I have tried countless acne treatments, but this Neutrogena Stubborn Acne AM Treatment is an absolute game-changer. I had a terrible, painful breakout with severe swelling and redness that looked horrible. I applied a thin layer of this 2.5% micronized benzoyl peroxide treatment, and the results the next day were jaw-dropping. Within basically one single day, the swelling went all the way down, and the redness disappeared. My skin looks so much better and is almost completely clear. What I love most is that the micronized formula absorbs quickly without leaving a heavy, chalky white residue, and the oil-free, paraben-free formula didn't dry out my skin excessively like other benzoyl peroxide products do. If you are struggling with stubborn breakouts and need fast, visible relief, this is worth every penny.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this stuff has earned it! I have struggled with acne all my life, particularly the cystic inflamed hormone-induced type since my first pregnancy 13yrs ago. I'm in my early 40s still struggling with this. I had tried a benzoyl peroxide product in college but I remember it bleaching all my towels and don't recall it being very effective on my breakouts, so I never went back to it and used salicylic acid for spot treatment ever since, though it hasn't really been all that effective. I stumbled across this product on an ad, and I NEVER click on ads, but I thought, why not at least look at it, it can't hurt to check out a different product. I ordered it 4 months ago, and I'VE STOPPED NEEDING MAKEUP to hide my blemishes! I started using it during a good stretch, and I have literally had only 3 cystic acne pop up. In 4 months. And not even at the same time (they'd come as many as 6 at a time during my worst breakouts). I use this stuff twice a day on my problem areas without any drying (my skin runs on the oily side), and my skin has not looked this good since I did acutane 20yrs ago (the only few years since my teens with good skin). And no bleaching of towels like I feared. I will shout from the rooftops what an amazing product this is!

I've been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne outbreaks and I was initially suggested benzoyl peroxide for relief. This stuff is very effective and an affordable option for treatment, but with a few caveats. Benzoyl peroxide is HARSH on the skin. This stuff will dry you out and wreck your skin barrier if you're not careful. The product itself says to use all over the face, but that was one of the ways I quickly wrecked my skin. Use it more as a spot treatment to target pimples and problem areas if you want to be safe. Secondly, your skin will either burn or become covered in melasma and dark spots if you're not careful. I ended up with the latter. SPF is a MUST and applying it diligently all day. This product will increase your sun sensitivity. I'm now in the process of trying to rehab my skin after years of benzoyl peroxide causing discolored skin, even with SPF usage. Lastly, benzoyl peroxide will STAIN. If you have any residual amounts on your hands and touch your clothing or a hand towel after washing your hands, it's going to bleach your clothes/towels. If you try to use the product at night, it will bleach your bedding like pillow cases or anything that potentially touches your face. Be very, very careful not to get it on anything that you don't want ruined.

I’ve used the Obagi mirconized BPO for stubborn breakouts since I was a teenager. On a whim and dealing with some “pomade acne” last summer, I searched for micronized BPO and was DELIGHTED to find this product from Neutrogena! This has a more viscous texture than the Obagi product but works JUST AS WELL, or BETTER! I’m FLOORED! I’m just about to purchase a second tube to keep on hand just in case, because this really does work well! It’s best if you can do your normal PM routine and then use this as your treatment step. It may dry you out and it WILL bleach your pillowcase and pajamas, but it WILL work!

Works but stains clothes. We found out the hard way, my son stained his favorites tees before we realized it was the cream.

We had literally went through EVERY REGIMEN AND MEDICATION IN two years. Be on one for 3-6 months, nothing, then the next trial, nothing… adaptalene helped for a week after about 2 months but then it flared back up and never helped again. I found this one day after much research and decided to try something new, make my own regimen, benzoyl peroxide 10% face wash, proactive toner, la roche moisturizer for oily to combo skin(yes kinda pricey) but between that and this stubborn acne it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE! Within 3 months his acne and scars were gone!!! Note he suffers from bad huge cystic acne and this was a miracle worker! Now we wash, moisturize twice daily and mondays and thursdays we add the toner and stubborn acne and been doing this for about a year now with zero relapse!! Yes he still gets 1-2 occasionally pimples from black heads if we skip our weekly exfoliating too much but not anything like before goodbye cystic acne!!! Look just try it and BE PATIENT FOR ABOUT 3weeks-6 weeks u will see results and after 6months-year—gone

I use this for my underarms , and it works I don’t need to use deodorant anymore. But this is too drying so be careful not to use everyday for sensitive areas. I did not use this for my face , too drying
