the designers and the designs. It's not easy to capture the feeling and still make it practical for today's taste. Well done! LOL!

Patterns from easy to expert. All lovely. The Sensible Shawl (a Scandinavian type sontag) is one of the best of its kind I've found. The spencers and shawls are beautiful, but time consuming. Several small projects, such as wristers, handbag, charming pin ball, and an heirloom quality baby bonnet indulge the desire for more instant (comparatively) gratification.

Love Jane Austen, love the patterns in this book, and l love the history written about in this book.

Good range of knitting patterns. My wife and 11 year old daughter are both knitting patterns from this book at the same time. So good for beginner knitters and more advanced.

My daughter is a beginning knitter, but she loved this pattern book.

This is a lovely compilation from the Interweave magazine Jane Austen Knits. I have all the magazines and decided to round out my collect even with copies of the original magazines.

There are some lovely shapes and designs in here, quite a variety and Mostly original. Again quite a few shawls but they made up for it with other ideas on styles. Helpful glossary of abbreviations at the back along with illustrated instructions on the stitches which I’m sure will be helpful when I’m ready to take this on.

Lovely ideas which I will try to have a go at. Not for a beginner more for intermediate or advanced knitter. It gives the American yarn version so if you were to buy yarns in the UK you will need to find the equivalent.

Gorgeous patterns which are not too hard for most levels. I don't usually knit more than about two or three patterns from most books, but this book is the exception as I will be having a go at a fair few of these. I also didn't think that I would ever knit a shawl but couldn't resist one in here and I am finding that I enjoy knitting it immensely.
