The XL size is the equivalent of a size 8 hat. I have a giant skull (to hold in all this brain and ego), and I'm happy to report that this hat actually fits. Yes, it's more expensive than other straw lifeguard hats, but it is worth every penny because it fits.

This style of hat has gained pop in recent years and for good reason. It protects not only the face but ears and neck too. Bought for my sunscreen-averse husband for when working in the yard. Here’s to hopefully avoiding skin cancer! Hat is made well and he says it’s comfortable.

My husband had this hat for years and it finally started to wear out, so he went on a search for a new hat and ended up buying the exact same one! High quality, looks nice, and he loves it.

Beautiful hats arrived undamaged probably not worth $50 for a straw hat but they’re really well logo’d so you can tell they take pride in their product. I bought 3 different styles and there was variation in quality in the straw. I prefer a tight weave and one of the 3 was loose/see through. The other two were acceptable but the loose weave will wear out more quickly. Overall I like them but be more stringent on quality if he hat is $50. If I had the ability to pick in store I would not have bought. I have attached two pictures, the first being the best quality, tight weave, no holes, the second I am not happy with as you can see through it and the grass is very thin. I love the pattern though so I will keep it but it is not protective enough of UV with the holes for me in Florida.

I bought this hat to use in Hawaii and I can’t wait to wear it. It’s so cute!!

It’s a little small. Tight on my head. Otherwise it’s great. Hopefully it will stretch a bit.
