Great Value
At first they looked smaller than I expected, but they work great. Retains a lot of water. I chose to germinate lettuces in a block of cubes, then plan to rip the cubes apart later. Otherwise the lettuce seeds tend to fall between the individual blocks if you rip them apart first.

My Preference.
These rockwool cubes are a good quality for the price. it has a decent water retention and works well to germinate seeds. You do have to be careful separating them as I have split a few in half, but when I smushed it back together and put it in the hydroponic pod they still worked as it should. I start mine hydroponically and then I transition them to my garden where I leave the rockwool on and I haven't had an issue. Easy to use and I recommend these.

Itty bitty
Tiny. Be warned. One complaint is they tear apart easily. My own fault ordering them.

Great seed starter
These Rockwood cubes work great they fulfill their purposes very well. I just poured my chili seeds on top of the whole cube because it was too difficult to put them in each hole. They sprouted tremendously and worked great under inside lighting, but grew phenomenally outside.

Caused more problems and lost over half my seeds twice
Don't waist money This caused more problems with PH and the damping off of over half of my seed after they pooped Waisting 2 weeks trying to bring them back. This is my second time using rockwool and it makes so much sense why I've had the problems I have sense I switched to these NEVER AGAIN!

Perfect for growing lettuce hydroponically
These little rockwool cubes work perfectly for growing lettuce or other greens in a hydroponic setup. My "deep water culture" indoor setup uses two bussing tubs with nine 1 1/4" holes drilled into the cover of each tub. 18 small net pots are inserted into the holes and then the rockwool cubes with already-started lettuce seedlings are placed into the net pots. Add water and nutrients, plus an airstone in each tub pumping in oxygen for the roots, and you have a nice little garden producing fresh lettuce all year-round.

Junk. They disintegrate.
Complete junk. They literally disintegrate when trying to remove them from the sheet.
