Great Price for carbon fiber...LEKI is THE name in walking poles
I went to my local outdoor store to find poles and they had a poor choice of nordic poles. everthing was hiking poles which are TOTALLY different. Nordic poles have a very different tip kinda shaped like a golf driver. They are made for you to propel yourself forward using your arms.The great feature about LEKI poles is the hand grip comes off the pole with a little push of the button on top of the handle. I think it's easier getting into the grips then putting the poles on but that's just personal preference.If you're thinking about nordic walking please watch some youtube videos how it's done. If done correctly you will be very tired after your walk and your arms will be very sore in the beginning.The poles have a lever that opens and closes easily so you can adjust the height on the bottom and top of the poles. There are other cheaper poles out there but from the reviews they don't hold up. Having a pole collapse on your can be dangerous.As far as the price what I paid for the carbon poles was what I saw aluminum poles selling for . While there may not be much difference in weight between aluminum and carbon aluminum does bend more easily and carbon is stiffer. I know this because I am a photographer who owns both carbon fiber and aluminum tripods. The carbon fiber tripod is far superior to the aluminum. I feel more secure with heavier equipment on my carbon tripod than taking a chance with the equipment on aluminum. I see the price has gone up for these poles since I purchased them but they're still cheaper than a retail website or store.FYI, you will get a lot of looks walking down the street with these poles. I don't know why it looks so strange to people if's just cross country skiing without the skis and snow. LOL

Worth the price
One month after hip replacement surgery, the home care physical therapist recommended that I purchase trekking poles to provide balance and stability now that I can walk around the hills where I live. I found YouTube videos of young mountaineers demonstrating the proper way to walk with trekking poles. Then I searched for trekking poles for seniors and discovered Nordic walking poles. Nordic walking poles are perfect for my walks around an urban landscape and even the trails that I hope to hike in a couple months. I chose the carbon poles for their strength and lightness. I am excited to get out on walks again with a tool that gives me a better cardio workout.

Excellent Poles, Wrong Model Name
These are actually Leki "Traveller Carbon" poles. Leki "Goods" is not the correct model name. The poles are well constructed, light and the length adjusting locks do not slip. I would recommend this product.

Expensive, but certainly quality items
I've been Nordic Walking for many years and, to date, made do with the cheapest rigid poles I could find. Then I went crazy and decided to get some of the most expensive available! The main motive was the ability to collapse the poles for steep climbs/scrambles and they have proven fine in this respect. The only issue I've found is that to prevent the poles slipping, the locking tabs have to be adjusted almost to the point where you can't close them and, accordingly, the process of collapsing and re-extending them can be a little protracted. The detachable cuffs are great if a little difficult to detach from the pole at times. Also the label on the end of the Velcro strap is, to my mind, reversed. Were it the other way around, the Velcro could be detached with greater ease. However, these remain my 'go-to' poles and I have no serious reservations about them. There may be lighter poles available, but I reckon these have the mass vs strength trade-off about right, and they look the part too. Good product worthy of the Leki name.

Sehr zufrieden

Variabel = gut?!
