Kenmore Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum Lift-Up Carpet Cleaner

I just got this vacuum today and I am impressed. This vacuum checks so many boxes for me. 1 - It's lightweight and has a bag! I hate, HATE, hate bag-less vacuums, and this is one of only a few lightweights that has a disposable dirt bag. 2 - Really good strong suction. 3 - Able to turn off the rotating floor brush independently of the rest of the machine. This means that the roller does not need to spin while using attachments. 4 - Nice long cord. I can plug it in once and reach every corner if I plug into a centrally located receptacle. 5 - The floor head had no problems picking up small stuff. The rotating brushes did the job. 6 - No problems with round stuff. The head rolled right over an old ibuprofen tablet and picked it up on the first pass. 7 - It picked up a penny and sucked it into the bag. It did not jam in the brush, and did not make any clanking sounds. It got sucked up easilly with no possibility of machine damage. 8 - It grabbed a slipper, unintentionally this time. It jammed the brush, and the brush motor stopped instantly because of it, and would not start up again until the obstruction was cleared and powered off. Nice! 9 - Light enough that I can use the upright machine on my stairs. 10 - Easy to roll around and swivel on both hardwood floors and carpets. 11 - I like the "no-lift-away" Who needs that? On this one, just turn off the floor brush and lock it in the upright position. You can carry it around like a lift away, and the floor head doubles as a sturdy base. Nice! 12 - Easy to switch from floor mode to hose/attachment mode. 13 - Positively No dust. Everything that gets sucked in stays in the bag. I see no flying dust particles in the sunlight. 14 - Good suction when using the wand and tools. It got everything near my baseboards. 15 - The floor head does NOT have a height adjustment. I consider this to be a good thing. I have found that most vacuums that have a height adjustment just don't last. The adjustment always seem to be prone to breaking. So, it is near perfect and has some minor flaws that I think I can live with. Here they are. 1 - The spinning handheld brush head did not work well for me. Tried to use it to vacuum carpeted stairs, but the brush stops moving when it comes in contact with the carpet, and the suction is not a strong. Maybe it takes a more delicate touch, but I'd rather just pick up and use the floor head on the stairs 2 - I was hoping that it would be flat enough to get under the beds, but the clearance is not there. The tank is very bulbous and requires at least 10 inches off the floor when lying flat. I have only one bed that it can go under. This really is my only big complaint and the one thing that I wish it did better. Why did they make this so narrow side to side, and so wide front to back? If they only designed the tank to be wide side to side, it would fit under so many more places. 4 - The wand is short and did not come with an extension. Don't plan to stand up straight to use it. It can be a bit hard on the back - I had to bend over to use the crevice tool to get where the carpet meets the baseboards, and I'm already less than an average height. I think you need to be super short (like under 5ft) to use it without bending over. And if your ceilings are more than 8ft, the wand will not be long enough to reach those either. 5 - The attachments fall off while the vacuum is in use. Ho-hum. Not any different than any other vacuum. Seems these are good only for keeping the tools with the vacuum while it is in the closet. If I need to, it is better to put the crevice tool in my back pocket.

Holy moly this vacuum sucks!!! I love it! My husband is on oxygen so I need the dust to be gone, not poofing up in the air every time I dump a canister, so the bag was an absolute must. My old canister vac wasn't doing its job and having to stop 5 times in one room to empty it was not OK with me. And it smelled. I've had it for about 12 years I think. Anyway, this vac sucked up everything the old one left behind! We have 6 dogs, 4 cats, 3 young ladies and me all shedding all the time so being able to vacuum is very important. The cord is nice and long, I was able to do the living room, dining room, and halfway into the classroom and kitchen without unplugging, so if I use an extension cord I shouldn't need to unplug to do the main parts of the house all in one fast go. Love the rocker switch to change between hard floors and carpet. The front and side suction are much better than I expected. Haven't used the attachments yet but they seem well made. Already filled the first bag with everything the old vac left behind, and man it was heavy! It made a thud sound when it hit the trash. Should have bought this year's ago! Yes the attachments are in a bad spot, but I just put them on a shelf anyway (6 dogs and 2 are still puppies lol). I have weak wrists, and this was pretty easy to handle. Absolutely love the light! And it's nowhere near as loud as I thought it would be meaning I can absolutely vacuum after everyone goes to bed while the dogs are out for the last time. The price is definitely worth it as long as it lasts a few years so we'll see there.

I would give this a 5 star, BUT like other reviews, the hose split on mine only 7 months after buying. The stair tool is also garbage. It does not have power to it so once it hits the carpet it can't spin anymore. This vacuum has tons of suction, and leaves floors very clean... This is coming from someone with 3 dogs and 3 children under the age of 10. The bag also lasts quite a while in a home with a lot of hair to pick up. I would recommend buying one, just be prepared to have spare hoses on hand to replace.

I bought the vacuum for my 75-year-old mother. Her other vacuums are heavy and not easy to lug around. She didn't like the dust plume from emptying dust cups, plus one of them died after only two years of use. I asked her how she liked the Kenmore so far, so this review is based off of what she told me and my observations of watching her use it. Kenmore Intuition Upright Bagged Vacuum Cleaner with HEPA Filtering Pros: Very good suction, comparable to my mom's Meile, which had a price tag of $600. It pulls the tuft of the carpet up nicely, and you can hear dirt and other objects being sucked up, even more so than the other vacs my mom has, including her Meile. You can turn the brush roller off for hard floors. The swiveling head is a very handy feature, so you can get hard-to-reach areas just fine. The wheels and power head did not appear to scratch wood floors or leave scuff marks, which was a good thing. The very lightweight and the detachable canister is easy to carry around, while using the various cleaning attachments and when it is attached to the power head, the unit is easy to push and pull. The pet/upholstery tool works well on carpets and upholstery. It has an actual brush roller and not a single molded piece of plastic. You don't need to press down hard on the tool while cleaning. Pressing down on any attachment like that will prevent it from performing as intended. It will even clean heavy coats with fur or hair on them - my mom adjusted the suction slider on the handle to a level that would prevent damaging the fabric. The hose and wand are long enough to get to many hard-to-reach areas overhead and under tables, couches, chairs, and so forth. The power cord is long enough you don't have to relocate it to a closer outlet as often, particularly when you have to go up and down a bunch of stairs and don't want to go down to find a closer outlet and then go back up to the vacuum. The bags are durable and easy to eject into the garbage with very little dust blowback. My mom likes to fill bags to the point of bursting, but I did not notice any seams coming loose on the bag she had. I also noticed there was very little dust inside the bag containment area. There is no need to touch a bag during ejection but hold on to the bottom of the shroud while it releases. Releasing a full bag is not completely dust-free, but it is nothing compared to dust cups, which can spew up a large cloud of dust. With the Kenmore, my mom does not have to go outside to empty a dust cup, so that is a convenience in my view. The bags are also easy to replace - a new bag just slips into grooves in the plastic holder, and you snap the shroud back on the canister. The HEPA filter is easily accessible and replaceable. I am unsure whether it is a true HEPA filter or not. It removed a lot of dust particles, as observed from how dirty a used one appeared, so the vacuum does not recirculate a bunch of particulates back into the air. At least I didn't notice a dust smell or sneeze while the vacuum was in use. The user manual that comes with the vacuum is easy to follow and not convoluted in any way. Cons: I wouldn't call them "cons" as much as slight inconveniences. When you pull the vacuum back, sometimes the power head will lift off of the floor. I believe that is attributable to how quickly one pulls it back. If you pull it back more slowly, there is no lift off issue. The wand/canister release and seating procedure can be cumbersome, but there is a little foot symbol on the power head, which I concluded to be where you place your foot to hold the power head down while releasing the wand and/or canister. Seating the canister takes some training, as the wand needs to be attached to the canister to place back on the power head and guiding it back on is kind of tricky. The vacuum is loud, but it's not the loudest I have heard. My mom's Meile does have a noise adjustment feature, so that is one advantage it has over the Kenmore. There is no height adjustment on the power head, but Cheerios, Fruit Loops, and most dog food are picked up just fine. If you need to vacuum up bigger pieces, just lift the power head up and place back down on the debris. You cannot push the unit under some things, due to the size of the canister; however, that is what the attachments are for. No big deal, in my view. My mom just used the pet/upholstery cleaner to get under couches, chairs, coffee tables, etc. on carpeted surfaces. The other attachments she used on hard floors. The power cord is not retractable. Her Meile and her other operational vacuum do have a retractable power cord. She did not see that as a huge issue, she just made a loop and hung it on the upper cord hook. When one does wrap the cord up on the hooks, don't do it so tightly that the hooks are difficult to twist down or up. The hose will need to be stretched out a few times before it finally reaches desired elasticity. I attribute that to the vacuum being new and part of the breaking-in process. Overall, the Kenmore Intuition is a very good vacuum and a good value for the features it has. I compared it to a $600 Meile canister vac, and it stood up to the Meile very well. I think it had more features than the Meile, to be honest. EDIT: The foot symbol on the powerhead is also the place to hold it down while pulling the handle and canister back before cleaning.

I originally purchased a Miele C1 Turbo Team, which was great, but I primarily have a rug and hard floor. The suction was so strong it was too difficult to maneuver to the turbo brush across the rug. So I returned it. I was looking for another good bagged vacuum, the problem was most companies these days only produce bagless variants. Enter Kenmore. They had both Canister Models and Uprights available for much lower cost than the Miele. Once I discovered this Vacuum and did some research on it, I realized it was not only one of the most versatile AND powerful vacuums out there, it has HEPA filtration and BAGS. No dealing with dust bins or filters. I appreciate that the unit pulls apart into a canister like mode for easy transport. The best part is it's roughly half the price of Kenmore Canisters and features larger bags. Cleaning Performance: This thing ROCKS. It isn't necessarily the quietest vacuum out there, but I will trade that for the suction this thing brings to the table. I can tell the suction is strong enough to lift my rug, but due to the weight of the vacuum itself and the large wheels, this thing rolls anywhere I need it to. When attaching attachments it works great for vacuuming the various hard to reach places in my apartment. I have cats and one of the biggest reasons I was looking for a new vacuum was being able to quickly and efficiently vacuum stray cat litter. This thing has 0 issues doing it, and because it's a HEPA bag, I don't have to deal with any dust or smell from it. Hardfloors: I am including this separately as we know the suction power is plenty capable, but I want to highlight that the machine does just fine on hardwood floors, thanks to the shape of the cleaning head and the ability to turn off the Brush Roller. If you leave it on you WILL spit debris behind the machine, but when off that glorious suction power sucks everything right up. The brush head is large enough that it may not fit under all cabinets or furniture, but thankfully that's where the wand mode comes in and is very easy to detach and reattach. The wheels are smooth and make almost no sound on smooth floors, though if you have tile or old hardwood you might notice some noise but it isn't bad. I haven't seen any marks or damage from the vacuum on my floors. Features: I really appreciate the LEDs on the unit. While the floor head is technically smaller than other units, what you get in exchange is much higher suction so I'll take the trade off. The construction while almost entirely plastic, seems sturdy and looks good. Buttons are firm yet easy to click, and the various locking mechanisms are strong. I do wish however the attachments had the ability to lock at the end of the hose in wand mode, but this is a very minor issue and doesn't impact the ability to clean. The cable is plenty long and longer than average at 30 feet. Portability: The vacuum is all things considered quite light. It's easy to push and maneuver. It gets even light when you lift it off the base, and because the bottom of the bag compartment is flat, you can set it down on stairs or a counter if your are cleaning hard to reach places. If you find that the vacuum is struggling to move on your carpets or rug, you can open the suction valve easily on the handle to reduce the amount of suction to make moving it easier. Even with he valve open the suction is plenty strong to clean. Health/Air Quality: It's wild, I can smell (or not smell?) a very big difference just a day after using this vacuum. Because all the dust and dirt is captured in the HEPA bag, the air coming out of the machine is cleaner than going in. And because I know it's much better than my Shark Stick vacuum at picking up debris and dust, there's less particles to leave a smell in my home. If you have allergies or pets and want to ensure your place is as clean as it can be, without spending twice as much money on a bigger vacuum, buy this one. The competition: I obviously purchase a Miele C1 Turbo Team. While much more expensive, it does have durability and RAW power going for it. For me however due to the form factor, that suction was too strong for my rugs and I decided it wasn't worth the cost. Still a top recommended vacuum if it works for you and RAW POWER is your main concern along with longevity. Less features for more than double the price. Kenmore Elite Upright: If I had a bigger home with a lot more carpeting I might have upgraded to this for even more suction (second only to a Kirby) and much more features such as the dirt sensor. Still cheaper than a Miele though. Shark and Dyson: These were non-options for me as they don't offer bagged units. Kenmore Canister: Due to my previous experience with a canister vacuum I was hesitant to go with these. Though they may be beneficial for some. Primarily I was interested in the Kenmore Elite Canister for the Cross Over dual head feature and dirt sensing. Definitely more expensive but it was the only model I would have considered. I hope my review helps you understand why this thing is genuinely in my opinion the best option for MOST people. Unless you have some niche needs or really desire that extra oomph, you can't beat this machine in day to day life.

I have put off writing this review for so long, not wanting to be reminded of this appliance when I am not forced to use it. But I feel a responsibility to share the grief. First, the good things. The green metallic color is nice and shiny. The bags are capacious. And, . . . uh. . . I’m done with good things. General evaluation? We bought it based on a video review that measured ability to pick up sand in carpet. You, know, suction. (We did not think to remember that, uh, we have hardwood floors. And seldom track sand into the house. But the green metallic color. . .!) And, as Wayne (of “Wayne’s World” fame) says regarding another electrical appliance, “It certainly does suck!” Yes, this vacuum has suction. AND, it certainly does suck. How? Let me count the ways! The brush attachments will not stay attached to the back of the base. Why? Because to release the base into a usable position, you have to use your foot to hold down the front of the vacuum while you are (presumably) standing or walking BEHIND IT. So, you reach around from BEHIND IT with your foot which has a leg attached, and voila, you brush against one of the brush attachments and it becomes. . . guess, go ahead . . . UNATTACHED! Which means you have to bend over and try to reattach it to the back of the base of the unit. What else? The suction tube is long enough to do some chores if you detach the top of the wand from the unit. Like, vacuum your face. Always a good thing to do, right? Why do you ask? Because the expandable hose is so very stiff that if you reach up with the wand to do something the hose is so inflexible that it topples the unit. Likely onto your foot. Oh, and for those little jobs that detaching the wand head would be ever so perfect, guess what? You have to release the entire electrical cord from the wand. Which means after you knock out the little job, you have to rewind the cord, all of it, back onto the unit so it can go back into storage. What else? If you try and roll over a threshold (yes, some older houses have thresholds in the doorways inside the house), the unit will release and the front will think you used your foot to release it and release itself with a lovely loud noise. The unit going over a threshold thinks the threshold is somehow related to you reaching around from behind with your foot attached to your leg thereby dislodging one or both brush attachments. . . And the front of the unit slams down onto the threshold and you still can’t get over the threshold without putting the front of the unit back into the semi locked position that allows you to move between rooms when you are not actually vacuuming. Oh, yeah, the ever so easily detached accessory brushes also fall off of the wand. Very easily. They will not stay installed. On the wand. Which is where you use them. They just won’t stay attached. Suffice to say, don’t buy this vacuum. Pass on it. Get a Miele or some other well rated brand. Spend some more money, and always remember: A cheap appliance is just that. A cheap appliance. Pass on the Hoover. Because “It certainly does suck!” Nice color, though. . .

Quick Update 6/10/2026: Coming up to 3 years, the Kenmore Intuition is still doing and excellent job and going strong. The only issue has been the passive pet hair cleaner no longer works (those things never last). Nothing on the vac feels weathered, all the buttons and body of the vac are sturdy, the extension tube is in perf condition and it cleans like a pro. 5 stars. Original review: I'll be comparing my Kenmore Intuition to my previous Oreck Magnesium and Oreck XL. Essentially, the Intuition leaves my 'Orecks' in the dust. The machine is much more functional, better engineered, quieter (despite no vac ever being truly quiet), reliable, higher quality plastics, stronger suction, cleans significantly better, can take knocks, easy bag change, easy to keep the roller clear (I have dogs) and much more. Kenmore have hit it out of the park with this vacuum and I can see why it's always in the top 10 of any vacuum review. Cleaning - Super strong suction, it gets everything; dirt, Great Pyrenees dog hairs, crumbs, sand etc.. It fluffs the carpets, none of my Orecks ever came close to this level of performance. Tile/Hardwood floor cleaning - It's excellent. The Intuition rolls and pivots smoothly. Hard surfaces are cleaned and the roller doesn't spray things all over the place. I can vacuum broken glass, dried dirt, crumbs etc. with confidence. Unlike my Orecks that sprayed a good chunk of what I tried to pick-up. Carpet cleaning - Regular carpet cleaning is a dream. The Intuition rolls and pivots smoothly, it grabs just about everything in one pass, and fluffs the carpet. This is in contrast to my Orecks where they require multiple passes and still don't match the Kenmore's performance. Deep pile carpet cleaning - Universally, vacuums don't like deep pile. The Intuition can clean deep pile but it feels like it's working harder. It still does the best job of any vacuum I've used to date. Pet hair attachment - To my complete surprise it actually works really well. My 122lb fur-ball has a large navy blue dog bed, that's used by both him and my 34lb Spitz mix. and the attachment gets all the fur without any fuss. It takes about 2 mins to clean the bed. The attachment brush is a passive system that's powered by the draw of air, and it's the only one of its kind that I've come across that not only works but does an excellent job. Fur inevitably accumulated and to clean it for the first time a few months ago. This was easy. The attachment came apart with ease, cleaning from start (figuring out how it comes apart) to finish (this includes figuring out how to put it back together) took about 10mins. What struck me was the quality of the components and how well everything went back together. Weight - It's 14lbs (with everything). That's 5lbs heavier than either of my Orecks but still light enough to be easily carried up and down stairs. Led Lights - They're bright and actually work to illuminate your path (unlike any of my Orecks). This is especially useful when clean in dark areas like underneath the bed where you will see that shoe lace before it jams your the vac. Additionally, the lights make it easier to see items that would normally be missed like see pet hair clumps or dust bunnies in nooks. Another feature I like about the Led lights is the cast light over the transparent panel above the roller, so you can see how stringy or hairy the roller is getting. Jams - Roller jams are inevitable and this has been the easiest vacuum to unjam. The Intuition detects them within 1 sec and powers down the roller (the roller is powered by its own dedicated motor). The latter ensures jams don't become nightmares, prevents damage to cables/stringy things and there's no burning rubber smell as the vacuum detects the latter before any of that can take place. This is in contrast to my Orecks, they would stink up the room with burnt rubber before detecting a jam (that's if they detected it) and would inevitably stretch and shorten the life of the rubber belt. Bag - The bag is a medium sized bag, some people call it 'small' so let's say it's at the smaller end of medium. Additionally, you can get Hepa bags as well as one’s without any filtration to suit your budget. I opt for the Hepa bags as they keep smells/dust in check. The Intuition has 5 (4 green and 1 red)bag capacity lights that start to illuminate when the bag is about 85% full. When the red light is illuminated, the bag is genuinely full, you're not going to get much more in there....I like this feature because it's accurate. What's interesting is my Orecks had almost double the capacity of the Intuition, so you would expect Oreck bags to last almost twice as long....nope. My intuition bags need to be replaced every 4-5 months. In contrast my Oreck bags would last for 1.5yrs-2yrs. That gives you an idea of how much more the Intuition picks-up, in my case it's proven to be over twice as much. Wand - The Intuition's wand is topnotch. It's a sturdy device with a user friendly handle that detaches with ease and goes back securely, no whistling/wheezing/air leaks. The suction is strong and can be adjusted by a vent open/close on the side of the handle. The hose doesn't flop, twist or get caught around itself and seems to be the ideal length for high ceilings or low areas (like behind/beneath the sofa or hard to reach areas). I've seen some people say their hoses have cracked and replacements aren't available (not good) so they've resorted to duct tape etc. (but they still love their vacs, lol). I've had my Intuition for over two years and the hose is in perf condition. Roller - The roller performance is excellent, it beat both my Orecks by a long shot. Cleaning the roller is also so much easier than any of my Orecks. Pet hair - If you have a fluffy dog (I have two), pet Pet hair build up is inevitable. I'm not sure how Kenmore engineered/pulled-off the following but, despite picking up significantly more hair than my Orecks, pet hair doesn't accumulate as quickly on the Kenmore roller as it did on my Orecks. On the Orecks I would have to clean the roller around every 6-7 months and it was such a fiddly and messy chore. In the 2+ years I've had the Intuition, I've only had to clean the roller twice. Additionally, on the Intuition, it's not the nightmare job, as it was on the Orecks (frankly, it's still something I'd sooner avoid). The Institution leaves a small gap between the wrapped pet hair/stringy things and the roller, the gap is small enough to finagle scissors and cut through the mess. Usually, hair and stringy items are wrapped super tight around the roller, not the case with the Intuition. I have a Great Pyrenee and any Pyr parent will attest to how they destroy vac's, I don't expect this to be the case with Intuition. Detachable body - The body and wand can be detached from the base as a single unit. It comes off with ease and reattaches without squeaks or wiggles so the vacuum always feels like a solid and single unit. I've found this feature to be super convenient and for cleaning stairs, hard to reach places, ceiling corners etc.. Cable - This is a universal Achilles heel of every vacuum cleaner out there, because you can't help but run it over. To start the Intuition has a 30ft cable. perf. Additionally, I've run over the cable on tiled and carpeted floors, and it's never been a problem, the vacuum doesn't pick it up. The only time it's been a problem is when I've run over the cable on a deep pile rug. It grabbed everything, but luckily it wasn't an issue as the vac was quick enough to stop the roller, and I was on my way in the less than a 1 min. Build quality - Excellent. This is a well thought-out and designed machine. By comparison I was surprised at the cheapness of my Orecks components (I had to take them apart multiple times, because I wasn't about to leave my vacuum at an Oreck center for about 2 weeks). Value for money - You can't beat it. I’ve had 3 Orecks whick totaled around $1.5k and all of them have been outperformed by a $169 Kenmore Intuition. The intuition looks great, it's reliable, well built, functional and performs way better than its price point.

12/23/2021 Update: The hose in the base split only weeks after my original 5 star review. I notice a few others have also experienced the same issue. It appears this part is under-designed for the normal stresses encountered during vacuuming. Below is my original review. Traditionally, there are notable differences between bulky bagged uprights, and messy bagless uprights. This Kenmore vac incorporates desirable features found in both, while eliminating some of their key deficiencies. It seems designed by people who actually vacuum--and read reviews. If the rating system allowed, we would rate this 4.5 out of 5. The vac has a base (floor nozzle, brushroller, and lights) that easily detaches to function as a powerful, relatively lightweight portable vac. It also has practical features other uprights at this price point (and higher) do not, and best meets our criteria for design, build quality, versatility, cleaning, and price—although it’s not for everyone (read on). Consumer Reports lists this vac as a “Best Buy.” We have used 2 of these vacs (two properties) over the past couple years w/o issue. CONS: 1) If you have high-pile carpet, you may want a vac with manual pile adjustment. This vac works best on low and medium pile, and hard floors. 2) If you have large areas to vac and time is more important—you may want a more traditional bagged vac with a wider floor nozzle. 3) Like most vacs at this price point it’s not self-propelled, no cord auto rewind, and doesn’t fold up (but does have design elements that help negate their absence). 4) The Attachments could be secured better as they tend to fall off when bumped. 5) The Handle could be smaller and more ergonomic. Works well for floor vacuuming, but with attachments can be a bit unwieldly and uncomfortable for smaller hands/wrists or for lengthy use. 6) The Hose is not long and with a smaller/lighter base, the vac is susceptible to tip-over when stretched beyond about 28 inches. To use attachments, you can either use your other hand on the vac, or detach the base and carry the canister to get areas best suited for attachments. Doing this after floor vacuuming (or before) is most efficient and reduces bending, vs. stop-n-go use of attachments. PROS: Vs. Bagless: No ugly muck container to look at, no muck clouds to breath or smell, and no contact from opening, emptying, and cleaning the muck container. Has 3-stage filtration: Cloth HEPA Bag, HEPA Filter, and Foam Filter (not for wet cleaning). Vs. Bagged Uprights: The many features and improvements over traditional bagged uprights, and competitive pricing, are attributed to adopting features that made Bagless vacs popular, w/added efficiencies using less electricity (10 amp vs. traditional 12 amp) without a drop off in air flow and cleaning ability. The primary trade-off is a floor nozzle/brushroll a couple inches narrower (10-inch vs 12-inch) and no manual pile adjustment. The question is whether you value these features more, or the following features not typically found on bagged uprights: 1) Lighter to push, pull, and carry; 2) Less Boxy for easier maneuvering, storage; 3) Swiveling, narrower Base easily changes direction and maneuvers around furniture and into difficult spaces; 4) Low-height Base fits completely under most furniture; 5) Base detaches easily to carry canister to clean stairs, furniture, woodwork, shades & drapes, ceiling fans & lights, etc. and many jobs a shop vac is often used for (except wet cleanup); 6) Less Noisy; 7) Cord is thin/lightweight, doesn’t kink/tangle like heavier ones, and leaves little if any mark on baseboards and furniture; 8) No-touch bag removal—push a button and the bag drops into the trash. Additional Features and Details: Solidly built yet relatively lightweight. Cord is 30ft with excellent cord management: quick release holder, a grooved notch just below top handle to secure cord up and out of the way while floor vacuuming, and a notch on the plug to secure it to the cord after winding. Attachments (tools): 5 tools included, all ride along w/vac except the Pet Handimate (for furniture and carpeted stairs). They all work w/handle alone or handle connected to the long wand. All vac connections have solid quick-release buttons, including the hose/canister interface. No extreme bending to turn vac or brushroller on/off, operate disconnects, or adjust air flow. Removing canister from base and replacing can be done from upright position also. Attachments could be stored a bit higher though. The brushroller can be turned off/on. A light tells you whether it’s on or off. When turned on, the brushroller will stop automatically when the vac is placed in the full upright position, then starts again when the handle lowers to a vacuuming position. Works well cleaning rugs with latex backing. (We don’t have any rugs w/o latex so can’t comment). The LED pathway lights are very good. Hard Rubber wheels roll easily and don’t attract debris. A bag sensor with 4 lights tells you how full the bag is and when to replace it (located on top of canister so easy to see). High quality cloth HEPA bags are a reasonable $3-4. The HEPA filters cost around $10 (but a new foam filter is also included). Also, the Guide states you can extend the life of the HEPA filter and Foam filter by cleaning with cold water—no soap or hot water, and must be fully dry before reuse. An intuitive, laminated, one page Quick-Start Guide (4-Step Assembly, 4-Step Operation) is accompanied by an Instructional Guide with many high-quality images along with supportive text, Part Numbers, etc. Logically organized and easy to understand, obviously not written by a foreigner. Suggestions (See Photos): 1) We attach a “bumper guard” (found on AMZ) around the base to better protect furniture and baseboards. Use scissors to trim extra length after applying, then trim material away from front of the pathway light; 2) We zip-tie the cord to the canister handle to better control it, especially when carrying for use w/attachments; 3) Kenmore may not recommend this, but we use a carbon filter in place of the simple foam filter to better capture vapors and odors (cut from a carbon filter sheet to match foam filter dimensions). We’ve done this on previous bagged vacs for years w/o issue.

Why is this product allowed to be sold for the UK market without any notice or warning?!!! The plug is for US but that's not the major issue here, the voltage is 120V! If you plug this in the UK with an adoptor, you would blow up thhe vacuum cleaner! Dangerous! Now I have to make a trip to drop it off to a collection centre, what a waste of time!!!!

I purchased this vacuum to replace an Electrolux that I have had for 30 years. Although it doesn't stack up to the Electrolux's suction power, I doubt anything made today would. It cleans the carpets nicely and I love the swivel head and how easy it is to steer around corners etc. I would definitely recommend it for the modest price. The wand and attachments are also very handy also.
