Original Montgomery Mens London Luxury Duffle Coat - (40, Navy)

I live in a very cold and snowy state in the Midwest, USA. I was looking for a cold weather coat that would be dressier than a puffer jacket, but an alternative to formal overcoat. I settled on this coat and am pleased I did.  Mens London Luxury Duffle Coat -- (40, Navy) I liked the classic styling of this coat along with the high collar. It arrived just as the latest wave of bitter cold temperatures also arrived here; highs in the single digits (Fahrenheit) and below zero lows (along with dreaded windchills well below zero) - temperatures in the range of -12 to -25 C in other words. This coat has a heavy wool outer layer and a plaid, blanket-like lining and is more than adequate for normal going out about town in these conditions.The coat is exceptionally well-made; certainly worth the price, indeed a value considering it is made in England and not elsewhere. It is fully-lined, including the sleeve, with the plaid/blanket-like lining. All of the seams are taped; which is to say there are no unfinished edges of fabric anywhere. The closures are good quality (I was surprised that there is no zipper, though the horn and loop closures are enough on their own to keep out the wind) and the reverse side of the closure attachments are reinforced. The exterior pockets are just large enough (they could be a little bigger). There is one interior pocket which is, I have to admit, poorly placed (too low to be useful). It would be better to have a larger interior breast pocket.The fit is tailored (this, along with the generous collar, was another reason I choose this coat and not a classic duffel-style). I wear a 38 regular (US) suit. But that is not relevant in sizing this garment. If you are going to order this, measure your chest circumference with whatever type of clothes you would likely wear under the coat; I measured with a thick sweater/jumper and therefore ordered the 40; the fit was perfect.Despite these positive comments, I have two things to note. First, I would not order this coat to use as an overcoat with a suit or blazer. The lining is not smooth and will catch on your suit/sport coat sleeves - this will be frustrating. Order a proper overcoat if you are shopping for this kind of use. Given how thick and warm this coat is, it would be too warm to use as an overcoat anyway.Second, the detachable hood on this jacket is cleverly designed to lay flat when not in use. However, it is not well designed for actual use and I initiated waves of hilarity when I tried to use the hood - it looks a bit like a bishop's mitre when deployed. I would suggest the company consider a redesign with less concern about the hood laying flat - make it look and wear more like a proper duffel hood. After all, it is that kind of a coat. Even so, I like the design of the collar so much that I am keeping the coat and just dealing with the awkward hood feature with a stiff upper lip; or at least until Original Montgomery sends along a re-designed replacement hood.Cheers!

Great coat and workmanship. Navy version is very dark, almost black, but then I just might have a wrong color.I advise checking the sizing chart on the company's website, as I found the sizing to be somewhat larger for a more closer fit.

I would divorce my wife and marry this coat if I could. It's PERFECTION in every sense of the word.

As good as I hoped, high quality and good fit. The hood is removable which is a nice touch for a cleaner look and reduced weight in mild weather.

Da ich bei meiner Suche in meiner Heimatstadt keinen ordentlichen Duffelcoat gefunden habe, musste einer bestellt werden.Dabei stolperte ich über die Marke Original Montgomersy. Nachdem ich mich mit den britischen Größentabellen vertraut gemacht hatte, wurde die Jacke bestellt. Die Lieferung aus England ging mit DHL richtig fix. Es dauerte nur 3 Tage, dann hatte ich die Jacke (Standartversand). Wahrscheinlich Glück gehabt ;-).Die Qualität ist sehr gut. Man merkt es der Jacke an, dass sie handgenäht ist. Und durch die minimal längeren Ärmel der Briten, passt sie hier auch optimal. Für mich gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Wie ich erwartet hatte, handelt es sich um einen soliden Duffelcoat ohne Schnickschnack. Genau was ich wollte

Il Capo è arrivato velocemente, confezionato in una maniera non proprio accurata: era infilato in una busta di plastica spessa ma senza nessun'altra protezione.Mio figlio, longilineo, che di pantaloni veste una 48 slim, ha preso una 50 e la taglia va bene. Non è un capo che deve stare aderente.
