Do these shoes perform well walking in water on slippery rocks?

I've had these for a month or so and they feel great. Just last weekend I went rafting and had a chance to check them out in water. They performed admirably. Good traction on rocks in the water and they drained well. I'm in a dry climate but they dried fast and don't look like they've ever been wet. I'd buy them again.

Is this shoe's size bigger or smaller than original?

All my shoes are 10.5's but these ran a bit too large. Ordered size 10

Are you suppose to wear socks with these shoes when you are going in and out of the water or does that feel uncomfortable.. ?

I prefer to wear those ankle socks with mine. The open weave texture of the fabric dries quickly but some sand and grit do come through as I get in/out of the canoe. The ankle socks soften the impact of having some sand in my shoe and keeps up the comfort level. Otherwise, no.

These are advertised as a water shoe, but how well do these work as a regular hiking shoe on (dry) dirt trails/rocks/etc.? Any experience with this?

They have excellent traction which made them work well for me and various types of rugged terrain. They are also comfortable to me. They have a mesh panel on top which allows them to dry quickly. This helps to keep your feet cool as well. We hit some snow on our last hike and they of course let the snow in through the mesh. I would think sand could get in as well if it was a really sandy trail. They were great for me all over New Zealand and have worked well in Southern Utah as well. They don't have a lot of cushion to the sole, but are very comfortable and cushioned at the ankle. Hope that helps.
