The quality of this hat as far as materials go, is very nice however, do NOT purchase this hat if you expect it to fit properly on a normal-shaped head. The depth of the crown is far too shallow for the band to reach down onto your head enough to even function correctly.To add; I purchased this hat and it took nearly a full month to arrive. When it did arrive, the box was crushed and ripped apart and the hat has smashed and crushed as well - so mush so, that trying to return it to normal would not happen.The return for a refund has already started out to be a nightmare. The company will NOT pay for return shipping, will NOT provide a refund for up to and exceeding 14 days AFTER they receive the hat back...and it cost me $25.00 out of pocket to ship this hat back!Bottom line - I just spent money for a complete waste of time and was charged for the time I wasted.I would strongly recommend seeking hats from other companies who hold customers time and money as being valauble.

The hat looks good online but when I got it in the center of the hat with the medallion was to the right it wasn't on straight I know its a cheap hat but they could've at least put the material on right. the hat didn't even fit half of on my head. Also who ever bent the bill did a poor job it was all bent bad and uneven and to make matters worse I had to pay for shipping the hat back witch came out to 11 dollars and they are charging me a 10% restocking fee. so I should've kept it to use it for a dog bed. I will never buy from this company again.

What I like about this hat, is the patina of the leather, and the construction. It's a well made leather hat, the brim was easily shapeable, and it fits well. I have one nitpicky concern. The hatband isn't removeable, which means the way offcenter metal conch thing on the brim can't be moved. It's so offcenter that when you look at it, it tricks you into thinking the hat is crooked. I'm looking into getting a hatband to replace it.

I read the other reviews, maybe I have an oval head but this fits very well. I did order a size up though, and happy I did.It isn’t the deepest hat, so know that going in, but nice leather (none of that PU stuff), came uncrushed and in proper packaging, and the little metal stamp on the front is centered. Big fan!

Walker and Hawkes - Leather Cowhide Outback Antique Hat: This is a beautiful hat, well made with quality materials, but the 2XL runs small. I have another 2XL hat from Dorfman Pacific Co. that fits perfectly, but this one sits up on top of my head like a beret. It's a nice enough hat I didn't want to return it and gave it to my father instead. I wear a 7&7/8 to 8. I hope this helps to guide your purchase.

Waited a month and a half to get it. Once received, it's too big,and I ordered medium! Too much trouble to send back for right size. Box was crushed when received along with crushed hat inside. After one week of wearing, metal band in brim of hat broke and poked through. Not a happy customer.

Metal buckle which should have been dead forward, was shifted off to the side. managed to reform hat so that it was centered, but if you look inside hat the name etc is off at an angle. Kind of disappointing. Materials look good and fit is also good. The hat is not a very deep hat and at least my reached the top before I kind of thought it would. Sits a little high.

Really great hat!!! I love the "distressed" "weathered" look...I didn't want a hat that looked new and perfect. The fit is great. My head shape is more oval, so I used a home made shaper to elongate the hat for my head, but it's a great fit. It arrived well packaged and protected and the shape of the brim is just as expected. It appears to be very high quality materials and well made. There are no issues with the stitching...Shipping was fast. It's perfect for what I have planned!!!

The hat looks the part. I can't deny it. But it's actually the strangest hat I have ever owned. I wore it outside in the sun for an hour and it melted. Haha, it literally collapsed like it was made of chocolate and became 2 sizes bigger.Also, there are no ventilation holes in it and so your head will sweat and when it does the sweat it travels through the leather and shows up on the outside as a huge white salt mark.I can only imagine the leather has not been treated properly.Also, the hat band has been glued on off centre, which is really annoying and the glue looks like it was slapped on by a bored child.This is certainly not a quality product. But at least I got a refund. That's the only good thing to say about it.

Surprisingly for this price, a very high quality supple and soft leather hat. The leather straps are also done nicely, and look removable without having holes in the brim which is a bonus. Wire (under the leather) in the brim makes it shapeable and resilient.The metal studs in the band around the head have quite sharp edges so one to look out for if nudging the headband around. They could scratch the leather brim. Get a soft/fabric tape measure and wrap it around your head. That measurement should be the hat size you buy (unless you like a looser fit) - this one is true to size.

I bought this hat to give me shelter when I'm out walking. I've had a similar one for years and it was time for a new one. Sun or rain, it gives good cover.It is proper, great quality leather and, as I expected, has the occasional natural blemish. I used Leather Genie to treat it when it first arrived and what a difference it made to its appearance. Beautiful.On arrival it felt sturdy. First impressions were that it felt hard and not quite the right shape for my head but its natural leather so I wore it around the house for a few hours and it began to soften and adjusted to me. Now it feels like it was made for me. So glad I trusted the quality of this product and gave it time to fit.Mine came with a chin strap. Handy at first to keep the hat on when the wind blows. The longer I wear this hat, the better it fits. It has taken a few false starts from different suppliers to find a hat this good so I'm sorely tempted to buy another Walker and Hawkes as a spare.

I love the hat itself. However its very off centre. If you look at the pics you will see what I mean. I cant be bothered to send it back as we are about to go into lockdown. But if this kind of thing bothers you then be careful.

Great product It arrived on Wednesday, never leave home without it. Great to keep the rain off and keeps your head warm
