The original blade had only one edge which was damaged when another blade disintegrated. It can probably be reground to repair the damaged edge and to add a second edge. This replacement saves the time and is reversible so that sharpening can be postponed until it's time to sharpen both edges. If both blades last as long as the one blade on the original, it should last a good while before it needs to be sharpened.

The cutter blade came quickly and appears to be very sharp and installed easily. Haven't used the shredder since I put the new blade in but if it holds up better than the original, which literally turned into shrapnel, I will be happy.

Fine as a replacement blade. However, other reviews said it was dual edge sharpened, allowing extra usage. What I received was single edge sharpened as in the product I was replacing. This is actually not a negative comment, since the only way a blade with all four edges sharp could use all four would be to turn it upside down (impossible) or run the motor in reverse. The latter, if possible, would make the flat cutter blades useless. So I don't know what those people were talking about. But that is a critique of a review, not a negative comment about the item. I will note that it seems to be inherently open to metal fatigue and should be inspected regularly before it fails and possibly causes significant damage to the chipper/shredder, as has happened to me. But yes, I give it 5 stars because it does a fine job and is a very good replacement blade.

I bought my chipper a while ago (about 2 years). Used it a few times (total of about 4 hours) and it worked fine. But I have nothing but problems with this company trying to get a replacement blade that works. BEWARE.

I'd broken the original V-blade on my eco-shredder, and for a long time it seemed like there were no replacements available. Couldn't use the machine, even though it still ran perfectly - very frustrating; I was even thinking about getting a whole new one. When this came available I bought it, and it solved the problem. Fits perfectly, seems to be well-made, and so far works as well as the original. Shredder is working like new again. For what it's worth, I also sharpened the chipper blades, rather than buying new ones - if you can sharpen a knife, you can sharpen those blades as well.

I managed to break off both wings of the V blade on my 2004 McCulloch MCS1400 electric garden chipper/shredder the first time I used it on a large project, and it's been in the attic ever since. Recently, I decided to replace the broken blade, and found this one for later models of what appears to be the same design.Sure enough, this blade fits fine in the MCS1400, which now looks and works just like new. From a manual I downloaded from the McCulloch site, it also appears identical to their MCS2001 model.My only caution is be extra careful when installing this very sharp blade. I managed to cut myself despite trying to be careful.

The Durostar ES1600 blades will fit a Talon Trisecta Model:T3814, TGS814, 3 cycle Garden Shredder. I havn't tried them out yet so I cannot rate their performance.
