Kolbs Bed Wedge Pillow for Sleep Apnea, FSA Eligible Acid Reflux, and Back Pain Relief, with Chic Jacquard Cover - Headboard Wedges for Sleeping (Extra Wide 12" Height)

If you need a LONG wedge pillow, this is great. At 33", it is quite long. It might be too long for some people. I am 6'3", so it works well. The 12" high pillow is pretty tall, but it is very comfortable with a nice memory foam for support. I ordered an extra wide pillow (31") which gave great support for my arms/elbows - and I am wide across the chest. I did have some back discomfort, but I have a bulged disc, so someone with a healthy back might not have any issues. To be honest, I only used this tall and wide pillow a few nights. I was having too much back pain. I will order the 5 1/2 inch tall version, and still the extra wide one, and supplement that with a few pillows and see how that does for my back. I think it will be perfect. But if you need a tall wedge, these very well made pillows might be just what you are need.

I recently had surgery for Esophageal Cancer. For the rest of my life I will need to sleep with my upper body inclined to at least 30 degrees. At home we bought a split king bed, with adjustable bases. I bought the extra wide 12" version of this pillow for traveling and staying in hotels and in our RV. I had already tried the standard 7.5" version last year to help with sleep apnea. I found it too short, no support for my lower back, and I kept sliding down during the night, so I only used it for a few nights. Please note that the standard size is 24" long, so at 12" high it is 30 degrees. The extra wide is about 32 inches long, so to get the 30 degrees it would need to be 16" high. However, the extra length is more comfortable because the transition from the pillow to the bed mattress is right at my hips and my back is supported. I can probably correct the height difference in occasional hotel stays with a few extra pillows. In the RV I had made a ramp under the mattress that raised our heads about 5 inches to help with sleep apnea, so with this wedge pillow on top of the mattress I should be back to about my 30 degrees ordered by the doctors.

I have bought so many products on Amazon. This pillow is by far is my best purchase on Amazon ever!! I’ve been in so much pain waiting for rotator cuff surgery. Just received my pillow yesterday and last night was one of the best night of sleeping that I can remember in three months! This pillow is so comfortable , the quality is top-notch! This is also the first time that I have ever sought out the review section so I can tell everybody this pillow is so worth every penny !!I am so happy! Thank you to the manufacturer and seller!!! This wedge is extremely comfortable and very well designed. The extra-wide width is fantastic — I toss and turn, and I never once felt like I was going to roll off the edge. The foam has a great balance of support and softness, and overall it feels like a high-quality product. That said, I ordered the 12-inch high extra-wide version, and for me personally, the height was just too much. I have a very sensitive neck, and despite how comfortable the wedge itself is, I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep with this level of incline. I also found myself slowly sliding down during the night and had to put a pillow under my hips to stay positioned. I originally purchased this to help with CPAP-related air swallowing issues, but unfortunately the steep incline didn’t work well for my body. If someone has GERD, reflux, or needs a significant elevation and doesn’t have neck sensitivity, I think this would be excellent — the comfort level is absolutely there. For me, it just wasn’t the right fit, but I do want to emphasize that this is a comfort and height issue, not a quality issue. If the incline had worked for my neck, I would have happily kept it.

I have slept on a wedge pillow for years due to GERD and bought the 12 inch this time (from 7’). My other pillow was getting old and worn out so it was time for something new. I researched many pillows and selected this particular option and brand. I am loving it!! So comfy and I love the larger size. I ordered it before reading all the reviews. I only looked at the positives, then started to read the negatives while I was waiting for it to deliver and started to get concerned. I decided to evaluate it when it arrived before deciding if I should return it. The box came partially damaged, but the shrink-wrapped pillow looked new and unharmed during shipping. There were NO ODORS while opening the wrap like some people reported. I allowed it to inflate as instructed. It says to allow it to sit for 24-48 hours. It was fully inflated at 24 hours, so I used it the first night. It is firm, but also cushy. It is very durable and looks and feels well made. I have never spent $95 on a pillow before, but am glad I did. I am feeling confident this pillow will last but will update this review if I have problems with normal use or if something changes. Some people reported they didn’t like needing a second pillow for their head and neck. I have always had to sleep with an extra pillow for neck support while using a wedge. This is expected due to the space void the wedge naturally creates. I personally use a neck tube pillow and have never had any problems. I also use a towel to cover the pillow and sleep on top of that so that I do not need to remove the pillowcase. I learned with my last wedge that they are a pain to take on and off, and the fabric easily snags in the washing machine. Using a towel makes protection and cleaning much easier and does not compromise comfort. The attached photos are of the bottom side. I forgot to flip it over while taking photos. The top of the pillow is a while color (pillow cover). I hope this review helps others considering this product.

I ordered the extra wide, but sadly this also meant it’s 9 inches longer, which is ridiculous. Not sure why they just didn’t make it wider. The increased length means my head does not get the elevation I want, since it now only goes about 2/3 of the way up.

Amazing it really help us a lot my grand mother she is 93 years , was able to seep well without coughing all night also it helped her with a back pain , the material is firm and soft gives you the perfect support is a Great product and works incredible well , the size is perfect for a Twin bed , also you can use it in any bed size, i took the time to write this review in order to help any one that is taking care of a senior person , i really recommend it

This is a very well-made product. Unfortunatly, as other reviewers have said, if you want to use it for sleeping it is almost impossible to stay on it. I thought the 12" elevation was what would be needed for back injury and vertigo (together!!). At first, it was quite comfortable to lie back on. But as the night went on, I kept slipping down and woke up multiple times to scoot back up on the thing. It is impossible to return because it expands enormously when taken out of the wrapper. So, to me, it was a lot of money wasted, and it looks ridiculous up against my wall for sitting. I have no room to put it anywhere else. But it is a sturdy, supportive, comfortable wedge if you are not planning on sleeping on it.
