Works perfectly
I have had multiple thermometers in my 60 years of cooking. I have tried the wireless, app driven ones. I find the apps attached to them a primary detriment (notably staying connected). The one thing I do like is that many of the apps predict the time to the set temperature. I had a wired version that provided this particular predictive timing function. It died after a couple of years of service. I wanted another, but they are hard to find, even on Amazon. My second one died. Now I cannot find this type of predictive wired probe thermometer. Back to a wireless probe with an app? Oh well. And “no”. I ended up getting this ThermoPro wired version. It is simple. No predictive function. Still, I like it. It does exactly what it is supposed to, provide an accurate temperature inside an item while it cooks. I used it on New Years Eve with a roast. The roast came out exactly as I wanted it – medium rare. The price is great. The durability seems standard. The display is easy to read. Operation is easy to understand. (Be sure to unwrap the battery!). The probe wire is long enough so the main display can sit on the counter next to the oven (or grill). Recommended!

Great value
Great product for the money. I’ve had it 7-8 months now and it’s worked flawlessly. Very simple to use, has a built in stand as well as a magnet on the back.

Great first impressions!
UPDATE: After this review. Well, I like it but I'm not in love with it. I still want a more expensive one; however, it works. 1) Calibrate it before using it. Mine is about four degrees off. I found instructions for calibrating on the Internet. I used boiling water and crushed ice water. Because I didn't do this until after I cooked - I pulled the food too early. I should've trusted my experience -- I could tell it was too early just by looking at it. 2) TOUGH cookie. It's gotta be well made because I made a big goof. I packed to cook at someone else's house and in haste forgot that I had stored this thermometer in the bottom of a roasting pan, below the rack. Rack and turkey went into a 450 F oven. Soon, maybe less than 3 minutes, I heard "beep beep beep", and to my horror I remembered it was my new thermometer IN the oven. We rushed to pull it out and the face of the thermometer was seriously blackened about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. I went on and forgot about it. 2 days later, I unpacked and found it. The screen was no longer black. I recalibrated it and it appears to be working just fine. WORKING! I'll retest on next cook but I am so surprised and glad I did not throw it away. 3) I did have to change out the batteries after one use. Not surprised that the battery that comes with it didn't last long. I've used four times since and even forgot and left it on for hours, still going on the second battery. 4) The cable that attaches to the the probe is thin and kinks easily. So, it's a bit awkward and feels delicate. Overall, I would buy it again... especially for the price. =======Original review======= I will update as I use this temperature probe more; for now, here are my first impressions. Excellent packaging. Pristine. Very well done for a product out of China, one I suspect is private labeled. So often, packaging is not first quality and the English instructions reveal the poor attention to details, and in general the product presents as CHEAP. Not this product. It's gift quality! I should say, when there ARE instructions at all - this one HAS instructions done just right. I am happy that a starter AAA battery was included. Didn't really expect that these days. I have wanted one of these ever since I saw Alton Brown use one on his show years ago but I wouldn't pay the $$$. This price enticed me to try it. And I did try it out .... right away. It's simple to use, not overly complicated with options. Switches on the back allow you to choose Fahrenheit or Celsius, and between Off, Timer, or Temperature Probe. Buttons on the top control settings for timer hours and minutes (no seconds), and setting the goal temperature. There are preset options for food such as poultry, but those settings are way off anything I'm accustomed to using. (180F for poultry? That's a dry bird in the end.) The display panel is big, easy to see, and shows both the current temperature and the goal cooking temperature. Love that I can judge how far I've got to go to serve. The alarm that goes off when the temperature is reached is not very loud. That's my only criticism. I don't think I would hear it over music or washing dishes. I'll have to pay attention and check on it. But that's really OK by me. Out of the box, I started probing everything. My coffee (113F), my water(70F), my hot water tap (133F!!), and the temperature of the brine water for the turkeys(45F)!!! (I added more ice to the brine immediately. No worries, folks.) I am happily surprised to see the temperature range go that low. (The high is 700F.) The probe reacted quickly with hardly a delay as I checked different food items. I'll be cooking a lot this week - two turkeys, fudge, candy(see PS below!!)...etc I'll come back and let y'all know how it does. P.S. When I cook candies I won't be relying on this alone as it is NOT designed to be submerged in liquids. I don't want to risk damaging the probe or cable. But I will be using it to double check my hard-to-read candy thermometer. I'll just hand hold this new temperature probe, pop it in and pop it out. It's all good.

Great tool for the kitchen!
A very practical and helpful tool for the kitchen! Oftentimes while following menus (and directions), they may refer to cooking the food at a specific temperature and it makes sense to have this tool available and to have the probe inserted into the food so that we can monitor it from the outside of our oven. It has a magnetic backing on it which allows me to simply place the display on the front of our oven. Thus far, it has proved to be an invaluable tool for us. PROS: Nice display, easy to clean, easy to use CONS: None noted at the time of this review

Very happy, rib roast is happy too
SO SO HAPPY with results!!! Bought an expensive rib roast and really needed an accurate temp thing that works IN the oven. Was skeptical but works amazingly, i set the expected temp a few degrees lower just in case it had a faulty alarm or something and it rung perfectly on time and moderately loud so i wouldnt miss it but also wouldn’t disturb neighbors lol. Looks great and no issues with anything at all! So easy to put together and put away, super cool timer function i have yet to try, and the display is great and the magnet works very well! 90% done with the roast rn, i had set it to go off at 117 degrees F and stayed in the roast while cooking for 3-4 hours. Excuse the ‘loosely foiled’ rib roast, just trying out what an online recipe says to do.

Good Quality
I bought this as a replacement to one I had for a decade. This was very reasonably priced and it got a work out on Thanksgiving. Worked great! I used the temperature setting to get my turkey to the correct temperature. Came out beautiful.

Top notch customer service
I am revising my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars due to excellent customer service from this company. We've had this thermometer for a couple of months and the probe wire was starting to fray. This is a common issue with meat thermometers, but I was surprised by how quickly it happened. I wrote a review of this product, stating that I would probably have to order a replacement probe soon. Earlier today, a representative from ThermoPro contacted me by telephone to let me know that they saw my review and that there is a one-year warranty on this product. They offered to send me a free replacement probe by mail right away. I have never had a company be so proactive with their customer service, and I was really blown away that they took the time to get in touch with me and rectify my complaint. I didn't have to call a toll-free number and sit on hold for an hour to obtain an RMA number, or fill out unduly long/annoying web forms, or take photos from 10 different angles. We previously had a very expensive All-Clad meat thermometer, and when the probe wire began to fray, we discovered that there was no option to purchase replacement parts in Canada, so we had to buy a whole new meat thermometer. One of the reasons I recently decided on the ThermoPro (besides a very reasonable price and good reviews) is because I saw that I could order inexpensive replacement probes from Amazon. However, it turns out that the company will replace them for free within a year. The thermometer itself works well and is easy to use. A very good product at a great price point. It would be nice to see the probe wire covered in a silicone sheath to prevent tangling (which is what led to the fraying).

Très bien
Fonctionne très bien. Simple d'utilisation. Nous l'avons essayé pour la cuisson du poulet et, c'était parfait. Bien cuit, pas sec. Je ne l'ai pas utilisé pour la cuisson du sucre mais ça devrait fonctionner. Je recommande.
