I picked up this mallet as an alternative to a claw hammer, and so far I’m satisfied. It hits harder than a claw hammer of similar weight. The main reason I bought it however were three-fold: 1. A bigger, flatter head to avoid hitting my hands occasionally while chiseling - especially during demo. 2. A more functional secondary head instead of a claw, which I never use on a typical hammer and instead use more purpose-built pry bars and 3. Wanted a PB Swiss tool. I had seen videos on their legendary build quality and wanted to own one. One issue I’ve run into so far that’s different from other hammers than others may want to be aware of is the sharper corners on the striking surface. I developed a habit over time of setting nails most of the way first with your standard finishing hammer head which has a curved face. The PB Swiss hammer is much more square and it’s easier to ding your finished surface by accident if your strike is slightly out of plum. Not a problem with the hammer, just a change of style.

I just love the way it feel. One of my favorite hammers for sure. High quality Swiss made but the wood handle is sourced from USA sustainable forest. The dead-blow head is just perfect. I love this #3 size with the metal and plastic dual head, perfect for my bike wrenching. It stays in my mobile bike tool kit.

It seems to be sitting in Amazon's warehouse for very long, and the steel part is rusted. After sanding and polishing it myself it is now good as new. The hammer itself is good quality otherwise.

The product is awesome but the delivery service ducks. 2x on the promised date it was out for delivery and returned to the sorting facility. Ended up showing up the next day instead....this is the 4th time this same scenario has happened to me in the last 9m

ショックドライバー用に買いました。他にもエンジンヘッドはがしやベアリング挿入に使う予定です。 自動車整備であれば、3番の購入で大抵は問題ないと思います。 4番も所持していますが、3番以上に関しては他社製の無骨なハンマーのが向いていると感じます。 ニスの仕上げ、ハンマートーンの塗装ともに丁寧な作りで、修理部品の入手も容易です。 ほぼ半永久的な耐久性の道具だと思います。 絶妙な太さのグリップは力加減の調整に最適です。 反動軽減もしっかりと役割を果たしていて、正確に衝撃を加える事が可能です。 一つ難点があるとすれば、スチール部の削り出しが甘く、シミや切削痕が残っています。 直ぐに馴染んで気にならないレベルではありますが、気にする方は店頭で現物を見て購入することをお勧めします。 ハンマー＝野蛮な道具、という印象を覆す美しい道具だと思います。

The internal dead blow mechanism really concentrates the force directly to the work piece, makes a big difference and I’m using less force for the same result.. Certainly an improvement over my original lead shot and sand filled hammers, it feels better balanced. Breaking free rusted suspension joints, tie rods ends or doing delicate assembly work this one hammer has both hard and soft force applications covered. Both ends are high quality material and to date zero noticeable damage. The wooden hickory handle a welcome nostalgic return and the right length to weight ratio, definitely my new go to hammer, more comfortable and more affective than my original dead blow plastic handle hammers.

最初に届いた時には、柄の部分が傷だらけの商品が送られてきましたので、返品交換しました。 この商品は ヘッドの中に５円玉のようなプレートが沢山入っていて、ハンマーを振る度にそれらが移動し、衝撃を和らげるというハイテク(?)なハンマーです。 その割に外観は普通で、柄の部分も最近流行りのファイバー樹脂などではなくUSAのヒッコリー材です。 この外観の普通さが良いですね。トラディショナルな感じで・・。 PBも、他にいろいろなハンマーを出しているでしょうが、私はこういう木の柄のタイプが好きです。 昔ながらの外観で、実はギミックがある。そういうところに愛着を持って使えそうです。

レザークラフトの目打ちや穴抜きで木槌やナイロンハンマーを使っていましたが、結構な力を入れて抜く必要があったため、本ハンマーを試してみました。 結果としては、ほぼ１発で抜くことができるようになりました。 打ち音も低い音で、何度も叩く必要もないため、騒音の問題も改善できました。
