Used to be good but they make it differently now and it's worse. Sort of good enough.
I've been getting this for my rabbit since June 2024 and at that time it was great. The sticks could be broken apart into smaller pieces by hand and my bun liked them. Around October 2024 I ordered again but how it's made had changed since at least 1/3 of the sticks were way too compact. Whatever they use to bond the hay together is way too hard and my bun won't eat those. I smack the sticks with a hammer and they still don't break into smaller pieces so I end up throwing those out since I don't want my bun to accidentally chip his teeth. Plus I can tell the difference with how it looks on the surface. The ones that won't break apart and are too hard are incredibly smooth on the outside while the ones that I used to get back in 2024 summer have a slight fuzzy hay texture and could be broken apart. So basically from October 2024 till March 2025, I had to throw away at least 1/3 of the sticks. I know that exchanging them wouldn't make a difference since it looks like it's all been coming from the same batch.

High fiber treat for my rabbit
**Update** July 2017: Kaytee changed these hay cubes recently. They now have 10% protein (compared to the 6% they used to have) and 30% fiber (used to have 32%), so it seems they've increased the amount of alfalfa hay in these cubes, which isn't as ideal for adult rabbits. Due to the increased alfalfa, it is likely higher in calcium as well, and adult bunnies shouldn't have too much calcium. Most notably, the first two bags of these new hay cubes were now dryer, more crumbly, not as dense, and not as deep of a green color (there were now more golden hay bits in them which my rabbit leaves behind). My rabbit didn't care for the first two bags of this new recipe of "Timothy Hay Blend Cubes", but the 3rd bag seems to not be as crumbly as the first two bags, and he's happy with them again. Still, I wish Kaytee had left the formula alone. **Original Review**: My rescued rabbit loves these Timothy cubes! He thinks these hay cubes are the bee's knees. I buy them every month to make sure I don't run out. These cubes are like 1.25-1.5" square, and they vary in length. I break off a 3/4" piece from a cube to give to him every day so I can scoop his 2 litter boxes in peace. He settles right down to devour it. It's a great high-fiber treat that he loved from the very first time I gave it to him, and the protein is only at 6% so it's not too rich at all, and it agrees with his tummy. It's a treat I feel good about giving to him. It literally has the same nutritional analysis as Kaytee's regular Timothy hay. These do have a bit of alfalfa hay added, just enough to be sufficient for processing as Kaytee says, and it truly must be a minimal amount for the nutritional content to remain the same as straight up Timothy hay. These cubes really are only a treat though, I believe rabbits only use their front teeth to chew on these cubes - they need long strand hay to work and wear down their back teeth. As shown in the photo attached to this review, you can see how it leaves a bit of a mess on the carpet. It's short indoor/outdoor carpet in his bedroom, every couple days I just run my Bissell brush sweeper (it's like a non-electric manual vacuum, you see them used in restaurants a lot) over it like 15 times really quickly, and the hay bits all get cleaned up. If you have longer carpet, you might try giving this to your rabbit in a specific spot that's easier to clean, like on a towel or a piece of fleece or a piece of linoleum, though it won't do you any good if your rabbit decides to fling the hay cube around. =)

A Must Have for Rabbit Kit
I’ve been buying this for my Holland Lop for 2 years now. I’ve tried other brands because I wanted to see if there were any that were had more hay cubes for a lower price. There isn’t. This one is the best in terms of quality, it’s tough enough to help with their teeth, and doesn’t come apart easily. Price is reasonable. The only downside is that with one rabbit a bag will last you a week, so I buy 4 at a time, and the cubes come in various sizes.

Great for buns teeth
Have pur hased these many times over the years for my 3 buns they used to really love them but dont love them as much recently. Not sure if its a quality thing or the buns rather like the oxbow veggi hay cookie treats. Both are great for wearing down buns teeth.

Convenient, But a Treat, not a Staple
I love these hay cubes for adding variety to my bunny's diet, giving him something tasty to occupy his mind with, and for the sake of convenience if I'm not feeling well. Perhaps the most important; He adores them! However, these cubes are not a replacement for fresh, normal hay. For one thing, these cubes contain alfalfa, which, while great for growing bunnies and pregnant or lactating does, can cause your pet rabbit to put on weight if they consume too much of it. Additionally, the chewing motion your bunny will use to eat these cubes is different than hay strands. That isn't bad in and of itself, but it's important to make sure your rabbit is wearing down all of his or her teeth, due to the fact that they grow continually throughout the rabbit's life, and there's really no replacement for fresh hay when it comes to this. With that information out of the way, however, these cubes are affordable, and a healthy, fun treat for bunnies, so long as they're given in moderation. Due to this, I keep these tasty cubes in my amazon subcriptions for once a month, that way, my rabbit Teddy can have one whenever he's in the mood for something different.

Great Quality
Hay cubes are great quality! I wish these didn't have a price increase or I would have continued getting them - I've switched to Living Things brand hay cubes due to price competitiveness. My 2 netherland bunnies love both brands.

Buena calidad
