Works Well but NO Encryption and Strangers can Speak Directly to your Kids
These work really well and we're easy to use. We got one good day of use out of them before we realized that the long range and lack of encryption meant my kids were exposed to complete strangers. Not one of the frequencies in our area were safe and I could never be completely sure. We live in a medium sized college town near shopping and several stations were just static or business chatter. Then my son revealed that someone was trying to to talk to him whose voice he didn't recognize. Changing the channel did not help. I decided enough was enough the day someone asked for my son's name. He was smart and told me he didn't answer because he didn't know who they were. My suggestion would be older kids in rural areas with strict usage of codenames for security. Even then, I personally won't be buying anything for my kids again without decent encryption. Adult usage is more than fine because we can ignore that and safely move our channel each time strangers continue to talk to us, but it is important to know that people can still be listening in even if you never hear them speak. Privacy nightmare. Buyer Beware.

Quality Product, Useable Even for Kids <5
I rarely leave 5 Stars across the board but this is a very good product. We opted for the rechargeable set, and they did come with rechargeable batteries and a charger that allows all three to be charged on one cable (the manufacturer may want to review their FAQ section). They are simple enough for children under 5 to use and provide a lock feature on the channel settings, and everything seems very durable down to the caps that go over the headset/charger inputs. I can't say enough about the quality: it's hard to find products were no small corners are cut that are still at a great price point, but this set provides just that. They are extremely easy to use, the sound quality is great, and the power saving feature allows them to stay on for a long time without a charge. Though they work out of the box, they also offer a lot of configuration settings that will be a learning opportunity for kids: channels, DCS/CTCSS codes, Vox sensitivy, and a variety of tones. We plan on using them for camping and hiking, but we are already getting a lot of use just around the house.

Great walkie talkies for kids and adults
I got a set of these for my kids for Christmas and they absolutely loved them. The audio quality is very good and they have decent range. They are able to hear each other anywhere on our property and neighbor's property perfectly clearly. The buttons and features are a little hard to figure out but after reading quickly through the manual, it's easy to use. I really like that they are rechargeable, buying and throwing away batteries for devices like this drive me nuts but not only are these rechargeable, they come with a charger that lets you charge all three of them with one plug. It makes it harder for my kids to fight over who's charger's who's. The only thing I'd change on these is I wish they had a volume knob instead of buttons. It's hard to set the volume low enough for "stealth missions", but it doesn't bother me enough to take away a star. Overall, I really like these and plan to buy a set for my wife and I.

Battery indication and charging issues ruin an otherwise competent product.
Pros: Perfectly functional and competent walkie talkies. The form and design are well done so they are bright but make our kid feel proud to use. The usage is relatively easy especially for small kids. Cons: The biggest issue is that the battery indication is completely screwed up. It beeps when the battery is low but the indicator on the screen may not always show low battery. When I connect it for charging, the manual says the indicator will flash until the battery is charged but it doesn’t do that. It just goes to full battery and stays there. We got this a few days ago and have had to charge almost every night, which means the battery also doesn’t last very much. Another irritant was making a decision for which of the WisHouse models to buy. The model names are hard to tell apart, they make combo packs that see random, and worst of all, some research online revealed that most of the model differences are non existent. There are some minor secondary features in some models that are different (like the SOS) but that’s about it. The actual radio is exactly the same, and they just put it in different plastic bodies. Overall, my kid has fun with this, but I don’t expect this to remain a favorite for too long given the battery issues.
