Salux Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth/Towel - White

The genuine Japanese Salux wash cloths are amazing. I don't know personally about the Chinese/other knock-offs, but the reviews for those are bad. So, really, if you get one that rocks your world and lasts and lasts (I'm still using the one from 2009 with not a sign of wear/tear) and makes so much lather you extend the life of your bottle of pricey hypoallergenic or costly perfumed shower gel, than you got the real thing. These are long and they are rough-textured. I have sensitive skin prone to eczema, and I was afraid to use it. But I find if I don't use overly hot water and don't scrub too long, I'm fine. I do what a lot of sensitive skin folks do--I cream up forehead to toes as soon as I get out of the shower while skin is moist. With these towels, I know I got the dead skin and dirt off, and I can cream up with confidence. The trick with the towel is to wet it thoroughly BEFORE you squeeze on a dollop of your shower gel or rub your bar of soap on it --works best with liquid soap or gel, just so you know. Then squish and mush it up in your hands. It will lather up like mad. Even gels that didn't lather up much in regular cloth towels for me, they later up a lot with the Salux. Which is GREAT. Okay, so then you keep the towel out of the strong water stream, or the lather will rinse right off. That's one of the key things about the Salux. It rinses thoroughly FAST. No residue. So it stays fresh-smelling, clean, and keeps working just right. The only reason I'm ordering more is that I gave my back-up one to hubby to scrub his back--the Salux is long enough that you can open it up, hold end to end, and scrub your back. So, I want two to have a back-up for him and for me. Or even to add to gift baskets. Cause, really, these things don't seem to wear out. Like I said, 2 1/2 years and counting..still going strong. If you hate rough-textured stuff, skip this. If you love how soft your skin feels and how unclogged your pores are after exfoliating, this is a wonderful invention of a wash cloth. Try it. It's pretty cheap for its usefulness and durability. (Great for scrubbing rough elbows and soles of feet, too, after pumicing, to help fully smooth out.) I keep one of those old-fashioned laundry clips I inherited from MIL (top is like the hangar hood and bottom is like those bag clips) and I keep mine hanging to dry in the shower off the towel rack that's in there. Dries fine. If you have Keratosis P on your upper arms (like I did), this baby took care of that. I have smooth arms now. In case you're confused about the numbers--100, 300, and such--my understanding from the official Salux site is that the number is for the color/packaging (how many and what colors), but that they are all the same size. Enjoy. NOTE: I ordered from DANIEL'S HOUSE on Jan 19 and got it fast and it's the REAL THING (at least judging from the packaging, which is the same as my original order of SALUX from a Japanese market. I also felt it with my fingers and compared, and it feels the same. HTH...

I have this 5 stars on softness but these products are as hard or soft as you want them to be by how hard you scrape them across your skin or near down when using them. I have the Hard one and the #100, #200, and #300 — each is a different roughness. I wanted to get one of each to determine which I liked the best. I like all of them. The reason I only gave 4 stars on Easy To Use was because I wish they were about 5” longer or a 40” instead of 34 or 35”. I’m older, stiffer, and my knees, shoulders and back are stiff plus my balance isn’t the best. So picking up my knees or feet in a slippery wet tub or shower sometimes isn’t such a good idea. It is was at least 40” maybe 45-46” it would be easier to get around my back and shoulders and would certainly be easier to get under my feet and around my heels and ankles. I could just loop in two, hold on to the bar, and slip my foot into the loop and run back and forth. Or sit on side of tub and do the same loop and pitch over my feet to get my ankles. I’m thinking of taking two of them and sewing them together overlapping and using several zigzag/lock stitches but even that’s going to leave me lump where they come together. Once I sew them together - I will be able to tell the perfect length, at least for me. I say 45-46” because I’m only 5’ tall woman, so if I think they could be longer, I’m sure some 6’ men would like them longer too. I have bought many of these types of products over the years, but these Salux ones have worked best for me so far — amd you can use dry or wet or soaped up. After soaping up and they get sudsy and bubbly easy - keep out of running water until done because they rinse out very easy so no,since wasting soap until you are finished. They leave your skin soft soft. Sometimes I use a black olive Moroccan soap — you are suppose to get all hot first so I take my shower first with my regular soap, then turn the water as hot as I can stand it. Rub down with the black olive oil soap and sit on the tub with the bathroom all steamy — sometimes turn the heater on to get it really warm. Sit for 5-8 minutes and then either rinse it off or just leave it and start using the Salux — oh my gosh the dead skin rolls off — it’s unbelievable. When all done and rinsed, my skin is so soft. Then I use argan oil, Shea butter, Virgin cold pressed coconut oil or just baby oil if out of the others all over and my skin feels like I’ve had a $300 body scrub and massage. Because the bathroom is so warm, the coconut oil liquifies a bit and is easy to apply. I do my fancy black olive soap and the whole routine about once a month but use the Salux on my body every couple of days with my regular Dr. Bonners peppermint soap (get from Kroger - cheapest price I have found). About once a week or two, I use the Salux very gently on my face with my facial soap. Gosh , my skin just glows — looks like much younger skin. I use my vitamin C serum, let it dry and then apply my Oil of Olay (the original pink formulation) and the next morning it is so much brighter and healthy looking with all that dead skin gone. I have another little rubber scrubby thingy I use every day. It’s good for circulation while you wash but doesn’t do all that much for exfoliating. The only thing is just be gentle until you decide what pressure works for you. Especially if you have sensitive skin or skin that’s prone to be scratched up. My skin is sensitive but like I say - you can go as easy as a feather or as hard as you want. One word of warning — there are frauds out there or counterfeits calling themselves the same thing and their ad and pictures look the same. A friend got some and they fell apart, had some kind of trash in the nylon mesh, etc. and didn’t come in the sealed Salux bag like each of the ones I got did. She had gotten them and waited for a few months to open the outer packaging or to use them (just out the whole package on the shelf) so it was past the return date. I gave her one of mine and she loves them. When she gets ready to order — she will get from the same vendor I did. If you buy make sure you open the package up when you get them to make sure of what you were shipped. Look for those with the numbers in the corner I.e. Hard, #100, etc. Don’t get hung up on the colors because they have all the same colors in the different roughnesses. They could make it easier for selling to us that don’t read Japanese if they made each roughness a different color like Hard would be blue,#100 would be pink,#200 green and #300 white, etc. The package probably says what roughness it is but that doesn’t help me. Of course they could just say like they did the Hard one — describe the roughness.

I love this thing. It makes exfoliating so much easier, especially my back. My favorite thing is how quickly it dries, which makes it easy to keep clean. It feels much more sanitary than other types of scrubbing cloths, loofahs, etc.

Have you seen Encino Man? Remember the part where Brenden Fraser thaws out and he's covered in a thick, sebaceous crust? And then he gets his makeover from Pauly Shore and his skin is clean and glowing? That's exactly how I felt before and after Salux came into my life. Before Salux, I could run my nails across my skin in the shower and end up with gobs of grey dead skin in my hands. It was disgusting, and my exfoliating body washes were a complete joke. Same with loofah puffs and shower gloves. Totally useless for my level of dead skin. I started looking into more serious exfoliation options, like what the ladies at spas use for intense exfoliation treatments. The word 'Salux' kept popping up, so I bought one. Holy crap. It's a game-changer!! It's as good as everyone says. I bought the white one because I was skeptical and I wanted to see how much dead skin was left in the nylon cloth. It was gross and beautiful to see how effective this cloth was/is! The first time I used it, yeah, it was kinda rough. But it was also invigorating in a magical way. My skin tingled and now I don't truly feel clean until I've scrubbed my body with my Salux. I can't tell if it's softened a little since the first use, or if I'm just used to it now. The bumps on the backs of my arms are 90% gone, and so are the little red bumps I'd get on my cheeks. My skin tone has become more even, and I daresay that I glow now! Yes I use it on my face, especially to remove the dead skin buildup from around my nose. I just take a little more care to be gentle and I avoid my delicate eye area. If you are damaging your skin then you're scrubbing too hard. I've used it with water only, but I find that bar soap and shower gel help it glide more easily over my body. It's been about a month now and my skin looks amazing. I don't moisturize much at all. This is the only thing I've changed in my routine so I can honestly say it's because of using a Salux regularly. Plus I don't itch like crazy all winter, even though our air is very, very dry. Make sure you get the genuine product because there are tons of knock-offs.

Love It, Even Without the Loop I had a similar exfoliating bath cloth from Muji years ago and did not realize until recently that this style actually had an original patented version. After my old one was gone, I went about two months without one and used a regular drugstore poof instead, and the difference was noticeable. There was a delay in shipping, but once this arrived, I was so glad I ordered it. It made me feel refreshed, invigorated, and like my skin was fully awake again. It was a little rough and stiff at first, but I expect it will soften with use. Even without a hanging loop, it is long enough to fold over a hook to dry and easy to use. Great for smoother, softer skin, and I have noticed my skin flakes less now. Just make sure to moisturize after.

If you like a good back scratch, this is the BEST back scrubber scratcher ever!!! Easy to use with only water, or liquid, even bar soap. Not just for your back, works much better than a loofah! You will never use a cumbersome back brush again. Dries quickly and is machine washable!

Who needs luffa, pumice, abrading scrubs, or fabric washcloths anymore? Rough, flaky, thickened, or broken-out skin always gets a good cleansing and gentle smoothing with these textured, stretchy durable mesh cloths! Body washes suds up just as well as with any "puff." I've used these cloths with satisfaction for all my life (and only needed a new one every few years)! I never use a traditional washcloth in the shower or bath; only these. The BEST thing is that at almost 3' long (1' wide), it's easy to wash your own back, with a satisfying back-scratch included! I have back and shoulder mobility limitations, and these are the only simple answer to be found. They can seem a little rough at first use, but the weave and threads relax and soften with a little use. Maybe around the eyes is the only place I use my fingers or terrycloth. The mesh rinses clear-water clean every time. They are never stinky or gross, as long as you rinse them under running water and let drip-dry in minutes on the shower- or tower-bar. But if you need to, they are durably machine-washable.

I love this bath cloth! I know that suds aren't really necessary to clean your body. In fact, some experts recommend we merely rinse ourselves with water and clean only our dirty parts with soap. But what fun is that? I want to be surrounded by bubbles in my shower; it is my morning spa time. I recently switched from body washes to natural soap, and I was having trouble getting any suds washing with the soap right on skin. Using a soap sock helped, but the cord and mess bottom were always in the way (plus, I still couldn't reach the middle of my back). As I was searching online for another method of getting suds out of natural soap bars, someone mentioned the Salux cloth and its prolific suds production. I had never heard of Salux and ran over to Amazon to order one. I am so glad I did! In the shower, I wet the cloth and suds it up with my bar of soap. I then turn off the water because my shower stall is too small for me to get out of the water stream which instantly rinses the cloth and makes my bubbles disappear. I shimmy the cloth down my back and butt and then wash the back of each leg the same way. I go back up to my neck and wash my front down to my feet, and I still have a ton of bubbles left to wash down the drain once I turn the water back on. It feels so decadent to have so many suds at the end of my shower! The cloth rinses out instantly and is ready to hang dry. I feel so exfoliated and smooth afterwards and extra super clean. My only problem is what to do with all of those shower poofs I have stockpiled in my closet (guess what the ladies at work are receiving with their holiday presents this year). And my soap socks are back to their original purpose of holding soap shards too small to use with the Salux. I highly recommend this product to anyone who loves suds and exfoliating their skin. (I bought mine from JapanSuperMall and received the genuine Made in Japan product and not the counterfeit Made in China fake.)
