The only book you need to have a strong foundation of the polish language
This book really gives a strong foundation to the polish language. I love that this book also has short stories and polish phrases which not only give context to the words learned, but also helps to really understand the language and not just remember some random words. I highly recommend.

Muy útil antes y Durante el aprendizaje.
Un gran método para aprender Polaco. Directo, sin rodeos y con ejemplos. Se hace fácil para seguir como guía. Para mi ha sido y es muy útil. Muy contento de tenerlo.

Not what I expected
This is 3 older (possibly out-of-print) books combined into 1. I ordered this because I thought that at least 1 of the 3 would have a chapter on Polish pronunciation. Nope. Not one. No explanation of how to pronounce Polish consonant clusters, vowels, anything. Just exercise after exercise of the “read this out loud and translate” variety. I gave 3 stars because it’s structured logically and would probably have been good textbook circa 1982 in a class taught by a heritage speaker. The typeface doesn’t even use the Polish letters, like the “L” with a line through it. Apparently if I want to learn how to pronounce Polish, I need to go to Youtube or invest in another book on learning Polish that begins with the alphabet and phonetics.

Just another resource
It adds some needed explanations, but far from comprehensive.

Great set of books for beginners
Great set of books for beginners. The author makes sure to make it easy enough to follow and to learn if you aren't fortunate enough to have a teacher.

helpful but you will need an audio supplement.
It's a good written aide but you will definately need an audio supplement to learn the letter and word sounds. as a stand alone guide it is not enough.

Total disappointment
After looking through the book It seems this book is made by non-professionals.It is supposed to be for beginners, and has a "new" approach to learn. but it doesn't discuss at all pronunciation of the polish language. In the part of phrases there's a lot that are out of date or not necessary. In the part of short stories there are mistakes. I showed it to a polish native speaker who saw the flows in the book.

A unique/tailored approach to teaching Polish
I am interested in learning Polish, simply for interest sake (I'm 1/4 Polish). I was taking live classes, but those were closed from a lack of students, so I have turned to books/recordings. I have the basics down, you could say; I can read/pronounce Polish, albeit slowly.Language books often follow a script/formula to teach - they are not fot to the nuances of the language being taught. This book is different - it is specifically for Polish, and highlights the nuances of Polish for an English speaking reader. It is written like a conversation with a teacher to a student, exploring Polish.I may have missed it, but I do not see any links in the book to recordings though. I wish the book had an audio component, as that really does help bolster the learning. That would give this book 5 stars. The student will need to supplement with audio products to hear Polish being spoken.

Perfect for.my needs
I have been learning polish using content online. The style that teaches you by seeing a situation to learn words and phrases. This has been very good for me. I started to fond that i was struggling with sentence structure. This book has been a huge help! I knew the verbs and nouns changed but i had no explanation as to why. This book has been fantastic for me to understand what is required and the reasons for it. The snippets of cultural information are also very interesting, useful and explained well.

Poor quality. Buy a better book.
This is 3 books in one, NOT a single coherent textbook. There's a lot of overlap between the three sections, and the order in which things are taught makes no sense: for some reason the alphabet is only taught on page 322, the numbers are taught on pages 26 and again on page 326, same goes for the pronouns and the basic verbs, and more. If you thought you were buying 400+ pages worth of education you're in for a bad surprise. To make things worse, every single ą ć ę ł ń ś ż ź is printed with a fallback font that looks awful, which makes everything really hard to read.

Amazing Value
I tried learning Polish on duo lingo for months, I did learn a lot but mostly material I might never use. This book tackles the very foundations of the language all the way up to a basic and decent conversation. Highly recommended

Could be great but lacking pronunciation guide
This is a comprehensive guide to learning Polish save for one very important thing - pronunciation. If I am mistaken with this and there is a hidden section which shows you how to pronounce words in Polish then I take all this back and give the book 5 stars. However, from what I have seen of the book so far, there is not and this is crucial if you want to speak a language properly. It even says 'Make sure you get the pronunciation right' but there is no guidance on how to pronounce the words whatsoever and as Polish is a non-phonetic language this could not be more vital to successfully learning it.
