Smart Lamp with plenty of functionality and brightness
When it first arrived I was surpised by the size of the lamp, as looking at the image on Amazon I had thought it was going to be bigger, but actually it's still very bright for it's size.I had it setup within 15 minutes, and being controlled by the Amazon Echo striaght away. As you can see the light is actually quite bright and is about the same size of the Amazon Echo next to it, it is very easy to turn on/off and change colour or brightness with Alexa. Also if you prefer to setup a schedule to turn on/off the light then that is also possible within the Meross app.Overall I am very happy with the lamp after about 1 week use, and considering buying a few as it would be a good little Christmas present.

A really pleasant surprise!
Honestly, I did not expect a night light to have so many features - it just ticks off everything from my list. The brightness is surprisingly good - 'too good for a night light' I thought, just before discovering than it's 100% dimmable, so it can be adjusted freely, to serve as a perfect night light. If you fancy a mood light on the other hand, if has you covered with a WHOLE RANGE of colours to select from via the app - not just a measly RGBW. What still surprises me, is the second mode of lightning - allowing the user to choose the light temperature - from warm 2700K, all the way to cold 6500K.Timing is doable via the app, setup is seamless and responsiveness almost instantaneous - another surprisingly good attempt by Meross!

Great Light that has good output and is easy to set up and control
Bought this to use as a mood light for our TV room, we wanted something to add a little glow. I was really surprised at how bright this light is, but that's a good point as it is so controllable and when dimmed to 1% it is hardly lit, there are no big jumps between steps in the brightness with a very linear lamp brightness. The white level can be selected from a quite harsh white to a very warm white (2700K) in 12 stepped increments. You also get an RGB colour wheel that has a very wide colour range with excellent brightness. The light was really easy to set up and add to the Meross APP, and link to Alexa as a skill, I quickly created 4 routines that give me my desired settings using voice. I created Light On (this is the light at 50%, this suits our room), Light Full this is Light at 100%, Light Mood this is a purple/blue colour at 60%, and light off making it really easy to control using voice. The instructions are clear and simple and not printed so small that you need a magnifying glass to read them. I can honestly say that this is one of the few items that I have purchased that my wife actually thinks is great (trust me that is no mean feat), will be buying more of these.

Neat little ambient smart light, ideal for mood lighting or a nursery
I was offered the chance to try one of these lights out by Meross, and as I've had some of their products before and been impressed by them I thought I'd take them up on it. I believe that this is a new version of the nightlight, but as I've not used the original I won't be able to say anything about differences between the versions. What I can say, though, is that it's miles better than the smart nighlight I used to use when my children were very young not so long ago.So, the bad points: it's 2.4GHz wireless only, which can cause problems for some home networks. It seems to be a standard thing with IoT devices, though, and chances are if you have a smart home setup then you'll already be aware of this and have a workaround. In my case, I already have a dedicated 2.4GHz IoT network in my home just for smart products, so it's not a problem. I can say that the network reception on the device is excellent - I've had no trouble getting it connected to the network anywhere in the house at all.As a point of personal preference, the colour of the plastic base is a neutral shade of beige, but I would have preferred it to match the frosted top or to be something a little more up to date. It's inoffensive and will go with most room colour schemes, but if it were, say, silver like the central band then it would also suit other rooms as well. I would also have preferred the cable to either match the base or to be black like most other power cables. I was also a little surprised that while it's powered through a standard usb plug and the power cable has a standard USB connector, the other end is a dc-jack type connector of some sort. A standard usb connector on both ends would at least let you swap the cable to suit (either for colour or to increase the length, for example), and if you'd taken the device away with you but forgot the cable you could use one of your spare cables or find one in a local supermarket. However, those tiny little niggles are the only things against the device, and most people probably wouldn't care about those things at all. In terms of travel, it's very light and small enough to take with you wherever you go. The controls on the light itself mean that you can switch colours and turn it on and off without the app easily enough, although dimming is only available through the app as far as I can tell. The controls on the app itself are also easy to use - the colour or light temperature is controlled with a spinning dial, and the dimming is controlled by the outer ring on that dial. It's a bit different, but it works well. The app itself is simple and easy to use, too, and lets you set routines for it to turn on and off automatically, for example, or automatically power off after a certain amount of time.In terms of connections to other things, I run home assistant so I was able (with an unofficial Meross Cloud IoT integration) to link it into my smart home setup very easily, controlling the dimming and the colours through that with no appreciable delay at all. The fact that Meross bother to provide an API is a major plus point, and something I really wish more manufacturers of smart home products would do.Overall, then, it's a great bit of kit and brilliant value for money. It only stops a little short of perfect because of the lack of 5GHz support, and because of the dc-style connector jack on the usb cable. However, these are very minor niggles and not unique among similar smart nightlights at all, and it's certainly not worth losing a star over those minor points. I just wish this had been available back when my kids, but as it is I'm using it for low-level mood lighting and it's ideal for that.

Works perfectly as expected
Worth pointing out I have quite a few Meross items, single plugs, extension strips and a couple of bulbs. So I'm all set up with the app linked to both my google and alexa speakers. Therefore not surprised it connected very quickly with no issues. Meross do update the app frequently, I wouldn't have bought so much if their stuff if they didn't.This isn't actually for a baby so that it's lightweight isn't ideal but I see why they've done it. It's also more taupe than grey which is how it appears in my pics.Works great with a power bank however I discovered my big bank has a non mechanical on off switch which meant it would cut off power. A bank without the switch has worked perfectly. This is used mainly used for at night in the hallway, when you don't want the lights on full. If I want the bathroom I ask whisper to alexa a command and she turns it on for 4mins. I'd ask google but it's so shouty which isn't ideal at 2am.You get a plug and a usb cable with a thin tube end like a laptop cable.I'd love it to be rechargeable. But it does what we need and the powerbank option is a good one to have. I'd also have liked the cable to be microsd in case I lose the cable.Overall, very happy, took less than 10 mins to set up, set up Alexa command and the design is simple unobtrusive. I'd pay extra for a rechargeable one though.
