No it can use the receiver or bluetooth so as long as your pc has bluetooth you're good

Q: will this work on nintendo switch also?

Switch is a little behind on the Chat market, so if you dont see an Astros platform that SPECIFICALLY states Switch compatability, Its a no go. Also, the Playstation platform covers PC AND Mac,stated by Astros in the item description!
