Very comfortable for wide feet
Targhees are the only boot for me because I have wide flat feet and these come in a wide fitting. They're comfortable out of the box and need no breaking in (I take the insoles out and use custom orthotics because of my flat feet and knee problems). They're lightweight as well which is nice but still have good hiking boot soles to cope with rough stony paths and the ankle support is good without being oppressive so you can drive a car in them without discomfort. The lacing system works very well, nowadays I simply use the lacing pattern that they come with but, in the past I've changed it with success. They only have two speedgrips but you don't need more - once they're laced on they stay laced and there is no aggravation with the laces coming undone as the speedgrips take the tension off the knot. They're grippy on wet grass and mud (I live in Nofolk so it's all zoil and grass) and even better on stony stuff when I go on holiday. My last two pairs have been very good for waterproofing, before that the waterproofing gave up before the boot did and the Targhee 3 seems generally more durable than the previous Targhee 2, in particular the rand now protects the boot from splitting. The only thing is that I need a new pair after 9 months as they simply wear out - the soles wear down so that slipping on wet grass starts to become an issue and the uppers start to fail around the rand. However the Thing is that I wear these every day for three dog walks seven days a week right through the year (yes they get a bit sweaty in high Summer but they breathe pretty well). As I clock around 4 miles per day that's around 1,100 miles so I don't mind having to replace them. If you just used them at the weekend and on holiday they'd last you years.

Sturdy, comfortable boots
I have been wearing hiking boots throughout the year since ~20 years now and in most cases, I'm OK if a pair last me 1 year. I have gone through many brands and some have been more comfortable then others. I use the boots every day throughout the year mostly office, city walking, cycling but also on short a few hours hikes. With minimal maintenance, the outer shell is still in reasonable condition. The sole lasted well so far 1y 3months and onwards. They are fairly waterproof considering rain when cycling and crossing shallow streams. They are also a very good fit for wider feet.

Seriously flawed/potentially dangerous
Would love to leave a 5 start review as they are comfortable almost out of the box, but these boots are seriously and potentially dangerously flawed. Let's start with the sizing... The wide fit are identical to the standard fit. The most important part.... After less than 100km the soles start to delaminate, the grey softer rubber separates from the boot. This leaves an uneven tread that is only 2mm deep in places and 4mm+ in others. There's no rips, tears or scuffs, the rubber just hasn't bonded correctly. I've asked Keen for an honest response if this is a known issue and they said it wasn't. Bought a second pair and these fell apart within 80km and the response... Oh, must be a manufacturing error. Look at the reviews on Trust pilot and see how bad they have become as a company.

Comfortable but NOT Waterproof
They seem very well made. The Toe is wide fitting and they feel comfortable under foot. Well padded around the ankle. Don't know where the water is getting in but they are definitely not waterproof especially on wet grass or walking in the rain.

Wide fit ! and good quality.
I bought these to replace my previous identical ones which I'd wrecked by lack of care (drying on radiators mainly.) My chiropodist had recommended KEEN because he said they were probably the widest fitting ones. So I bought another size 9. However, I had meanwhile developed bunions and tailors bunions, so I exchanged the 'size 9' for a 'size 9 Wide.' This' size 9 Wide' seems perfect for me. Normal shoe shops (eg GO OUTDOORS, where I'd bought my previous ones from) don't do the 'Wide' sizings but I got these here in the 'Wide' and almost half price, and great service too. My guess is that most shoe shops find the normal sizings to be wide enough already without catering for the odd customer like me with my bunions etc. These are excellent walking boots, supple, comfy, waterproof.

So far…. So so far. So good
I wore these straight out of the box, and went on a 22 mile hike. Up and down peaks, through mud, scrambling up and down large rocks and gritstone edges, and through a bog by accident The boots have kept my feet dry, and comfortable, with no leakage, great grip, and they are light enough that I haven’t noticed the weight. I haven’t really thought about them all day except to pray they are as waterproof as they state. In the bog, they were, although 24 hours later, they still look to be slightly wet. The one thing I do notice about Keen Targhee III (i have the shoe version as well), is that small stones can get stuck in the sole near the ball of the foot when the shoes bends as you step forward.

Not Very Waterproof
Let's start with the good points. Wide fitting, which is what I require, lightweight and very comfortable. I feel that I could walk all day, every day with these boots. Now the bad points. They are not, by any stretch of the imagination, waterproof. I can walk through shallow water and boggy ground with no problems, but as soon as water runs on to the tops of the boots my feet get wet. Very recently I completed a walk where the grass was wet, it overhung the footpath, and so it had to be walked through and my feet were absolutely soaked within half an hour. The same thing happens when I wear waterproof leggings and the rain runs off them and on to the tops of the boots. Soaking wet feet again. I really cannot recommend them.

Superb boots for Nordic walking
Bought these boots to replace my old boots I use for Nordic walking the comfort and quality of the boots was noticeably size and fit was perfect for my feet and this has been proven over the last few months of wearing them. Waterproof is excellent no problems have arisen while wearing them. Sole grip has been positive and after an exercise session my feet feel like they haven’t been anywhere which is proof of a good pair of boots in my estimation. One more thing to note is the in the summer they also keep your feet cool as well. Great value for money and when the time comes to replace I would definitely buy again if there still available.

Purchased for recreation, Used for work
I started wearing these at work to break them in a little and it really wasn't necessary much at all! They're real comfortable from the start and fit perfectly after the first week. No soreness from being on my feet all day as a rookie tradesman; at least none because of bad shoe quality. The only con using this for work is that it isn't steeltoed or steelsoled. I did have a screw penetrate through the bottom of one shoe, and thankfully no fleshwound. I guess I'll only be pending waterproof review for the left shoe, now. Haha

Best shoes you’ll ever have.….
I go through shoes like toilet paper. Live in the mountain with very rough ground. Walk miles a day. These shoes fit like you put your foot in a mold. I’m used to climbing muddy grass hills while slipping and sliding like I’m on ice skates wearing new Rocky’s but these shoes would climb an ice hill. Litterally stood in a dozen truck bed on a hill and felt as sturdy as baseball cleats on flat ground. You want good shoes go keen. Update. They have started to come apart and I haven’t even had the chance to be rough with them. It’s been about 3 months now. Very disappointed as they still fit and feel wonderful

Great boots, lasted 10 months.
These boots got used very lightly during the week, and extra heavy during most weekends for long hikes through Florida trails in sand, dirt, and mud. Good ankle support for versatile terrain, tread was never an issue, never slipped on wet rocks but I also didn’t test it often. Size I usually buy fit very well, 12w. A bit firm at first, but will break in. The pair lasted the 10 months with minimal care in cleaning (occasional brushing sand/dirt, keeping dry) Eventually the material started peeling and now the waterproofing’s compromised. Because of the waterproofing they run a little warm, but it’s worth the trade off on days after the rain not to have soaking wet feet.

Comfortable
With its wide size, this make me comfortable in using it.
