The Aveeno Calm and Restore gentle face wash has really helped to clear my 60+ year old sensitive skin of breakouts. It doesn't lather, isn't oily, but is a soft gel cream that soothes irritated skin. After washing my face I follow with the Calm/Restore serum and the moisturizer (which is fabulous). My skin looks clean, clear, smooth and hydrated. It feels comfortable and soft. Breakouts are kept at bay if used consistently. I hope Aveeno never discontinues this product!

So. I've been using this product for a bit now. I was having skin barrier problems pretty bad especially after the fall/winter. Super damaged, red, itchy, acne, some dryness and all. I was a mess and super depressed over how me and my skin were looking. I was using a foam facewash since my skin is normally very oil but also very sensitive to many products. I can't use most skincare products because of this. Never had issues with products I normally used for years till I figured out months later it was my skin barrier. Switching to a gel facewash was the best decision I've made and im going to keep on doing it. My skin has started to clear up, its more hydrated looking and not as oily throughout the day too. I also have rosacea and has helped my redness and bit of itchiness I sometimes get as well. I have super sensitive skin as well and had no bad reaction towards this product. I really never thought of using a gel face wash since I thought it would make my skin oilier, but it actually did the opposite at least for me. For me it took around a week for my skin to start looking 10x better and I was super surprised since very soon my BF is coming down to visit for the week. I will definitely keep on using this facewash well after my skin barrier is healed. It also works very well for the body and makes my skin super soft and hydrated!! Things I also did + Tips that are helping me heal my skin barrier: I'm also using the First Aid Beauty Hydrating dewy gel cream as well that has Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides which also helps on healing a damaged skin barrier. I just putting on damp clean skin after im done washing my face. Hyaluronic Acid works best applied to wet clean skin. Also make sure to wash your face with luke warm water and not hot along with being very gentle so no hard water from the shower if your sensitive like me with your skin type. Make sure to keep skincare simple as well to if you're healing your skin barrier only a gentle facewash and moisturizer with ceramides + if you can HA in it as well. Foam face washes don't work well healing the skin barrier since they just dry out the skin and take away all the natural oils your skin needs to heal. I did also for one night did slugging to lock in the moisture on my face using 100% pure petroleum jelly. Its were you wash your face, apply moisturizer then after a bit applying a thin layer of Vaseline to the face to lock in the moisturizer so that your skin starts healing. (I only did this for one night then washed it off the next day. It helped me a lot but its defiantly not for everyone so take caution and do research before trying it on your skin) Note: Make sure to always patch test a product. Not everything is made for everyone's skin mattering on your skin type.

I've used this item for years. It smells fresh and light, very gentle on my skin, my skin feels hydrated after use, no lather to speak of. You don't need to use much, one pump if enough, rinses clean very well. I really like this refill pouch, easy to refill bottle. Great value.

Its a pretty good cleanser considering its cheap. Its a gel cleanser and feels very cool on the skin when using it. Theres no foam and it made my skin feel less irritated when using it. However, it felt as if my skin wasnt being cleaned and it was doing nothing. It doesnt help much with easing breakouts and stuff on my T-zone. Could be better but its overall a good product.

Absolutely the best product I've found for my rosacea. Soothing and gentle with no irritation and doesn't aggravate the redness. Literally the only cleanser my skin can tolerate, and I've tried everything under the sun!

This product would be great if it didnt break me out. Also, it leaves my face feeling fresh and soft. Ive gotten occasional pimples but since I started using this I’ve noticed I’ve gotten more and more. It does keep my skin soft so that is a plus. It’s a pretty thin consistency, super easy to apply. It has no smell as well.

I have been using this for a week. Other gentle facial cleansers (Vanicream, Cetaphil) were not gentle enough. They left my rosacea prone skin feeling tight and irritated. I was getting to a point where I washed my face as little as possible. This is the first cleanser that feels soothing and moisturizing to my skin. I don’t feel like I immediately need to slather my skin with moisturizer to try to calm it after washing.

My skin was sensitive after using the faceshop bright facewash so I decided to buy something soothing to use alternatively. And this worked really well. It's creamy with no foam, no fragrance and leaves the face baby soft and non oily. I don't use it to remove dirt, just in the morning for quick fresh up.

Amazing gentle cleanser. However it doesn't remove mascara. You need to double cleanse.
