I love this little speaker.Before this my favorite bluetooth speaker was an iHOME Bluetooth Mini Speaker System, Black (see my review). which is a fantastic little speaker. I saw this little speaker and being a guy wondered if I could actually put this in my pocket when I don't have my back pack.The iHome while small is just a little too big for that. Short answer, I can! I was concerned that the sound would be not as good as the iHome speaker so I did a "head to head" test switching between them with my phone in pandora. No real difference. The XSBOOM actually seems to be a little clearer. The iHome seems to be a little louder (only noticeable switching back and forth between the two). For old stereo geeks like me, it's the difference between Acoustic suspension (speakers with a sealed box) - the XSBOOM and Bass Reflex (speakers with a "hole") - the iHome. Again no noticeable difference volume wise without switching them back and forth.VolumeAt work I run it at about 75%. It is work of course and can't really rock the place. The sound is crystal clear. It does not "vibrate around the desk at all. If someone comes up to talk to me I have to turn it down. I can hear them, just don't want to be rude.Battery lifeI'm not really sure. I use it everyday about 2 hours during my planning. I have yet to run out of power. I charge it every 3 days or so just so I don't run out and think it must be about drained. I connected it to my laptop on Saturday morning to use for "system sounds". It was on continuously until Sunday evening it was still going strong. Again just using it for computer sounds beeps and such, not music. I then charged it up for Monday. I don't really listen for long blocks at a time.Construction,Nice! It seems to be machined from a single piece of aluminum. Very solid, the bottom of the speaker is rubber and even at full volume it does not vibrate or move. The iHome has "danced" off my desk a couple of times.I keep it's little charging cable in the bottom of the included felt bag. Since I keep it in it's little bag when not using it the condition of the speaker could pass as new.Customer serviceI had a question about the speaker when I first got it. Not about pairing or use (pairs without an issue). I got a response in a few minutes. They must be on a different time zone than I am because it was in the evening. Amazing.Do I still have my iHome? Yes, it now lives on my desk at home. Still love it, fantastic for it's price. But when I leave the house the XSBOOM is either in my pocket or in my backpack. Amazing speaker. Like that one credit card used to say (yes I'm old) I don't leave home without it. Would I recommend it? Yes I have, but usually I don't have to. People see it (once they find it on my desk, it's tiny) and want to know how to get one.Update 6/9/15I was just sitting here working on my notebook while listening to music on my great little speaker and thought I would update my review.This speaker is now my everyday speaker. It travels with me and my computer everywhere I go. The sound is still clean and clear. I'm not really sure how long the battery lasts because I don't have to recharge it that often and when I do I just plug it into my notebook and keep working. If I somehow lost this speaker I would be back online to buy another one immediately.All my other bluetooth speakers are sitting in a drawer at home.Fantastic speaker for use while working.UPDATE 7718/15Speaker still going strong. I use it almost daily. Great sound for such a small speaker. Incredibly well made. Battery life is fantastic.

Thanks! I just received it and I gotta say--and this statement is with nothing but affection--this is the cutest Bluetooth speaker I've ever purchased! I just recently got the iPhone 7+, and because of Apple's decision to eliminate the stereo mini jack, I realized that my stereo-mini-wired, passive $10 RadioShack speakers were no longer going to work for me (because you can't charge the 7+ and play back wired speakers at the same time). So... I went on a search for an inexpensive, compact, travel-friendly, Bluetooth speaker to replace my RadioShack wired speakers. I like to sleep using an iPhone app that generates both white noise and brown noise, which helps me from being awakened by the transient, disturbing sounds in my neighborhood and also when I'm in hotel rooms on travel. The iPhone's built-in speakers are too limited in frequency response to fulfill this job. I just conveniently and easily connected via Bluetooth the wonderfully crafted, very compact, XSBOOM speaker, and it totally fills that role, and in fact surpasses the sound of my wired Radio Shack speakers by orders of magnitude! This is an amazing product for the price. And, by the way, music playback is also totally satisfying from such a small package! It will become my "walkabout" speaker!! Thanks for a great product!

The Xboom is a great speaker. As everyone else has noted, it packs a impressive punch, and can easily provide sound for an entire room. They even manage to cram a sub-woofer in there, which seems to use the surface you place it on as one huge speaker cone, allowing this teeny speaker to have a impact comparable to speakers twice or three times its size. The caveat is that it really does matter what sort of surface you put it on, in terms of bass performance, I find that placing it on a desk, a ways from the corner does quite well. It's also very solidly built, and satisfyingly heavy in your hands. I feel like you could easily drop this down the stairs (even concrete stairs), with little more than cosmetic damage, though I have not tested this theory. With bluetooth, it pairs well. Using the included aux cable also works great, and lets you use the speaker even when out of battery (at a significant volume reduction, however). This is certainly a quality product, and pretty well worth the price.The only problem with this speaker is it doesnt quiiiite deliver perfect sound. The bass is solid. The trebble is solid. But there are two regions in the midrange where this speaker seems just to give up. It certainly is subtle, and probably the only reason I even notice is that I spend all day with my head stuck in gaming headphones that are three times the price and weight, at least five times the size, and about a quarter the maximum sound volume. But it's enough to be annoying, whenever my music swings through those regions. Most people probably won't notice, and I didn't for about two days. With voice, it's fine. And even some music avoids those regions naturally. All and all, a practically flawless product for most, and still a decent buy for the few that are annoyed by the weird frequency response.

** After posting this, the mfgrs contacted me, and are replacing mine. I am surprised and grateful for their support, and have hopes that this little speaker will work better (and longer) than my previous one. Very impressed with the service. **Cute as can be, and it worked well for a short time. However, on a road trip it failed to charge from the A/C adaptor, and has since refused to charge at all. Bought in March, dead in September.As they comped me on this one, after shipping the wrong color 2 times I can't complain (too much.) However I am now without a BT speaker, and not sure where to begin looking again. Won't be buying the XSBoom again, that's a certainty, even free.
