I thing the marking gauge is very good but was already scratch when I received. The paint seems too fragil but does the work with careful. I think the dovetail market is very good and the material looks good at touch.

Slick packaging, very refined and stylish. This is going to be a joy to use in my quest for learning dovetails!

Very solid, heavy brass slider. Precise measuring lines on the stick part. Easy to use and feels like it will last generations!

For the money the marking gauge does the job it's supposed to do at a decent price. I like that it has both measurement units on either side of the beam which is really useful vs need two different tools.What I don't like is the locking mechanism - it's pretty rubbish. It's just a screw tightening onto the metal beam, which is 1. Difficult to tighten because the head is relatively small. 2. The fence can often easily rotate allowing the screw to scratch the beam. 3. You can't easily make fine adjustments with tension without scratching the paint.The other problem is that you can easily scratch the paint around the markings and they become difficult to see.What I have done is super glued a small rubber pad to the bottom of the screw and cut it small enough to fit. Now there'll be no damage and it prevents fence rotation.

Marks wood well, but the tightening knob is a bit small and fiddly for large fingers. Good value overall.

The wheel on the end spins so the gauge doesnt really cut a line just presses in like a pizza cutter. I thought this was normal until i looked at some online forums where people stated it should sit still and you rotate it slightly when needed to get a sharp edge. Not sure if thats normal for this particular gauge or if a piece is missing.

Both the marking gauge and the dovetail jig are well built. The dovetail jig was easy to assemble. The screws fit perfectly. It is a good value for the cost. I really don't understand the negative reviews. If the unit is handled with care, it is easily adjusted & holds its setting after multiple uses. It is not too difficult to damage small components with agressive torquing. One has to handle precision tools with care.
