Amazing. The device can read from even a small drop of blood. And it always reads, accurately. I have not had a test strip yet that didn’t work from Roche. I bought a cheaper testing kit ($20), and had to return it as it didn’t work. It is worth paying the additional $70 and knowing that you have a good reliable Swiss product.

You get what you pay for. I bought one of those $29 meters and it broke after a few uses. So I went for the Accucheck which is a well-known and respected brand. Cost $90 but what a difference in quality! My Accucheck is easy to use and super fast! Takes a tiny bit of blood, and comes with controls so you can check the accuracy of the meter and stix. The lancet device is brilliant - load a little drum which has 6 lancets in it and you never have to worry about dealing with any sharp points. It's also almost painless - the lancets are really thin so you don't have sore fingers. I didn't bother with the phone app as I prefer to just write my BS down, so I can't review that part. Also comes with a case that holds the lancet device, meter and box of test strips. I had trouble opening the case at first but figured it out - would be nice if it was mentioned in the instructions - but overall I am really happy with my purchase. Also from what I could figure out, everything was made in Switzerland - no China junk here!!!!

Works good, but fairly tricky to use. Not as simple as the old one.

I'm not diabetic and not on a keto diet, but I've learned that keeping my blood glucose from spiking is key to keeping my weight steady. This monitor has helped me to understand what spikes my blood sugar and what keeps it within a fairly steady range. You can buy more testing strips for this monitor, which is important because with the brand I had before, I was unable to find any when I ran out.

I’m somewhat disappointed in the set as a newly diagnosed diabetic who is learning to use these tools. Each of the products is absolutely fine. However, the instructions that come with the product are for a different lancet device (soft clix). Consequently, in trying to figure this device out and inserting and removing the lancet drum to ensure it was seated correctly, the entire drum is rendered useless without even being used/clicked and cannot be reinserted - I ended up wasting 3 drums (so 18 lancets). Perhaps this information is on the accurate instructions for this device, but those were not included. This may not be a problem for a knowledgeable diabetic, but anyone that is new to this needs to know. Had they just put an insertion to direct you online or to let you know the instructions were for a different lancet than the one included, it would have been a much better experience.
