Implements the basic Mesh network concept but the overall speed is pretty slow for family use.InstallationI have this setup in a 2 story 4,000 SQFT house.The initial setup is very challenging as the small guide for installation does not match the actual steps. the software does not even look anything like the instructions.it says to go to 192.168.1.1 to configure but it turns out to be 192.168.8.1 I had to look at settings in ipconfig to find this. if you don't work with computer networks, you will be in trouble.then comes the actual software. on the guide, it shows a lot of features including access control(parent control) this is nowhere to be found when I was able to log in. wifi came preset up without any authentications. so you need to setup wifi credentials unless you want to use open access. clients worked without any additional setup.usageAfter the struggle of installing.....signal is good but not exceptional. you have to be touching the box to get 100 WIFI signal strength. but within 30 feet. you will be anywhere from 75 to 95 strength. you will be moved from one node to the closest node when your signal falls below 50. I was able to put one on the first floor, and 2 on second floor on opposite sides. I do have open floor plan so it had pretty clear reception from floor 1 to floor2. The basic of Mesh network does work as designed.The speed of the network is a concern. I have a 200MB internet package. even at 95% signal I was only getting at best 34 MBs. at the edge of the network I was getting 14MBs. for a family of 5, this simply won't cut it. just the teenager by himself would need at least 75 to 100 mbs.Pro:Basic Mesh network implementation.has 3 nodes.ConsInstructions does not match actual implementation.No parental control settings.Setting interface is very basicSlow Network speeds. 20% of what it should be providing.PriceI would not recommend this product.
