Arrived promptly, very well packaged, the box itself was lovely and the mug, lid and spoon were all very pretty and good quality. Bought as a present and the birthday girl was very happy.

I was given the pink marble mug that carries the line, “Good friends are like stars,” picked out in gold, and it looks as cheerful on my desk as it did in the photographs. The 14-ounce capacity feels about right for a generous cuppa, and the mug has a reassuring bit of heft. The pink-and-white swirl appears more hand-painted than printed, so each piece feels slightly individual. On the practical side, the ceramic is sold as lead-free, and it has survived several dishwasher runs with no chips or cracks. I have also zapped a half-cold brew in the microwave for thirty seconds, and nothing complained. Presentation is cleverly done too. The mug, spoon and lid arrive cradled in a silk-lined box with a blank gift card tucked inside, so there is no need to hunt for wrapping paper. There are a few niggles, though. The spoon is tiny, closer to espresso scale than tea size, and the wooden lid merely rests on the rim rather than locking, so I would not carry the mug around with liquid inside. The handle is snug if you have larger hands, and I suspect the gold lettering will dull if the mug lives in the dishwasher every single day. Overall, it is a thoughtful present that looks pretty on a shelf and feels pleasant in the hand, just be prepared to baby the finish and provide a proper teaspoon.
