iO Series 7G Electric Toothbrush with 1 Replacement Brush Head, Black Onyx

I've been wanting to buy an electric toothbrush for years. Yeah it's expensive, yeah the heads are expensive (and no generic for the io model I've found), but it's an investment in your oral health. I've been searching for the last several weeks for the right buy. I decided that a toothbrush with a rotating motion instead of just vibrations would deliver the most cleaning power, so I looked at the oral-b line and wow there are a lot of models to choose from. I started with the lower series 3000, 4000, 5000, all the way to I believe the 8000. Then the genius series. I read the reviews, watched videos when available, and did my own analysis. This io series has the best and most informative reviews, including videos. It's not too loud. It's got a slick design. My teeth feel dentist-office clean, my gums feel stimulated, and this toothbrush definitely provides a polishing action. Oh and it says hello and smiles whenever you pick it up. Normal price at around 220, on sale for 150? Yeah I NEVER spend that much on oral health care in a year, maybe several! But I certainly have spent more money on dumber things. This is an investment. You get what you pay for.

I like everything about this electric toothbrush! Have such a clean feeling every time I use this toothbrush that I would never get or achieve by regular brushing. This toothbrush has ruined me and I could never go back to regular brushing. The Bluetooth and app shows you where to brush and how long to brush for. I started using the app just to see how accurate it was with brushing. It’s roughly 80% accurate when showing real time where you are brushing. The app defiantly showed me how to correctly brush and not to put too much pressure on your gums. I was VERY skeptical at first due to how expensive it was but it’s totally worth the investment!

Replace my years old SonicCare with this. WOW!!!! HUUUGE difference. Dead serious when I say my teeth have never felt so clean after just a couple of brushings with this. Very powerful yet comfortable to use. The Red/Blue/Green light to tell you if you are pressing on your teeth too Hard/Soft or Just Right is more visible than I thought it would be. Little charging stand takes no more space than just the toothbrush. Highly recommend!!!

The. Oral B tooth brush is pricey but so far an excellent item. The issue is, I had done a search for a for an Oral B toothbrush with a CHARGING Travel case. I had been led to believe that the series 7 came with charging travel case….and surprise, it did not. I finally called Oral B support about this issue and has told what I feared, that it did not come with what I thought I was purchasing. OK…I was directed to a web site where I could spend more money for an accessory that should have come with my purchase. So I decided to go ahead and spend another $25 for the charging travel case. Then surprise again! The case does not come with a cable to plug in into a power source! That little but necessary item will cost me another $25 plus shipping. So this little confusion/ miss direction will cost me an additional $60 plus. These companies intentionally make it difficult for you to find what you want and hide the facts and details about you are purchasing so they sell you more things in order to make your purchase work.

I have been using this electric toothbrush for one year now, and the results as verified by my dental hygienist are outstanding. When used properly it definitely prevents tartar buildup, and does a much better job cleaning than what you could ever do with a regular toothbrush. Low vibration, excellent cleaning. My only complaint is the replacement brushes are expensive.

I’ve used an oral B electric toothbrush for years and have had a great experience. However, I am so glad my old toothbrush died after 8 years and I was able to purchase this new one. Absolutely phenomenal toothbrush. I am amazed at how well it cleans my teeth compared to my old brush. Reviews are correct. It is like getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist. Highly recommend

I give this product a 9 out 10. It is very easy to use. It cleans my teeth and leaves that smooth clean feeling. I like the different options from daily cleaning to deep clean. The light on the device notifies me if I have too much or too little pressure. The one thing I don’t like is the tracking. There is room for improvement in this area.

Absolutely love it, as someone whose owned basically all the major toothbrushes (Sonicare, original Oral B Genius X, and this) I have to say this is far more along the lines of the Sonicare toothbrush with a much larger head. Genuinly love this thing, I wasn't a fan of the Oral B Genius X, it just felt cheap, and really reminded me of those $10 AA battery toothbrushes. Not the impression I was looking for in a $150 toothbrush. I loved my Sonicare, used it for about 5 years before the battery failed. I used my Genius X for about 2 years, while I grew to like it more I still wasn't a big fan. It worked but I genuinely felt it was a downgrade to my old Sonicare. The build quality just felt like cheap plastic, the cleaning action felt no better than the cheap brushes either. It was a big disappointment for me, but after 5 years with the Sonicare I was wondering what I was missing so I opted for the highest end model Oral B at the time. This thing is far more to my liking, it gives me the clean mouth feeling my Sonicare had, with a similar action all those years ago but more intense. This has really impressed me beyond what I expected. What hasn't impressed me is the customer support or lack there of. I wanted to register this product online for the added 2 year warranty, however I simply can't, the product registration page requires a "promo code" for registration, mandatory. Simply says its in the box, doesn't say where, doesn't say what it looks like, after 15 mins of looking for it I simply can't find it, nor would any of the random codes I found on the box work. Unironically searching "Oral B warranty promo code" doesn't provide anything useful, nor does the site have a "contact us" option. As for the product, absolutely love it, but the manufacturer, and their after sale support ...simply pathetic and unacceptable. If I can't get the 2 year warranty I'm not keeping the product, and its physically impossible to contact Oral B for support ... I've tried. As to why you need a promo code for warranty registration is beyond me, doesn't ask for product code, serial number, non of that but it demands a promo code ... Product 5 out of 5 Customer support 0 out of 5 End result 2.5 stars out of 5 ---------- Against my better judgment I decided to keep this thing because I really liked it, today is February 20th and the toothbrush is no longer holding a charge nor charging at all. Put it on the charger this morning, after a few hours I checked on it, 46% odd normally would be charged, so I set it back on the charger, came by an hour later 39% charge ... unplugged the charger and put it in a different plug in. Came back 30 mins later and 30% turned it on for a few seconds, turned it off 19% charge ... will not charge, will not hold a charge not even 4 months old ....

The brush itself is great! (So far) Nice, easy to use, way stronger than the battery one I had. But I’ve had some issues with the app,, like when connecting it, it shows my brush as being a white io9 instead of the blue io7, and sometimes it has issues with the date for brushing. (First date was marked down as 12/311999)

i loved the toothbrush. The head and handle are smooth so crud does not build up at connection point. The recharger is great for ease of keeping clean. Brushing works well on my teeth. Reasonably comfortable handle. But the toothbrush stopped connecting with my Iphone. Tried resinstalling the ap, rebooting my phone, tried communicating with customer served Very disappointed. The Ap was not great but I used it.on my phone. It tells me some teeth are clean when I have only brushed the exterior. At times sections will show as partially clean before I have touched them. No grasp as to why some sections do not show as white(clean) when i have brushed them thoroughly. Have not yet had the time to look at the Oral B website to see if something i missed but thought the ap would give better instructions if I am missing something

I like this toothbrush but there are a number of things preventing me from giving it a top rating, things that I really truly believe Braun must improve on. I tried a Philips Sonicare toothbrush and Philips has Oral-B beat in every way with the exception of the brushing motion itself (I’ve used Oral-B electric toothbrushes all my life and I'm way too used to the Oral-B circular motion now so switching to Philips was not really an option for me although I gave it my best shot). Philips build quality is superior to the Oral-B in every way. Extremely solid and extremely well designed. The Philips app blew the Oral-B app right out of the water, absolutely no comparison. Setup time was like night and day. I was brushing my teeth with my Sonicare in two minutes after the initial Philips Sonicare app setup. Having said that, I was just blown away when I scanned the QR code to begin setting up my new Oral-B iO Series 7 Electric toothbrush. Most of the time, it led to a “can’t establish a secure connection” error and the very few times it actually did work, the URL kept redirecting me to the Oral-B Canada website (since I live in Canada) and would not show me the setup page at all but instead, kept showing me the Oral-B Canada homepage (not very helpful). I gave up and figured it all out on my own because I could not find the setup page anywhere. No such setup on YouTube supplied by Oral-B. Needless to say, setting up the toothbrush was a challenge. The Oral-B app leaves a lot to be desired and Bluetooth kept connecting and disconnecting repeatedly during the initial stages of the setup and even for a little while afterward. When navigating my way around the app, I noticed numerous sections in the app (ie: Privacy) that point to URLs which again produce a “can’t establish a secure connection” errors. Web pages that could not be reached. The biggest thing that concerns me about my new Oral-B iO Series 7 Electric toothbrush, however, is how incredibly worn out the display is from having used it for barely three weeks. It is scuffed and scratched just from the simple pressure of my thumb pressing lightly on the display (there’s no other way to hold the toothbrush). I have a Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra shaver that I've been using for quite a while that has a very similar style display and it does not have a single scratch or scuff mark on it. Something else that is very important to note. The only way to register your new Oral-B iO Series 7 toothbrush (on the Canadian website) is by checking two checkboxes and agreeing to receiving promotions and advertising from "selected" third-parties so I refused to register mine. This product does come with a one-year warranty but the fact that you have to consent to receiving spam in order to register for that warranty? What is Braun thinking? So much for respecting your privacy (Braun's non-existent privacy policy clearly shows in the malfunctioning links within the app). Would I buy another one? I would buy a much cheaper Oral-B and wait until Braun does a major hardware and software overhaul and makes the necessary changes to their privacy policy. Although I like the toothbrush simply because of the circular motion which I have become accustomed to over many years, I am disappointed because this toothbrush did not live up to its hype. UPDATE AT 6 WEEKS OF USAGE (Mar. 13, 2026) I downgraded my overall rating from 3 stars to 1 star. It's taking three button presses to get this toothbrush to turn on now. That's after using it for only 6 weeks. Another problem I'm having is with the constant "SWITCHED?" message appearing on the display every time I take the toothbrush head off to clean it and then slide it back on again. The toothbrush head still has about 50 days of use left according to the app. I've absolutely had it with Oral-B. Never again.
