Nice clean solder, melts smooth and doesn’t smell awful
Grabbed this 0.8mm lead-free solder mostly for quick electronics fixes, and honestly it’s better than a lot of the random cheap coils I’ve tried. It melts cleanly — no weird spitting or burning — and the rosin core flows nicely around joints without you having to wrestle it. I used it on a couple of small component repairs and some LED wires and it grabbed well every time. The wire thickness is spot on for detailed stuff; not too chunky, not so thin that it snaps. The Sn99.3/Cu0.7 mix behaves really predictably once it’s heated, which is exactly what you want if you’re trying not to fry a tiny board. It’s only a 20g roll so you’ll get through it quicker than you’d think, but for little DIY jobs, repairs, or hobby electronics it’s ideal. Just a genuinely nice, easy-to-work-with solder that doesn’t make you regret going lead-free.

Great value Solder,0.8mm Solder Wire Lead Free
I recently purchased this 0.8mm lead-free solder wire (Sn99.3 Cu0.7), and it’s been a great addition to my DIY electronics kit. The first thing I noticed was how easy it is to work with. The 0.8mm thickness is ideal for precision jobs like circuit boards and small component repairs. It feeds smoothly and melts evenly without needing excessive heat, which makes it beginner-friendly but still reliable for more experienced users. The rosin core does a good job—there’s minimal need for extra flux, and the joints come out clean and shiny. I also appreciated that it produces less smoke and residue compared to some other solders I’ve used, which makes for a more pleasant working experience. Being lead-free is a big plus for safety and environmental reasons, especially if you’re using it indoors or around family. Despite that, it still provides strong, solid connections without brittleness. The 20g spool is compact and perfect for occasional repairs or small projects. If you’re doing heavy-duty or frequent soldering, you might go through it quickly, but for general DIY use it’s just right. Overall, this is a dependable, easy-to-use solder wire that delivers clean results. I’d definitely recommend it for electronics repair, hobby work, and beginners looking for a safe and effective option.

does the job
works ok but fairly high melting point so had to heat up a 25w soldering iron for 10 minutes before using.
