I have had this battery for a3 or 4 months now. Installs very easily and the screwdrivers provided were a nice feature. Reading the other reviews helped a lot as well. Like many other reviewers, I am disappointed in the overall battery life. I get between 2 to 3 hours with what I consider pretty average Mac use - internet browsing, checking email, maybe use of Word - we're not talking video rendering, Photoshop or some CPU intensive tasks. Running Windows 10 via Bootcamp is maybe 2 hours tops, again without major CPU intensive tasks. Also of note is that if you need factory service on your Mac, the Apple store may/will fix in house but states Apple will send it back without an OEM battery. I ran into this scenario not long after installing this battery for a video card issue, but fortunately the local Apple store was able to perform the repairs. When this battery begins to fade further I will likely splurge for the OEM instead.

I just received and installed the battery this afternoon and will post a follow-up after running the battery for a fair amount of time.Initial indicator of original battery problem for me was a small swelling displaying itself through affecting the physical button of the trackpad. I lived with it for a while, but it became increasingly worse and, eventually swelled enough to cause the bottom case panel to bulge and rest unevenly on table surface under heavy load (high heat). Apple quoted me $125+ to replace and give a 90 day warranty. Not terribly unreasonable, apart from the ridiculously short warranty, but I decided to go with this battery instead, with the 18 month warranty at less than half the cost.Battery "maximum charge" displaying in system, using CoconutBattery immediately after install and before any SMC reset, as being 7378 mAh and "design capacity" as 7200 mAh.The install was smooth. If you can, I recommend having a small vacuum cleaner handy as most systems accumulate dust and it's a good idea to clean it out since the case will be open anyway.The included tools are low quality, but good enough for the swap if you are gentle on them.Battery is a near-perfect fit in my early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. The screw holes in the battery weren't exactly aligned with the corresponding case holes, but they were close enough to work. I had to start the screw at a slight tilt though.After the initial discharge/recharge cycle, I'll perform the SMC reset. My intention is to follow their recommendations for the battery break-in: discharge to 7%, shut down system fully (not just sleep), leave plugged into charger and powered down for 12 hours, and repeat the process 2-3 times.For reference:Early 2011 MacBook Pro 15"2.2 GHz i7 quad core16GB RAM1 TB Crucial MX200 SSDI have executed the "forcetrim" command and disabled the drives from being put to sleep (allows the SSD to better clear deleted data, thereby optimizing future write times). I typically use the display at full brightness and have my fans set to kick in sooner and at higher RPMs. So, there are a few settings I've employed that will negatively affect runtime per charge.

I bought this battery as a replacement for my original 5-year-old apple battery. The installation process was very easy and the battery initially worked great with a 4-hour battery life. However, after 6 months of use, the battery life has now dropped to less than 1 hour. I am very disappointed with this quick decline and will be purchasing higher-quality brands from now on.

This is a modification of my previous one-star review of the Lukk replacement battery for MacBook Pro: after I posted my original review, I was contacted by Lukk with an apology and an offer to replace the battery, which I accepted (though I had to pay to ship their original battery back to them). After a time I received a code for ordering a new battery via Amazon, which I did. After it arrived I installed it, and I am glad to say that so far, the new battery is performing noticeably better than the first Lukk battery I received. Although it might be an overstatement to say that the Lukk battery performs as well as the original Apple battery did, it seems to be working pretty well.I should mention that the packaging from Lukk is very good, and the battery ships with two screwdrivers that are necessary for the replacement procedure--a small Philips-head and a small tri-wing--this is a nice touch.I appreciate Lukk's willingness to work with me to make this right--I was pretty frustrated with my first experience with their product. I agreed to update my review if the replacement they sent works better, and it does.
