These headphones work great! I bought them while I was away visiting family and wanted something that I could use while on my long flight back home. The noise cancellation worked perfectly! They stayed connected the whole time. They are not heavy at all. I was able to wear them and not have to remove one cup from my ear so that I could hear people speaking to me. Whenever I started walking, the headphones adjusted so that I could hear my surroundings. The bass was deep and punchy with NO distortion at all! The buttons are easy to reach and are programmable. These are solid headphones that my son recommended for me and they did NOT disappoint!

I absolutely love my Sony XM4’s. I tried the Bose QuietComfort headphones, but the Sony’s blow the Bose out of the waters. Bose were comfortable, and the noise cancelling worked great, but the sound quality didn’t particularly amaze me compared to my JBL Tune 760NC’s. The Bose app was also underwhelming, with basic EQ. The Sony XM4’s, however, have a much superior in-app EQ. I was able to dial in the exact sound I wanted. They are also light and comfortable, and the noise cancelling works extremely well, with the ability to modulate ambient noise and voice pass through. For the money, these headphones are worth it.

I've had these headphones for almost 6 months now and so far, no complaints. The noise cancellation is as close to perfect as you can realistically get. The battery life is absolutely insane; I can count on one hand the amount of times I've actually had to charge them. The design itself is also really sleek and they're very comfortable to wear. The sound itself is also very immersive and plenty loud yet still won't pierce your ears and damage your hearing even at full volume. Pls do not wear these when working out cus the the synthetic leather on the cups is not designed to withstand excessive moisture, especially from heavy sweating. And with the XM5's out these are a bargain and perform every bit as well as the new models. I personally like the design of these much better than the XM5's since they also fold for easy storage whereas the new ones do not. Also the manufacturer threw in a free power bank as well. Although they gave me an energizer one instead of the anker one that was advertised but that's fine since it looks just as good and works just as well so that's not an issue at all. All in all great purchase can't wait to use these on a plane. Get them while you still can, cannot recommend these enough

The Sony XM4 is truly the best in class. The noise cancellation is a night and day difference to the audio listening experience. If you have experience with AirPods Pro, the ANC on these is on another level. Sound quality is superb and the app includes customization features to tweak the EQ to your liking. Want more bass? Dial it up, same for treble and many other frequencies (you can Google recommendations to start somewhere). Battery life is excellent. Of course fit and comfort are important too and the XM4s are extremely comfortable, materials are pleasant to feel as well. Premium product, premium performance, affordable price.

If I had read the Amazon reviews I probably wouldn't have bought it, namely the top review where complaints about critical things I need like BT pairing with a laptop and VOIP call quality being terrible would've put me off. That being said though I've had none of those issues! The headphones paired perfectly with my phone, and my laptop (simultaneously). Call quality was leagues better than my QC35's on both devices, pairing was effortless albeit a bit slow (took a few more seconds than I'm accustomed to) and I didn't have to play with weird input devices like the other reviewer mentioned. It just, worked. Call Quality: Normal calls, WhatsApp calls, video calls (phone) or VOIP (laptop) were all equally clear. No issues concerning choosing the correct mic in Windows or Teams. Even with my airconditioner on full blast right above my desk I was clear to other call participants who didn't even notice. I was mostly interested in this feature as I take a number of calls for work and they really delivered a smooth and painless experience. Music: Music quality was great, rich bass, and the noise cancelling was adaptable depending on the ambient noise you were experiencing at the time, rather than cranking it up to max and leaving it there. I enjoy music but it isn't my primary reason for getting the headset. BT Range: This was a sore point on my previous headset, but these kept a great connection despite being a room or two away through concrete walls. Allows me to pop to the kitchen during calls without dropping a connection or experiencing any audio quality issues. It remained clear at all times. Fit and Finish: They feel luxurious, the outer coating is nice and soft but more importantly the headset feels light so wearing them for hours while at work in between calls without feeling the need to remove them is easy (although a small note on this later*). Nothing in life is perfect so here are the negatives: The haptic controls, they work, kinda. The volume up and down is fine, but double tapping to answer or pause is a bit "hit-and-miss". It does eventually get it if you keep trying and sometimes it gets it immediately but it isn't consistent. The earcups aren't terribly deep so if you have bigger ears or they are more pronounced you will be up against the inner cup which means wearing them for hours on end may end up being irritating. *They also get quite warm but not unbearable - in reference to wearing them for a few hours. Overall very happy I got them on sale ($255 without import duties) with the power bank, it was an extremely worthwhile purchase and one I would recommend to others.

Bought these before a stint of lots of international travel, knowing I'd be spending a lot of time on planes. I don't have much experience with active noise cancelling, but I found these to be very good, though not perfect. More so than cancel the engine noise, it tones it down. A few times I've wondered if the battery died because I could clearly make out the engine noise, only to take them off and feel the engine volume turn from a 2 to a 7. As one would hope, these make you forget how loud the plane really is. Beyond the ANC, the audio quality is great, and I appreciate that these work both cabled and over Bluetooth. The case is thoughtfully designed to carry all the various pieces needed. And the battery... WOW. While they weren't in constant use, I took one trip that was basically 20 hours of transit time. I had them on most of the time I was on the plane (ANC always working, but not always audio on) and while waiting at gates. After a full day, the battery was reporting being at 60%. Amazing. The gesture audio controls can be a bit finnicky. It seems to often mistake a forward/backward gesture for and up/down gesture and vice-versa, changing tracks instead of volume or the other way 'round. But it's not the end of the world and generally it gets it right. These are worth the hype and well worth the money.

I had the Sony WH-1000XM3's and I'm telling you, these are a pretty big step up. The sound is better - period. I read a review that said if you have the WH-1000XM3's to not buy the WH-1000XM4's. I couldn't disagree more. These headphones are awesome. The bass is much improved - tighter and stronger. The mids seem clearer to me and the there's more treble which I like. I also like the features - stops the song when you take them off and when you speak the headphones stop playing music and you can hear ambient. I will say that when you use the high level of noise canceling there is a bit of a hiss that you can hear in between songs. It doesn't bother me personally. I'm used to hiss - I grew up with cassette tapes - Lol. I can't hear it with the slightest of music playing. I will say that the MX1000

Comes with an awesome lightweight power bank for the same price as the regular headphones through sony. The headphones work great, I love how light weight and comfy they are. The noise cancelling is fantastic, I often find myself using it without audio just to enjoy the extreme silence.
